About 30 black students who were standing silently at the top of the bleachers at Donald Trump’s rally here Monday night were escorted out by Secret Service agents who said the presidential candidate had requested their removal before he began speaking.
The sight of the students, who were visibly upset, being led outside by law enforcement officials created a stir at a university that was a whites-only campus until 1963.
“We didn’t plan to do anything,” said a tearful Tahjila Davis, a 19-year-old mass media major, who was among the Valdosta State University students who was removed. “They said, 'This is Trump’s property; it’s a private event.' But I paid my tuition to be here.”
Of course the Trump campaign denies that this was their doing, but seriously who do they think they're fooling?
This is the atmosphere created and nurtured by Trump, his campaign, and his supporters.
Remember this is the guy who declared that he would like to punch a protester being escorted out "in the face." A guy who has said publicly that when he is President he would like to relax the libel laws so that he could sue journalists. And a guy who fans the flames of Islamophobia, Xenophobia, and Racism at virtually every one of this rallies.
The other day there were commenters who were angry at me for suggesting that Trump was to blame for the fact that a member of his Secret Service detail choked a Time magazine photographer.
Of COURSE it's Trump's fault.
This is the atmosphere that he is creating, and this is the result of being exposed to it over and over. (Just check out this uber creepy announcement that is broadcast before his appearances.)
I am sure that the Secret Service agent is probably a highly trained professional, who typically would never even consider slamming a man to the ground by his throat.
But hang around Trump rallies long enough and there is no telling what actions might seem reasonable.
And folks what do we think happens if he actually gets the nomination?
CNN:
ReplyDeleteTrump: 'Everything is negotiable'
Valdosta, Georgia (CNN)Donald Trump on Monday did not refute a report claiming he told The New York Times editorial board in an off-the-record meeting that his immigration views are in fact more flexible than he has made them seem throughout his presidential campaign.
"Everything is negotiable," Trump said Monday on Fox News, responding to a question about whether the report, which undermines Trump's hardline stance on immigration, was accurate.

He may get the nomination, but he won't win a general election. Please have more faith in the American people. We came through in the last 2 elections and the country is only getting younger voters.
ReplyDeletethanks, 4:24. I agree.
DeleteThe thing is; why is Obama blamed for all that happens, even if I trip over a rock, but Trump's buck doesn't stop with him, even when he's responsible for it? I hope we citizens can gently and effectively combat our fellow Americans for this election. Go Bernie!
Nixon. Reagan. Bush. Bush.
DeleteCurrent Governors in ME, KS, TX, OK, WI, almost all the southern states, too many previous governors to count.
Faith in the American people?
BWAHAHAHAHAHA.
Faith in the American people's bigotry, misogynism, ignorance, and pandering to hate and fear, perhaps.
Obama is actually to blame for you tripping over a rock, though.
DeleteI blame Pres. Obama for constipation.
DeleteKKK TRUMP LAW?
ReplyDeletePresidential-candidate Donald Trump what crimes did these 30 American students standing in the bleachers at your Georgia rally commit?
STANDING WHILE BEING BLACK
KKK TRUMP LAW?
The problem with most Americans is since most of them have never lived in a fascistic state---they have no idea how it starts.
ReplyDeleteFirst you get easily led people who are pissed at the world because they think their privilege is gone to look for a savior. Then you encourage them to vent their hate on certain groups. Next you begin excluding people while shrugging and saying its not you, its the locals. Ultimately, you dismiss anyone disagreeing with you as crazy or weak. All the while throwing dog whistles
about the "other".
People don't understand that in the real world the Secret Service does what they are told. If they have a sane president----they don't bash people who are not dangerous to the POTUS. If you get a demagogue, like Trump, its all about him. Screw the rules. Basically, try to stop them if the President is a psychopath. He will pick the more aggressive agents for his detail.
If you are not a group that Trump is going after and you don't think you have anything to fear from a group (like the Secret Service) that could basically change into black suited thugs, you are living in a dream world. In what time in history were black people just assembling cause for someone to kick them out of a building.
Slowly, slowly.
Later at the Valdosta University rally, Trump said his whole life has been about making money, but "now I’m going to be greedy for the United States,” as the audience roared. “I’m going to take, take, take and we’re going to become rich again.”
DeleteVote Hillary Clinton 2016
Angela, like all police organizations, there are some very bad apples among their ranks. The only difference is that when they get fired, it is all a big secret.
DeleteDan Bongino (a google is worth the effort) who won the Maryland primary in 2012 as a republican for US Senator, was fired from the Sercret Service after Shenanigans in Russia. His brother was subsequently fired after the Columbia fiasco. Dan Bongino would like you to believe he quit the Secret Service one year away from being able to draw a pension.
Even republicans in Western Maryland thought he was a slime once they got to know him. He is now pimping his politics in Florida, thank goodness for Maryland. Marylander republicanss also hate Donald Trump.
Sarah Palin formally endorsed Dan Bongino for US Senate because he donated to $arahPAC.
Sometimes it's a case of bad apples spoiling the bunch, but sometimes it's an institutional problem. In other words, all the apples aren't very good because the basket isn't very good.
DeleteFirst, the reason it works for him: People do NOT know history. At least, I would believe those who agree with him don't know it.
DeleteSecond, the action: nibble nibble nibble.
I truly believe Trump will never be president. If I am wrong we are seriously screwed. We being the world.
ReplyDeleteWe're not screwed.
DeleteWe're FUC_ED!
Amen to that! Haven't witnessed anything this bizarre and downright scary in my lifetime.
DeleteIf he ever got elected, it wouldn't surprise me if he tried to hug the Queen! Of course, Elizabeth is a strong enough willed person she would probably slap him silly! THEN watch him get mad!
DeleteHAHA tRump didn't win Alaska. Thanks Sara!
ReplyDeleteThis is GREAT news for America.
DeleteHe won't win NJ either.
Christie is in this because he needs to make sure a republican is in office to pardon is fat ass. Here's to hoping Christie gets indicted any day now.
Do all candidates for the office of president have Secret Service protection? I can understand the need for it once a candidate has become his/her party's nominee. But at this point? Are there Secret Service agents wasting their time with Rubio, Cruz and Carson as well?
ReplyDeleteBeaglemom
Obama got SS protection easly in the primary. Until then I believe it was not common place to get SS protection until you were the nominee.
DeleteOf course, Hillary had it the entire time during the primary in 2008 because she has it anyway.
The Secret Service themselves determine if security is warranted. Since there are so many redneck punks in the SS, of course, they jump at the chance to protect a racist from black people. Their reasons for saying a candidate needs their services is suspect. I guarantee you that.
Yes if requested
DeleteHi Beaglemom, yes, you can qualify for protection before becoming a party nominee. Trump qualifies; not sure about the others.
Delete"Criteria have been established to assist the DHS Secretary and the advisory committee in their decision making (as of 2008).
Candidates must:
Be publically announced
Have some degree of prominence as shown by opinion polls
Be actively campaigning and entered in at least 10 state primaries
Be seeking the nomination of a qualified party
Have qualified for matching funds in the amount of at least $100,000
Have received contributions totaling $10 million"
For more info: http://www.secretservice.gov/about/faqs/
Thanks, I really did not know.
DeleteBeaglemom
Back in my day(I'm old) we would be staging sit-ins for every Trump rally everywhere. If they brought out the truncheons and arrested us,all the better.
ReplyDeleteSounds as though we are of the same generation!
DeleteWait one seconds, Cruz won in Alaska!
ReplyDeleteSarah Palin was a former governor in Alaska
Sarah Palin lives in Alaska
Sarah Palin is a Donald Trump kiss ass
YOU TELLING DONALD TRUMP THAT SARAH PALIN COULD NOT - DID NOT BRING IN HER ALASKA FOR TRUMP?
Where is the old bat anyway??
Deleteyeah, where's Sarah?
DeleteIn answer to the two replies asking about where SP is? Who the f*ck CARES? I would just as soon never hear from her again - ever!

Racist Trump Supporters Rough Up Black Woman: ‘You’re Scum, Your Time Will Come’ (VIDEO)
Deletehttp://www.addictinginfo.org/2016/03/02/racist-trump-supporters-rough-up-black-woman-youre-scum-your-time-will-come-video/
For trump it's a win/win. Should he win any election, he would get away with any and everything.
ReplyDeleteAll he has to say is , I showed you that I was racist, not my fault.
All of his supporters are racists among other terrifying behaviors.
Trump Jr. being interviewed by an avowed racist on his radio show. Folks, this will only get worse. Fox News has pushed decisive, destructive propaganda steadily for the last 7 years. Make no mistake about this: the hatred and vitriolic verbiage coming from Fox News has struck a cord with millions in this country. They hate Obama because he won and because he's been successful. So of course, the rallying cry is to take their country back! Back from the black man and his party! This is because of bat-shit crazies in the GOP/Fox News )one and the same) like Sarah Palin, O'Reilly, Beck, Coulter, Levin, Hannity and on down. They own this monster they have put together. This racist pig.
ReplyDeleteAn excellent article in Vox 'The rise of American authoritarianism' explains what's going on with Trump's supporters. They are scared, afraid of the changes going on in the world, and of anybody that comes from the "outside".

9:02 "Hitler was sentenced to three months in jail, one of which he served. This was his first experience in jail and he emerged from it somewhat of a martyr and more popular than ever. “It’s all right,” Hitler boasted to the police. “We got what we wanted. "
DeleteThis so reminds me of the palin/mccain campaign.
ReplyDeleteI feel for those students who were removed from the rally, but they did learn a valuable lesson, and I hope they take that lesson out into the world and use it to keep jerks like SKROOB from ever getting anywhere close to being a "leader of the people".
ReplyDeleteThis sounds bad, but we have forgotten that when W was president, any dissidents could not eve get into the lobby. That how that b*stard tricked us into thinking he had broad support so he could win by vote flipping.
ReplyDeleteThat's right. Those that opposed W's policies were roped off out of the way of what I believe was called (W's sop porters) the 'Patriots' area.

DeleteCan't wait till Trump is president and restores proper law and order.
ReplyDelete@ 8:30 -- Joke? if not...until he comes for you.
DeleteSounds like a wise and smart move to remove these students students to prevent them from causing a problem at his event before it started. It was smarter for the safety of those there to participate in the event, and those students who were no doubt there just to cause a disruption.
ReplyDelete@ 8:44 -- ...and this is how it starts, has already started...preemptive arrest. Think about what you said.
DeletePiss off and die.
Delete"These students students"? Bwaaaahhhaaaaaa! Could you please stand up? The firemen need to use the hydrant hydrant.
DeleteIf der Trumper wins the general, we all will be required to raise our right arms and point our fingers to the sky, that is, except for the undocumented who will be booted out by the jack booted thugs. Sieg Heil!
ReplyDeleteTrump supporter?
ReplyDeleteHaving kids in college, I want them to engage politicians, ask questions, and learn as much as they can. Bully boy prock Trump had these kids kicked out. I don't care what race/religion or party they belong to, they're just as American and just as human as everyone else, it's their school, and they have every right to go, and even respectfully protest if they want to.
ReplyDeleteThis move shows me Trump knows exactly who David Duke is and exactly what the KKK is and he's exposed his own racism. No citizen deserves this treatment.
