Gee it seems that if a fella defunds Planned Parenthood he can't even go out for a coffee without somebody shaming him for it.

Courtesy of Injustice:

Rick Scott, the Trump-loving, women-hating governor of Florida, can’t even visit a local Starbucks for a caffeine fix without hearing from disgruntled Floridians enraged over his political theater.

Cara Jennings, a 39 year old woman from Gainesville, happened to be in the local Starbucks when the Governor popped in unannounced for a drink.

Jennings decided in the moment to let him know just what she thought of his recent decisions to de-fund Planned Parenthood and significantly cut Medicaid.

“You cut Medicaid, so I couldn’t get Obamacare, said Jennings pointing her finger at Scott and simultaneously silencing one of his aides trying in vain to intervene, “You’re an a–hole. You don’t care about working people. You should be ashamed to show your face around here.”

I LOVE how Scott runs out of the Starbucks with his tail between his legs.

Well now this woman is my new hero.

Good for her in standing up for women all over her state, and calling this guy exactly what he is, an asshole.

Good on HER! I so agree, and would have been shouting it out along with her if I'd been there.

He is a CROOK and a total embarrassment to the state. I despise that scumbag.

Notice how he high tails it out of there, instead of acting like a man. What a wuss, scumbag, shithead. Does anyone in the GOP have a fucking spine???????????

  6. This may embolden other constituents of red states to speak boldly to their politicians if they happen to mingle with their voters. Sure politicians must realize every one person who yells at them represents hundreds who haven't been able to see them in person, yet.
Unfortunately, Scott and his ilk will just have their minions go for their coffees, lunches to avoid vocal voters. Wusses, indeed.

Did Scott say something about a million new jobs and she said, I don't have one...and he says, well, you should. Should!?! not, I'm sorry you don't.

It was a thing of beauty. Had he not been a wuss he would have calmly taken the time to listen to her, jot down notes. He doesn't have to agree, he just needs to listen and let her know she has been heard. A coward does what he did.

I wish that every politician who supports/votes to defund/limit health care, including Planned Parenthood gets the same treatment wherever they go. Women especially need to speak out to embarrass these selfish a-holes. Perhaps more women would be emboldened to do so after seeing Cara's take-down of Voldemort.(Please clap.LOL)

In defense of refusing the Fed's offer to expand Medicaid, Scott blurts out that there are one million new jobs in Florida.

Of course he's not giving credit to Obama -despite all the GOP sabotage- he's pretending that refusing to expand Medicaid created new jobs.

Ok, IM'ers....I am a student and I live in Gainesville! This exchange with Rick Scott happened after he had been in town promoting a company who had added new jobs. The employees are in the background of the press conference with their eyes cast downward, nobody wants to look at Rick Scott!

From there, he stopped in downtown Gainesville at Starbucks. He was with an entourage, and thought he would be well received because of the previous stop where nobody called him out because they could lose their jobs if they did. So he was feeling confident in Gainesville, which he never should have felt that way !

Gainesville is a very very blue city in the middle of red. We are a college town, with University of Florida here. We are a boho/hippie town. Lots of professors, college students, coffee shops, craft beer indie restaurants, farmers markets, etc.... We make lots of Great Places to Retire Lists. Our cost of living is low, our weather is great, and we are a very liberal college town. We never vote for Rick Scott so I am surprised he was stupid enough to venture outside of the company where he was scheduled to stop.

The Starbucks lady made the front page of our paper today! She is a local hero. We're so proud of her. I know Florida gets a bad rap because of all the idiots here, but Gainesville is so much better than that. Come on down and see for yourself.

Who exactly is pulling the lever or marking their ballots to return these assholes to office? The uninformed electorate, that's who! Apparently, it's still the big three issues the ignorant populace is still focused on: Guns, God and Gays. Sometimes, you really do get the government you deserve. Keep voting against your own best interests, your wallet and the Republicans will still maintain their majority. Sigh...

Rick Scott himself also attacked Jennings, releasing this statement:

“People with radical views tend to not like civil debate. A self-proclaimed anarchist rudely yelled and cursed at the Governor. She also refused to Pledge Allegiance to the flag. It’s a free country, but its not at all surprising that an anarchist prefers shouting over conversation.”
