Gee it seems that if a fella defunds Planned Parenthood he can't even go out for a coffee without somebody shaming him for it.

Courtesy of Injustice:

Rick Scott, the Trump-loving, women-hating governor of Florida, can’t even visit a local Starbucks for a caffeine fix without hearing from disgruntled Floridians enraged over his political theater.

Cara Jennings, a 39 year old woman from Gainesville, happened to be in the local Starbucks when the Governor popped in unannounced for a drink.

Jennings decided in the moment to let him know just what she thought of his recent decisions to de-fund Planned Parenthood and significantly cut Medicaid.

“You cut Medicaid, so I couldn’t get Obamacare, said Jennings pointing her finger at Scott and simultaneously silencing one of his aides trying in vain to intervene, “You’re an a–hole. You don’t care about working people. You should be ashamed to show your face around here.”

I LOVE how Scott runs out of the Starbucks with his tail between his legs.

Well now this woman is my new hero.

Good for her in standing up for women all over her state, and calling this guy exactly what he is, an asshole.

  1. Anonymous2:04 PM

Good for her! Wish I had been there as I'd have been rooting her on!

  2. Cara for Governor!

  3. Anonymous2:16 PM

Good on HER! I so agree, and would have been shouting it out along with her if I'd been there.

He is a CROOK and a total embarrassment to the state. I despise that scumbag.

Notice how he high tails it out of there, instead of acting like a man. What a wuss, scumbag, shithead. Does anyone in the GOP have a fucking spine???????????

    1. Anonymous3:51 PM

The slimy crook ripped off the Gubmint (all of us) when he ran a health care business. Now that he's enriched himself he wants small Gubmint so he can save on taxes. Asshole!

  4. Anonymous2:26 PM

Only one presidential candidate gives a shit ladies, let's speak out with our votes in November on the ballot from the top to bottom!

    1. Anonymous8:23 PM

Totally agree. Enough of the war on women, the misogyny, control over our bodies, the disregard for talent in favor of looks and subservience.

  5. Anonymous2:33 PM

Nancy French has rilly made an impact! What would Sarah do without her?

Bristol A Role Model For Strong Women

    1. Anonymous3:05 PM

      1) I'd like to snap that finger in two.
      2) Has she EVER aged!
      3) Don't be a dick, mini-me.
      You are no role model.

    2. Anonymous3:39 PM

Isn't Nancy Bristol the go to place for RW Planned Parenthood news?

What are they talking about rap musicians now?

Bristol Palin Rips Azealia Banks Over Fight With Her Mom: ‘There Will Be Consequences’

      ‘There Will Be Consequences’

What consequences? Sarah Palin has not sold her Judge Palin TV Show. The Palins make threats and their flying monkeys do all the dirty for them.

      Go for it Palins!!

      Rap v. word salad

  6. This may embolden other constituents of red states to speak boldly to their politicians if they happen to mingle with their voters. Sure politicians must realize every one person who yells at them represents hundreds who haven't been able to see them in person, yet.
Unfortunately, Scott and his ilk will just have their minions go for their coffees, lunches to avoid vocal voters. Wusses, indeed.

Did Scott say something about a million new jobs and she said, I don't have one...and he says, well, you should. Should!?! not, I'm sorry you don't.

  7. Anonymous2:44 PM

I swear if I had been there, I would have stood and cheered. You go girl! There is absolutely no reason to not express your opinion when encountering politicians. They are elected by, and work for, the very people they encounter. Good for that woman!

  8. Anonymous3:18 PM

Bristol's Blog: For the latest Pregnant Planning... HoHoHo
'I want to start off this post by saying I would never wish any of these threats'

Palins supporters listen, they mean business.

"President Barack Obama Is the Most Threatened President In History."
According to the Secret Service, the president is the most threatened person in the U.S., regardless of political party.

Sarah Palin blamed by the US Secret Service over death threats against Barack Obama

  9. Anonymous3:20 PM

It was a thing of beauty. Had he not been a wuss he would have calmly taken the time to listen to her, jot down notes. He doesn't have to agree, he just needs to listen and let her know she has been heard. A coward does what he did.

    I applaud her boldness!

    1. Anonymous4:00 PM

3:20 well said. It is the bottom line.
What an idiot, pompous, superfluous asshole! Ho has no business in governance!

  10. Crystal Sage3:24 PM

I wish that every politician who supports/votes to defund/limit health care, including Planned Parenthood gets the same treatment wherever they go. Women especially need to speak out to embarrass these selfish a-holes. Perhaps more women would be emboldened to do so after seeing Cara's take-down of Voldemort.(Please clap.LOL)

    1. Did you see the video of dozens and dozens of women walking out of a Catholic church (in Poland) when their priest spoke against abortion?

      This needs to happen everywhere.

  11. Anonymous3:34 PM

Good for her to tear off a strip off his hide! And kudos to the camera person for a great vid :)

  12. Randall3:36 PM

I wish I could send her some flowers
...but instead, I'll send another donation to our local Planned Parenthood.

  13. Anonymous3:45 PM

In defense of refusing the Fed's offer to expand Medicaid, Scott blurts out that there are one million new jobs in Florida.

Of course he's not giving credit to Obama -despite all the GOP sabotage- he's pretending that refusing to expand Medicaid created new jobs.

  14. Anonymous3:50 PM

I have dreamed of moments like that. Bravo for her. Hopefully, she will start a trend, so that this a-hole politicians get to hear what real people outside of their bubble think.

    1. Anonymous6:41 PM

Well. Realistically, a-hole, mostly Republican, politicians don't go out in public all that often. This guy just got caught in the euphoria of the moment and thought for an instant he was a man of the people. Ooops. That woman is a hero.

  15. Anonymous3:55 PM

Good on her for confronting the asshole and it was recorded for all to see. Boy, did he get the hell out of there in a hurry. Afraid of a woman who spoke truthfully. Run away you scumbag sick...

  16. Anonymous3:56 PM

I'm surprised that one of his aides didn't body slam her. Isn't that how the GOP works these days?

  17. Anonymous3:57 PM

    Oops meant dick not sick.

  18. Anonymous4:03 PM

    Middle-aged women, unite!
I swear, we could join hands and GET SHIT DONE.
I love this woman. And the gov is a Grade A Entitled Asshole Wimp who is ignorant beyond belief.
Also, LOL, notice everyone else was afraid of her, too? Love it!

    1. Anonymous6:34 PM

Don't restrict your GET SHIT DONE efforts to middle-aged women. Unless you count 75 as middle-aged. Women from 12 to 112 can GET SHIT DONE if we just pull together. Because we're women, we labor to give life godammit!!

    2. Anonymous7:28 PM

As i age, my tolerance for bullshit declines.

  19. WA Skeptic4:30 PM

    YES YES YES!!!

  20. Anonymous4:31 PM

Ok, IM'ers....I am a student and I live in Gainesville! This exchange with Rick Scott happened after he had been in town promoting a company who had added new jobs. The employees are in the background of the press conference with their eyes cast downward, nobody wants to look at Rick Scott!

From there, he stopped in downtown Gainesville at Starbucks. He was with an entourage, and thought he would be well received because of the previous stop where nobody called him out because they could lose their jobs if they did. So he was feeling confident in Gainesville, which he never should have felt that way !

Gainesville is a very very blue city in the middle of red. We are a college town, with University of Florida here. We are a boho/hippie town. Lots of professors, college students, coffee shops, craft beer indie restaurants, farmers markets, etc.... We make lots of Great Places to Retire Lists. Our cost of living is low, our weather is great, and we are a very liberal college town. We never vote for Rick Scott so I am surprised he was stupid enough to venture outside of the company where he was scheduled to stop.

The Starbucks lady made the front page of our paper today! She is a local hero. We're so proud of her. I know Florida gets a bad rap because of all the idiots here, but Gainesville is so much better than that. Come on down and see for yourself.

    1. Anonymous5:05 PM

Than you for your input, always good to hear from boots on the ground!

    2. Anonymous5:12 PM

Yes, thank you, that was a great write-up!

    3. Anonymous5:27 PM

You make a convincing argument to visit Gainesville!

    4. Anonymous6:09 AM

      GO GATORS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  21. WA Skeptic4:33 PM

    YES YES YES!!!

  22. I absolutely love this woman! I am sitting here clapping as she is speaking and my husband thinks I've lost it :) May more women, and men, speak up when the see one of these idiots. Kudos to Cara!!!

  23. Anonymous5:04 PM

    She is my hero too!

  24. Anita Winecooler5:06 PM

One for Cara Jennings, zero for Rick Scott. I hope Cara meets up with him again, and it goes viral. Poor Rick had to change his depends in the limo. Hey, Rick, mind if I call you Dick?

  25. Anonymous5:19 PM

Bernie Sanders " Planned parenthood is part of the problem".

  26. Anonymous5:37 PM

Rick is the embodiment of Cicero's excrement quote on politicians. Gotta love it when those chickens come home to roost.

  27. Anonymous5:52 PM

That was beautiful! This right here is what politicians on both sides of the aisle don't want happening. Everyday people standing up and calling them out on their bullshit.

Blessings and light to you and yours Cara!

  28. Anonymous6:09 PM

I think these elected officials forget they were voted in by people. They act like Marie Antoniette's entourage. If they are not careful the people will come down on them.

  29. This is only the beginning from women across the country who've had ENOUGH of these pompous bastards!

  30. Anonymous6:31 PM

    Oh yes, please, please, please!!

  31. Anonymous8:20 PM

You go girl! I love that woman. He hightailed it out of there like the coward he and the other Repubs are.

  32. Is there a single Republican that ISN'T a flaming asshole these days? (perhaps a few that can be counted on one hand) And yet, these pricks keep getting reelected. Who exactly is pulling the lever or marking their ballots to return these assholes to office? The uninformed electorate, that's who! Apparently, it's still the big three issues the ignorant populace is still focused on: Guns, God and Gays. Sometimes, you really do get the government you deserve. Keep voting against your own best interests, your wallet and the Republicans will still maintain their majority. Sigh...

    1. Anonymous8:13 AM

And yet Bernie Sanders has gotten a pass for having the same views on Planned Parenthood.

  33. Anonymous11:43 AM

Rick Scott himself also attacked Jennings, releasing this statement:

“People with radical views tend to not like civil debate. A self-proclaimed anarchist rudely yelled and cursed at the Governor. She also refused to Pledge Allegiance to the flag. It’s a free country, but its not at all surprising that an anarchist prefers shouting over conversation.”

  34. Anonymous3:13 PM

Typical, she is an embarrassment. Yelling at the Governor about not getting her free stuff, medicade, while lounging around a starbucks sipping a latte wasting time on her laptop, probably surfing facebook.

Get a job you obnoxious sow!

  35. We need more citizens to do exactly this to any public servant that isn't doing their job.

Scotty Walker comes immediately to mind.

    And of course, Mitch McConnell.

Don't feed the trolls!
It just goes directly to their thighs.
