Mashable has learned that President Barack Obama is set to act as a guest presenter for five editions of the network's evening news program, Science Presents DNews, starting Monday night.
In the short segments, Obama will deliver updates on a wide range of timely topics, including innovations in public health, space, and technology.
His appearance in the news segments, which air every weeknight at 9 p.m. ET on the Science Channel, comes during a week that will see many science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM) related-activities — including the 2016 White House Science Fair (taking place April 13) and the USA Science & Engineering Festival.
Damn I love this guy!
We often fail to notice that the President has a pretty fine record when it comes to promoting science.
Clearly the very last thing we need is for him to be replaced by some knuckle dragging, climate change denying, evolutionary science disbelieving, Republican neanderthal.
Update: President Obama at the 2016 White House Science Fair.
There are some great pictures floating around of BO at the White House Science Fair interacting with the kids and being very nerdy (in a good way!) about the science projects.

Let's Pause to Appreciate Obama's Clear and Obvious Love of the White House Science Fair
I agree. I think the White House Science Fair is an amazing annual event.

OT but great news. Walt Monegan gets a second chance as Alaska Public Safety Commissioner. Would be sweet justice if he ended up investigating the Palins. Maybe we'll finally get a police report on Todd's "accident".

Just got an announcement that VP Biden will be a speaker a the American Association of Cancer Research meeting which I will be attending this weekend. YAY! So looking forward to it.
ReplyDeleteThanks for posting that! Science RULES
ReplyDeleteDisgraced politician Anthony Weiner writes for the NY Daily News. Odd how the paper did a hatchet job on Bernie, but praised Weiner's wife's boss.
ReplyDeleteA hatchet job? Did they put words in Bernie's mouth ?
DeleteWas he at the science fair?

ReplyDeleteI LOVE MY PRESIDENT!
ReplyDeleteJust had to shout that out. I don't always agree with him, but I do respect him. Intelligent. Peaceful. Patient. Funny. Debonair. Kind. Handsome. Caring. OK, I could go on and on, so I'll end with this: he's got one cute butt. :)
What's between his ears ain't too shabby either.
DeleteFirst, and above all, this President "Gets it". Without Science and promoting Scientific research, we won't be able to help anyone live longer, work more efficiently, find new clean ways to make energy that don't rely on fossil fuels, cure diseases, etc. I love that he does showcase science fairs at the white house, equally for boys and girls.
