President Obama will be a guest presenter on five episodes of the Science Network's news program next week. Update!

Courtesy of Mashable:

Mashable has learned that President Barack Obama is set to act as a guest presenter for five editions of the network's evening news program, Science Presents DNews, starting Monday night.

In the short segments, Obama will deliver updates on a wide range of timely topics, including innovations in public health, space, and technology.

His appearance in the news segments, which air every weeknight at 9 p.m. ET on the Science Channel, comes during a week that will see many science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM) related-activities — including the 2016 White House Science Fair (taking place April 13) and the USA Science & Engineering Festival.

Damn I love this guy!

We often fail to notice that the President has a pretty fine record when it comes to promoting science.

Clearly the very last thing we need is for him to be replaced by some knuckle dragging, climate change denying, evolutionary science disbelieving, Republican neanderthal.

Update: President Obama at the 2016 White House Science Fair.

There are some great pictures floating around of BO at the White House Science Fair interacting with the kids and being very nerdy (in a good way!) about the science projects.

Here's a great selection of photos posted on Jezebel:

  2. OT but great news. Walt Monegan gets a second chance as Alaska Public Safety Commissioner. Would be sweet justice if he ended up investigating the Palins. Maybe we'll finally get a police report on Todd's "accident".

Disgraced politician Anthony Weiner writes for the NY Daily News. Odd how the paper did a hatchet job on Bernie, but praised Weiner's wife's boss.

  7. I LOVE MY PRESIDENT!
Just had to shout that out. I don't always agree with him, but I do respect him. Intelligent. Peaceful. Patient. Funny. Debonair. Kind. Handsome. Caring. OK, I could go on and on, so I'll end with this: he's got one cute butt. :)

First, and above all, this President "Gets it". Without Science and promoting Scientific research, we won't be able to help anyone live longer, work more efficiently, find new clean ways to make energy that don't rely on fossil fuels, cure diseases, etc. I love that he does showcase science fairs at the white house, equally for boys and girls.
