The guy who shot and killed three people and injured nine others in the Colorado Planned Parenthood clinic actually tried to blow the place up as well.

Courtesy of the Washington Post:

The man accused of killing three people and injuring nine others during a shooting rampage at a Planned Parenthood clinic in Colorado last year told police he unsuccessfully tried to set off an explosion during this siege, according to authorities.

Detectives said that Robert Lewis Dear Jr., who has been held without bond since the November shooting, told them he brought propane tanks to the Colorado Springs clinic thinking that they would blow up when he shot them. Dear did shoot them, but the explosion never happened, police said.

This was one of several details included in a set of documents released Monday by a Colorado court. These documents — an arrest report and a set of search warrants — offer a new account of how the shooting spree unfolded. They also provide a glimpse at Dear’s state of mind, describing how he told detectives that he expected to go to heaven and “be met by all the aborted fetuses at the gates of heaven and they would thank him.”

I think expecting to be thanked by a bunch of fetuses is a pretty good indicator of mental illness.

You know if this guy were inspired by ISIS we would be going after the individuals who inspired him to commit his act of terror and taking them out.

So with that in mind just when will the Feds lock this little prick up and throw away the key?

No truer evidence of "pro-life" than he wanted to blow up a clinic--with FETUSES in it! Anti-choice is not about the "unborn baybeeeeze" at all, it's about controlling women.

Exactly how would undeveloped fetuses thank him at some mythical afterlife gates? Is this guy trying to be the 41st contributor to the bible? The other 40 were just as nuts as him!

And that, my friends, is what domestic terrorism is all about. A few days ago I saw a billboard near town with big letters "Generations Lost." It's some kind of anti-abortion event; I didn't bother with the small print.

  5. It's troubling (understatement) how aggressive the republicans continue to be on the abortion issue. Makes me wonder where the influence is coming from. Middle Eastern donors? Who's pushing this to the point we have domestic terrorism in our medical clinics?! It doesn't matter what facility is - PP or others. This rhetoric encourages these crazy ass fools like this wing nut.

Thank the NRA and their money that makes it possible to murder doctors, staff and patients. If we as women continue to remain silent, I fear the far right loons will continue to attack our right to choose and each small success motivates crazy bastards like this guy. Why are we back to this point after the Supreme Court ruled on this decades ago?

sharon, the motivation for the anti-abortion crowd is Christian Dominionists, and radical Christian terrorists like Ted Cruz, Bryan Fischer, and Kevin Swanson.

Sharon @ 5:44: The bible, as well as the Koran, are the descendants of the Torah. The origin of the three paternalistic religions is Middle Eastern. The history of the reversal of the original Goddess religions of Mesopotamia is well researched. The fanatics of implementing tribal male domination for millennia have periodically wrought havoc for those who did not meekly submit. It seems incongruous that in this stage of advanced science we are in another one of those upheavals but...

Just judging on looks alone, how many fetuses would this crazy motherforker be legally allowed to adopt? And why is it that these "pro fetus" men are all guys no woman in her right mind would want to park his converse all stars by her bed?
Yep, clean him up real nice, give the beard some dye and a trim, give him trial sizes of axe products, lock him up, and grind the key to shreds. Three square meals a day, free lodging, and all the time in the world to work on his "issues".

He's probably convinced that if he died in his attempt that he would be greeted in paradise by 72 first cousins.
