This was the cover of the Daily News the day after Trump won Indiana and essentially clinched the nomination.

Source
After this win there was no end to the articles coming out declaring doom for the Republican party and indeed the country itself.

Think Progress is convinced that he will doom the economy.

Salon thinks he will doom the Republican party. (In fact after Indiana conservatives came out in droves to say that they were done with the GOP.)

However Slate isn't worried about either of those because they simply don't believe he will ever be President.

Of course not everybody is in panic

Some just sit and wait.

"Don't worry my children our time is coming."

Of course the remedy to this could not be more clear. #ImWithHer.

Yeah, Sarah actually looks as deranged in real life as that cartoon. I bet she really thinks Trump will be her ticket to making some kind of comeback. It ain't happening Sarah! It's funny how she has been pushed into a corner called Facebook. Other than that she has nothing. I bet she won't be getting any TV interviews anytime soon either. It really is time to put her to rest. She's a vile, nasty skank. Remember how the TV stations were letting her get on and pitch her stupid little devotional book? I bet she begged them to let her on. I'm sure she didn't get paid for it. I can hear her now, "let me on your show to pitch my book and I'll do your show for free, please, pretty please!" The media should be ashamed for actually portraying her as someone to be taken seriously. I can't stand this woman and her stupid family.

Rob Reiner on Morning Joe this about an hour ago, worth the watch. Please watch it.

I just finished watching the Reiner interview.

I can give a specific incident where Joe and Mika did not confront or question Trump on his BS.

Just yesterday Trump repeated several times that they (Joe and Mika) knew that Hillary should not be able to run for president because of the e-mails, insinuating that she is not being prosecuted for political reasons. Neither Joe nor Mika spoke up and said, "No, I do not know that Hillary Clinton should not be allowed to run for president". They kept quiet and let him rant, not one question.

    3. Kelly Ayotte of New Hampshire just came out in support of Drumpf. I guess she figured this is a good shot at the VP slot if he decides to put a woman on the ticket with him. If he does, it sure as hell won't be Sarah Palin.

It is stunning. Persons vying to be the POTUS used to be politicians; senators, governors - persons who had law degrees - with experience in lawmaking, politics, foreign policy making. Now? Reality TV people who shout and spew anything they want to at anyone they want to. Persons wanting to be the POTUS had some iota of how Washington worked; had real ideas about what to do. Showed some decorum of intelligence, thoughtfulness, decency! Not now. In 2008, a war veteran senator who had many many years in politics took a woman with very little political acumen and put her on his presidential ticket. Why? She was a natural in front of the camera. She was very attractive and could spew red meat to adoring crowds. Those crowds didn't care that she was illiterate, unprofessional, unprepared for Washington: they liked her looks and her TV ready folksiness. Viola! The presidential sweepstakes are now brought to you now by Twitter and YouTube. God help us all.

Anon @ 3:20 A.M. - spot-on assessment; totally agree with you! What the hell is this "folksy" shit?? The world seen enough of it during Dumbya's reign of idiocy! Diplomacy, tact, and protocol are required assets on the world stage. Can you imagine world leaders or the diplomatic corps having to deal with HER?? As you subtly stated, "God help us all"!!

    2. What did you expect after Reagan? Getting elected Governor of California was the worst thing for this country. His only experience was as president of the Screen Actors Guild. The decisions he made as governor contributed to the decline of this state. We still haven't recovered from the damage.

So now you have a business-man reality star instead of a has-been B-movie actor. I don't see much difference.

Well, I think Reagan's motives were better than Drumpf's. Reagan really wanted to and thought he was doing good for his country. I believe Drumpf is only looking at doing good for himself, his businesses and his ego.

I believe Bernie's ideas are the future but to survive today the USA needs Hilary. She has been tested for the last several decades and survived.

If another political candidate has ever had to run such a gauntlet, I am not aware of them.

The Rob Reiner appearance on Morning Joe was epic. I do not like what msnbc is becoming but I am grateful that I saw Joe's (dead girl in office) show this morning.

I tried to leave a link above. Rob Reiner spoke truth to the power that Joe and that crew wants to wield.

Thank you 5:00 AM for the link
to Morning Joe. I turn that show on in the morning and last about 5 minutes. Joe and Mika continually interrupt their guests and it was great that Rob Reiner waited them out and said what needed to be said. He was on Colbert last night but they didn't discuss Trump...wish they had!
I will continue to be a Rob Reiner fan...Joe and Mika ...
      not so much!

Stephanie Miller just teased that Rob is supposed to be calling into her show soon--tomorrow maybe? She's been personal friends with him for years.

Of course we know through history that the once republican party was the past democratic party. And the past demo party is now the current gop. This is a problem with many younger voters. Both parties have bad history. A third party is in order in 2016

It is very unsettling that Donald Trump has the GOP nomination - for republicans. Never miss an opportunity to shame a republican for Trump.

We can do this. Hillary Clinton 2016.

I believe the artist left out one critical egg: WAR!

That egotistical idiot running as a repube would have us in a major war before the end of his first year in office. He's just DUMB enough to try to do something unilaterally in Syria, which would put us at direct odds with Russia.

    1. We should do a poll.

      War with Mexico?

      War with Saudi Arabia?

      War with ?

Maybe Drumpf will declare war on Greenland because that's where global warming comes from (in his tiny little pea brain.)?

Whomever was in charge of the Daily News cover must not have attended many weddings or funerals. It's the *wedding* ceremony that begins "Dearly Beloved." Which in some ways is appropriate. It's a shotgun marriage of tRump and the GOP and it will likely end in a murder/suicide.

On "with all due respect" they had that louisiana version of Sarah, Mary Matalin Carville, who informed them she switched from Republican to Independent today. Of course she refuses to say why, and she's not blaming Trump, it's just that her feewings are hurt, there's no candidate for the conservatives. Sleep with both eyes open, mr Carville, oh, and keep your teeth in.
Love both cartoons, but it's obvious the cartoonist didn't do their homework, she hasn't weighed that much nor had enough hair for a bumpit in ages. But they're spot on with the vulture in Trump's nest. Perfect.
The dead elephant doesn't need an autopsy, it was a self inflicted suicide by a millionaire who bought his presumptive office. Good luck uniting the party.
Today, he had THE BEST cinco di mayo taco at trump towers.....the mexicans LOVE me, he tweeted. Someone had to tap him on the shoulder and say "MR Trump, that's not a pinata, that's Melania's head."
While he was taking his victory lap and jacking off, our POTUS granted clemency to fifty eight people, saying "We're a Nation of Second Chances". And I had a long lunch, stood for two people in a naturalization ceremony. For all it's faults, this is the best country in the world, warts and all. Watching a sea of humanity take the pledge proudly waving the American Flag sent chills up my spine.
