Donald Trump is now attacking Hillary Clinton's religious faith. So does he think she's a secret Muslim too?

This is how much of my brain I use on daily basis.
Courtesy of Politico:

Donald Trump questioned his Democratic opponent’s Christian faith Tuesday, telling a closed meeting with top Christian leaders that “we don’t know anything about Hillary in terms of religion.”

“Now, she's been in the public eye for years and years, and yet there's no -- there's nothing out there. There's like nothing out there,” the presumptive Republican nominee said in a video released on Twitter by Virginia Christian conservative (and former Senate candidate) E.W. Jackson.

“It's going to be an extension of Obama but it's going to be worse, because with Obama you had your guard up; with Hillary you don't, and it's going to be worse,” Trump added on Tuesday.

To be clear Hillary Clinton has been very open about her Methodist Christian faith, and attends church with some regularity.

On the other hand the Pope himself said that Trump was not a Christian.

Essentially Trump seems to have run out of attacks that are specific to Hillary, and now is dredging old anti-Obama conspiracy theories.

It appears that perhaps Trump was responding to this statement from Hillary:
Damn! That is some seriously thin skin ole Trump has there.

Okay can we all agree now that Donald Trump is a crazy person?

  1. She's ably conversant in the Bible in fact, can even cite chapter and verse. Unlike Trump.

    1. Anonymous2:19 PM

I'd consider that wasting time learning to cite bible verses as a HUGE negative.

    2. SallyinMI2:31 PM

Trump can't even name the books correctly. He missed 3rd grade Bible School Sundays, it seems. Of course, with a father who adored Hitler, I'd have been surprised if little Donnie even went to church.

    3. Anonymous2:52 PM

2:19 - some of us were raised that way. Recently, I saw Jamie Foxx's young daughter name every book in the Bible, and it was very impressive.

    4. Anonymous3:00 PM

Some people were raised in a lot of different ways, ways that are harmful to their mental wellbeing.

Religion is one of the most harmful things that parents can impart unto their children and the sooner it is relinquished in the pursuit of critical thinking the better.

Poor Jamie Foxx's kids, being indoctrinated into a fairy tale beliefs without having any choice. At least he's rich enough that they never need to really try to live and function in the real world, because their religious brainwashing is a detriment to success.

I hope they can rise above their brainwashing.

    5. Anonymous3:20 PM

3:00 - there is an intersection between the study of world religion and the spiritual values of human beings. Sorry you have missed it! Peace.

    6. Anonymous3:39 PM

      Thank you, 3.20.

In their rush to assert their superiority, some people fail to recognize that they're totally lacking grace.

    7. Anonymous4:22 PM

      @Anonymous 2:19 PM

''I'd consider that wasting time learning to cite bible verses as a HUGE negative.''
It is NOT a negative. I read the scriptures as does most believers.
You non-believers should stop trying to bully those of us who believe in God.
Learn to live and let live.
Practice letting people be who they are, and believe what they believe.
Stop judging, it will do you good.

    8. Anonymous4:35 PM

      @Anonymous 3:00 PM

You need to learn to not judge people who think differently than you. People have the right to live their lives as they see fit, as long as they are not hurting anyone, or victimizing anyone. It is not your place to judge them.
Learn to co-exist with those of us who are different than you, who live differently than you.
Some of us read the bible, and love the Lord. THAT is our right.

I respect your right to be an atheist if that's what you are.
Please respect others right to be a believer in God.

    9. Anonymous5:18 PM

4:22 You make a very valid point but the religion issue goes off the rails when it is injected into the political dialogue. I'd wager there are over 20,000 different sects of religious beliefs in this country alone. Therefore, none of them are qualified to say they have the 'truth' for everyone.

I don't agree with those who bash others who hold religious beliefs either. I'm not a Catholic but I recall how angry I was at those who criticized JFK and declared him unfit for the presidency because he was a Catholic.

To those who live by the creation story I wonder how and why they went so off the rails at their fellow humans hating them for their color or their religious beliefs. If we are all created by 'G-d' how did a select few get the authority to decide who is a fit human when judged by color or personal interpretation of religion. I'm pleased the founding fathers thought to inject a separation of church and state into our democracy.

    10. Anonymous8:53 PM

      @5:18 pm
      Very nicely stated. Thank you.

    11. Anonymous9:28 PM

OMG, you people and your "grace" and "spiritualism" just totally miss the point.

None of that is real. Get over it.

    12. 3:00
      You nailed it. Thank you.

    13. It's notable that Trump's complaint, essentially, stems from the fact Clinton does not include religion in the political discourse.

  2. Anonymous2:15 PM

He's pandering to the evangelicals and dominionists of course. They want a theocracy.

    1. Anonymous2:39 PM

They absolutely do. For all their screaming and waving the Constitution around, what do they NOT GET about the very first sentence of the Bill of Rights??????

    2. What will they think of this shit hitting the fan?

I have a feeling it is just beginning: all sorts of people will come out of the woodwork now that Trump is shown to be weak. About friggin' time. He is a hollow man, and knows it. Real men don't have to rape young girls.

    3. Anonymous5:24 PM

dRumpf is a closet fake christian Sex addict:

    4. Anonymous8:00 AM

Donald Trump will certainly pander to the dominionists and the fundamentalists but he will never have a genuine religious thought in his life.

  3. Randall2:16 PM

THE best way to rattle Trump, piss him off, throw him off his game
is to make fun of him.
    Tiny hands (tiny penis)
    Hilarious hair
    Orangutan blood
    Bankruptcies - chapter 11
    revolving-door, supermodel wives
    STUPID, he's really, really STUPID
Make fun of the way he speaks: "I have a good brain" "I have good words, the best words"

    needle him...
    ridicule him...
    Make fun of him...
    laugh at him...
Donald Trump is thin-skinned and not very bright. It will work. Trust me. It'll be YUUUGE!

    1. Anonymous2:55 PM

Hillary Clinton and Elizabeth Warren have been going after Trump and Elizabeth truly has been the attack dog!

They have been way ahead of you, 2:16 PM! Haven't you been listening or watching them?

    2. Anonymous3:43 PM

I've wondered if he'll have a nervous breakdown but he has no grip on reality to begin with. He is so like Sarah Palin that it's scary.

    3. Anonymous3:35 AM

I have been saying it for months the best way to get the Donald is to make fun of him with the TRUTH.

He gets so angry, maybe he will give himself a heart attack or nervous breakdown and all he can respond with is more nasty smears or name calling.

I loved the joke about all his books end with chapter 11. HA HA

I bet he was having a temper tantrum after that one, the best part is he can't deny that he bankrupted 4 companies, who knows maybe there were more.

Also we have already caught onto his "I don't know, I have heard" followed by an innuendo speeches, too chicken to come out and lie.

That way he can weasel his way out and say I never called her a Muslim blah blah, while continuing to pander to his base, who would believe the earth is flat if he told them.

  4. Anonymous2:16 PM

I haven't heard him call her a lesbian yet. Will he go there? Oh yes.

    1. Anonymous2:53 PM

Well, since Trump's own wife did girl on girl soft core porn...

    2. Anonymous3:21 PM

      Hillary and Huma?
I'd pay money to watch that!
      Link please!

    3. Anonymous5:06 PM

That is the last card to play>
      ;-0 that makes me smile.
HRC heard that one loooonnnnggg ago.
      You go Girl...(s)

    4. Anonymous6:26 PM

3:21 - Google is your friend. Have you not seen them?

  5. Anonymous2:19 PM

I wish he would just own his lack of faith, and on the flip side, it's pretty hard to support any candidate that is silly enough to believe.

    1. Anonymous3:38 PM

But, but, but - Trump is a guy who never tells the truth. More and more 'stuff' is coming out about him that truly discredits him!

He'll never be elected POTUS and will bring down the Republican party!

Similar as to what John McCain and Sarah Palin did in 2008! Remember, Americans?

  6. Anonymous2:21 PM

That tweet from Hillary made me laugh out loud. She must have hired Jon Stewart to write for her. :)

    1. Anonymous2:53 PM

Whoever runs her Twitter account is aces.

  7. Anonymous2:27 PM

For six years in the late-'90's - early -2000's, I was executive director of a charitable organization affiliated with the Methodist Church. Over 15,000 people volunteered with us each year, mostly high school kids. Chelsea Clinton was a regular. Bill and Hillary were regular ACTIVE members of Foundry United Methodist Church, Washington, DC.

Donald Trump is a real POS.

    1. Anonymous2:52 PM

He's an ass that hasn't practiced any religion in his adult life. He can't prove he attends one on a regular basis or has supported a specific church in New York throughout his adulthood.

    2. Anonymous3:04 PM

My sincerest hope for America's future is that all you religious people will just start taking care of your own, and all the downtrodden so my tax dollars can be used for things other that social welfare.

That's what you people do with that 10% tithing, right, take care of people?

Oh wait you don't. Instead you send them overseas on mission trips to brainwash the innocents in third world countries in exchange for a bag of dirty rice.

    3. Anonymous3:23 PM

Thank you, Old Redneck. I am proud to have been raised as a Methodist. I saw that Hillary and Chelsea spoke at your church in the past year, as it was on the front board on the street! I took a photo of it in DC and sent it to my mom!

    4. Anonymous4:24 PM

What do you know about it, 3:04 PM?
      Posturing at its finest.

    5. Anonymous4:52 PM

2:52 If he ever stepped foot in any church his first action would be to push the good pastor/minister out of the pulpit and start yammering about himself. There is no way on this planet that this egotistical maniac rat bastard would every sit still and listen to someone else for an hour or so.

    6. Anonymous3:38 AM

The reason we do not hear Hillary speak about her religion is she believes in the separation of church and state.

As long as someone doesn't push their religion on me, I could careless if they what religion they want to practice.

    7. Harper Lee funneled a great deal of her "To Kill a Mockingbird" money into Merhodist causes. Her like-minded older sister Alice Lee, still practicing law past age 100 until her death, helped desegregate that church in the South.

Two Methodist ladies that rock(ed), plus Hillary.

  8. SallyinMI2:30 PM

I am SO impressed with Hillary. Her zingers are dead on, not the least bit embellished, and Trump cannot help but respond. Meanwhile, she leaves his lies alone-why respond to an idiot. Kind of like when asked about Palin, Obama responded, "I don't think about her at all."
Hillary's time is now. Let's give her a Congress she can work with to turn this nation around.

    1. Anonymous2:50 PM

So agree with you, 2:30 PM. Mrs. Clinton has the experience and knowledge to step into the roll of POTUS in January, 2017!

She has my vote in November!

    2. Anonymous2:53 PM

YEAH. It could happen. It could really happen.

    3. Anonymous3:34 PM

It WILL happen - Hillary Clinton will beat the shit out of Donald Trump. He's not going to know what hit him!

    4. Anonymous4:55 PM

How do you all think the debates will go?

    5. Anonymous3:40 AM

The Democrats have to keep up the momentum and not get complacent about winning in November. We need to get record numbers out to defeat Trump, no matter how crazy we think he is.

    6. Correct. However, not only does Hillary have the GOTV ground game, reportedly she's inherited President Obama's resources and strategists, along with his support.

      GOTV 2016!!

  9. Anonymous2:31 PM

    Classic projection.

  10. Anonymous2:35 PM

There is ever a new low to come from Trump.

  11. Anonymous2:40 PM

It seems that might be his newest strategy - portraying himslef as a super-xtian. He seems to have surrounded himself with quite a few 'religious' freaks from the likes of the Duggar family's American Family group... (I forgot the name, but they are the flaky ones who insist they are all pro family, totally xtian that are completely against birthcontrol and abortion, and against Planned Parenthood etc). One of the crazies seems to be Michelle Bachman.
That says it all, ye of 'two Corinthians' tRump!

    1. Anonymous3:29 PM

two Corinthians walk in a bar....

    2. Susie Ethel4:52 PM

I still laugh at Trumps use of the term "communion cracker".

    3. Anonymous4:53 PM

Bill committed adultery once that we know of. Trump committed adultery two times that we know of and lusted after his young beautiful daughter.
Bill's not running for President so when Donald gives his yoooge speech on the Clintons (not Hillary but the Clintons) tomorrow just keep that in mind. Hillary worked on her marriage, Donald, not so much.

    4. Anonymous9:25 PM

Bill Clinton has committed adultery so many times as to be uncountable on both hands, however, he and Hillary seem to be fine with it, and perhaps Donald's wives are too.

Face it, if you were married either one of them would you want to engage in carnal knowledge?

      I thought so. Gross!

    5. Anonymous3:42 AM

@ 9:25 PM Personally their marriages are none of our business.

That is between them and from what I can see has nothing to do on how Bill or Hillary performed their duties as president, senator, governor, or secretary of state.

  12. Anonymous2:47 PM

If elected, Trump will mandate and head state religion to protect us from Muslims and Catholics. If elected, he will constantly crave adulation and will use his power. Count on him nominating his daughter as vice president. She gets along well with others and ensure Trumps policies are carried out.

Ivanka and Melanie look alike except for hair color. Kind of creeps me out.

    1. Anonymous3:32 PM

Their entire Trump family creeps me out - his kids and wife appear rigid when on camera. Not warm and gentle in spirit at all!

There is zero comparison between them and the Obamas! The Obamas outshine them in every category!

    2. Anonymous3:45 AM

I missed the Nightline segment last night on what roles the creepy children are going to play in Trump's administration.

I am sure a major position will be to keep anyone who doesn't agree 100% with Donnie away from the Oval Office.

  13. Anonymous2:49 PM

Trump truly is a fucking idiot and doesn't have a clue how ridiculous he looks!

Hillary Clinton is going to wipe out his fat ass big time when she wins the election in November!

Can hardly wait to see his huge ego shattered to smithereens!

  14. Anonymous2:50 PM

Bad mistake after huge mistake after ugly mistake. So desperate he tosses in some suspicion about Hillary's religious legitimacy. It's bizarre. He takes every opportunity to further his own demise.

    1. Anonymous3:09 PM

Unfortunately, many of his "faithful" don't care and will vote for him anyway. They have no CLUE what they're in for if their dream comes true.

    2. Anonymous4:30 PM

Remember, the number of voters he might have in the Republican party do not constitute the majority of their party and he surely won't garner the majority of the Democratic and Independent voters.

      He's going down!

The media and press continue to hype him - to nausea! And, it's all for ratings and money! It's sickening! Stop watching the various TV channels and cable, Americans! Make them fail along w/Trump!

  15. Anonymous3:02 PM

"Essentially Trump seems to have run out of attacks that are specific to Hillary"
Trump is a douche extraordinaire fer sure.
He's got some serious ammo now though...

    1. Anonymous4:56 PM

Is that you "Frozen Justice"? lol

    2. Anonymous6:28 PM

All Guccifer, all the time! LOL

  16. Anonymous3:12 PM

If the evanhelligals fall for cheeto's bullshit they deserve every bit of scorn and ridicule that will come their way.

    1. Anonymous3:55 PM

      LMAO cheetos!

  17. Anonymous3:15 PM

What a total idiot. She's Methodist. Always has been. Wesleyan was founded as a Methodist university. I swear he is trying to fail by displaying such complete idiocy.

    1. Wellesley, not Weslyan.

    2. Anonymous4:43 PM

HRC graduated from Wellesley but Weslyan College was founded by the Methodists.

  18. Anita Winecooler3:26 PM

It's at the point where we can play "Donald Trump Mad Libs". Take your little wafer and sip of wine, Donald. Bring a straw for the ball and chain, her lips don't meet and she may drool all over herself.
Where are your taxes and what's taking so long to release them? Paying family members? Charitable giving and your real net worth.

  19. Trump is a fake asshole. No wonder Sarahtard likes him. He reminds her of herself."TWO Corinthians"

    1. Anonymous4:24 PM

Two anti-Christ human beings that evil, frauds, liars and raving jokes as to marriage, etc.!

Both are destined to Hell according to 'their' supposed Christian beliefs!

  20. Anonymous3:47 PM

Bachmann to be spiritual advisor for tRUMP.

    1. Anonymous7:52 AM

Sarah Palin's feelings must be hurt. After all, she's always claimed to be Miss (faux) Christianity.

  21. Anonymous3:53 PM

Donald Trump doesn't have time to be Potus. It's about time he tossed Melania to the curb in search for number four.

    1. Anonymous4:22 PM

She has a masculine face! Not naturally pretty at all!

    2. 4:22, whatever Melania had that was "natural" is long gone.

  22. Anonymous3:54 PM

    Trump is deranged.

  23. Anonymous4:01 PM

We don't need no fake religion.. We don't need no Donald Trump.

    1. Anonymous4:33 PM

no dark sarcasm from a Palin. Idgits, leave the world alone. HEY, IDGITS, leave the world alone! All in all, it was another dick and his fall.

  24. Anonymous4:23 PM

Wow, he is a strange business person. Usually a business person has a goal and action plan. I guess he does but is bully in everything. No wonder he has so many do overs-bankruptcies.

  25. Anonymous4:24 PM

I am sure that this may be unpopular here but the history of Mohammad is very interesting. see Reza Aslan books.
Christianity is brutal, particularly how among Christian sects. Trump certainly in the future has the Pope in his site for revenge. Such a great Pope too.

    1. Anonymous6:30 PM

I find all religion very interesting; world religion helps humans to grapple with what it means to be alive--and afterwards.

  26. Anonymous4:59 PM

    Donald Trump = total fuckwad

  27. Anonymous5:47 PM

    Trump / Palin 2016

    Every pimp needs a prostitute

  28. Anonymous6:00 PM

Look at Trump's tiny thumbs in the above photo! Can't help but think his penis is just as tiny!

You'd think he would have learned to sit on his hands by now and not show them when talking! He's as bad as Bernie in waiving his arms around!

Demean the guy every chance you get - always being truthful, of course!

  29. Anonymous6:01 PM

Here's an example of what the 'good Christian lawmakers' of Texas are doing to help the less fortunate.

A lawsuit was holding up a 25% cut, passed by state legislators in 2015, in Medicaid funds going to pay for in-home therapies like speech, occupational and physical therapies, for children with disabilities. Now that the lawsuit has been lost, the cuts will go through after all, starting in July. Children who don't receive the early intervention that has been proven to significantly improve their quality of life in the future, will need greater special education services in schools, which are already struggling under state budget cuts.

This from a state that prides itself on being pro-life and whose Lt Governor tweets out bible verses every Sunday. This is what our country can look forward to if we don't rid our government of heartless Republican politicians.

    1. Anonymous9:27 PM

Duh, it's the Democrats that like to give away all the free medical care and welfare. No Republican in their right mind would give two shits about some poor kids whose parents didn't try hard enough to make money to pay for their medical care.

Winners and losers, that's what America should be about not some pansy ass bleeding heart welfare state.

  30. Anonymous7:19 PM

Every Methodist I have ever met has been super nice to me Donald.

  31. Anonymous8:22 PM

In your photo CheetoJesus is actually discussing the size of his "hands".

  32. Anonymous12:31 AM

I think Donald likes to throw these crazy things out like that to confuse his followers. The more crazy things he sends their way about his opponents the farther he and they get from have to talk about solid issues that concern our nation. It's a well played ploy. Said it before and say it again, that if Hilary doesn't get into it with him, she'll be fine. The minute he starts name calling and she gets in with him, the shit hits the fan. She has to be the adult in this game because no one else will. I mean, look at how he managed to implicate Cruz's father into the JFK assassination. Geez, that came directly out of the book of playing to the paranoia of the crazed that troll youtube looking to explain every crazy thing in the Universe. Donald has that down to a tee.

  33. Anonymous12:46 AM

In Italy they are thrilled with Donald Trump. They say they were embarrassed by Berlosconi for so long they are laughing that it's America's turn to be the butt of global jokes and are grateful it has taken attention away from them.

They don't like Clinton much either but they recognize the danger Trump poses to the world.

    1. Anonymous9:41 AM

Did you see that people in Scotland are flying Mexican flags because they are tired of Donald trump claiming Scotland as his homeland?

    2. Heard some interesting stuff about Italian society on NPR a few weeks ago. Those who "rule" society are old, old wealthy and powerful families. Berlusconi, on the other hand, was an outsider from a poor family, who made his fortune in the media (newspapers, TV etc.) and he became popular with the outsiders/poor folk) who have always resented the rich and powerful. It took them awhile to recognize him as the crook and basically despicable human being he really is.
And yes, the Italians see a similarity between Berlusconi and Trump, although Trump's wealth was inherited. They certainly do recognize Trump as a danger to the world; their former hero made Italy a laughingstock. But the good news is that both Rome and Turin (or was it Milan) recently elected female mayors, and abortion is now legal, so Italy is finally in the 21st century!

  34. I don't know if Clinton is a true believer or a good actor. Nor do I care. Throughout the years, she and Bill have been consistent in their expressions of faith. Again, I don't care if they were nothing but show. As silly as I think it is, public officials are expected to demonstrate their piety. What interests me about Trump's meeting with the so called religious leaders is the blatant hypocrisy. It doesn't take a genius to recognize Trump knows almost nothing about the bible or faith. And yet those esteemed men of conscious sat with a charlatan and came away with expressions of support. As one said on MSNBC last night, it's not about one's past, but where one is now, which is an indication of spiritual growth. The religious community for the most part has always been in bed with the GOP. This is the way that meeting was going to go before it even started. Real men of conscience would have rejected the insinuations about Clinton, but that was not going to happen because the religious community likes to stoke fear and uncertainty about Democrats.

I read a lot here about being open minded to the fact that many people have a deep and abiding faith. That's find and I respect that. What I don't respect is people who wrap themselves in the values and principles of faith and yet have no trouble whatsoever endorsing racists, bigots, liars, and charlatans. In that meeting with Trump, religion took a backseat to politics.
