New information proves that Donald Trump wants to win the presidency, but has no desire to be the President.

Look I want to be President, but I want you to do all of the work. Deal?
Courtesy of New York Magazine:

The idea that Trump didn't actually want to win waned for a few days after he secured the nomination. But when the mogul chose to spend the first few weeks of his general-election campaign litigating the Mexican heritage of a federal judge, the notion gained renewed currency — especially after Vanity Fair reported that Trump was already discussing plans to channel his political following into a cable-news empire.

And yet, this is also a man who transparently hates losing. Especially in a public fashion. Thus, one might reason that the ideal outcome for Trump would be to somehow win the election but not actually have to serve as president.

According to Robert Draper of The New York Times Magazine, that is, in fact, how the mogul's campaign described his endgame to John Kasich, when trying to convince the Ohio governor to become Trump's running mate:

One day this past May, Donald Trump’s eldest son, Donald Trump Jr., reached out to a senior adviser to Gov. John Kasich of Ohio, who left the presidential race just a few weeks before. As a candidate, Kasich declared in March that Trump was “really not prepared to be president of the United States,” and the following month he took the highly unusual step of coordinating with his rival Senator Ted Cruz in an effort to deny Trump the nomination. But according to the Kasich adviser (who spoke only under the condition that he not be named), Donald Jr. wanted to make him an offer nonetheless: Did he have any interest in being the most powerful vice president in history?

When Kasich’s adviser asked how this would be the case, Donald Jr. explained that his father’s vice president would be in charge of domestic and foreign policy.

Then what, the adviser asked, would Trump be in charge of?

“Making America great again” was the casual reply.

As with so many of his ventures, Trump would like to brand his administration — but not actually run it.

You know I have been saying this for months.

Donald Trump does NOT want to be President.

And if he wins he is going to follow Sarah Palin's example and just quit.

That means if he were to win the election the effective President of the United States would be freaking Mike Pence.

I'm actually not sure if that is better or worse.

But what I do know is that Republicans are the most gullible dumb asses on the planet.

Gullible is right. Just like the people who have bought Trump's "I'm so successful and so smart" BS for decades. He's successful at skirting laws, making money by going bankrupt, and cheating on his wives. Otherwise, what has he done? I have yet to hear ONE positive thing from this campaign. It's all fear and hate. And nice little bumper stickers, like Palin. Trump versus Tramp. Nice. Hard to stay on the high road when you have opponents openly calling for your public hanging.

      Exactly.

      He's not going to quit.

He's going to host a lot of state dinners and fly around the world to be fawned all over.

But work? Hell no. They'll be lucky to get him to sit still long enough to sign anything.

No, the work will be delegated out to everyone. His staffers will make a lot of policy and the Republicans will spend a lot of time working on their own to get their agendas passed.

The bulk of the work of the President will fall on the Vice President. He will essentially run the country in the shadows behind Donald Trump.

Trump will be a figurehead. He's always been a figurehead. In the case of President, since he knows very little about politics or governing, his interference will be minimal and the Republicans will keep a tight rein on him policy-wise.

But he can have as many dinners, trips and vacations at Camp David as he likes.

(So it's PENCE that is the real danger.)

Is that why Trump had second thoughts about Pence and really wanted Chris Christie as his VP?

Christie has been showing he's a YES man to Trump and if Christie was VP, when Trump said jump, Christie would say "How high Mr. Trump?" Pence is too old to be jumping and fetching Trump's dry cleaning and would tell Trump to kiss his ass.

Trump, Kasich feud over 'most powerful' VP offer

CNN)Donald Trump and John Kasich's teams are at war over whether the Republican presidential nominee ever seriously wanted the Ohio governor to join the ticket.

Multiple sources close to Kasich said Trump's son, Donald Jr., tried to entice Kasich with a position as the most powerful vice president in history, but he turned it down. Kasich would have been in charge of all domestic and foreign policy in a Trump White House, Kasich sources said.
But Trump's communications adviser insisted Wednesday that, while a call occurred between Donald Trump Jr. and top Kasich adviser John Weaver, a vice presidential offer was never on the table.

Donald Trump claimed the GOP presidential nomination on Tuesday, and his chance to become president may hinge on capturing Ohio — a quintessential swing state whose coal-country voters turned out in droves for the mogul in March, though Ohio Gov. John Kasich carried the state easily.

But at the Ohio delegation’s breakfast Wednesday morning, you’d barely know Trump was the Republican Party’s standard-bearer. In speech after speech — from House Speaker Paul Ryan to Sen. Rob Portman to Rep. Pat Tiberi to state party Chairman Matt Borges and a string of business leaders — Trump was either an afterthought or went entirely unmentioned.

The Secret Service is investigating comments made by New Hampshire state representative Al Baldasaro in which he said Hillary Clinton “should be put in the firing line and shot for treason.”

“The U.S. Secret Service is aware of this matter and will conduct the appropriate investigation,” Secret Service spokesman Robert Hoback told POLITICO in an email.

Baldasaro's comments, which were first reported by BuzzFeed, came during an interview on the Jeff Kuhner Show, during which he also called Clinton “a piece of garbage.”

“She is a disgrace for the lies that she told those mothers about their children that got killed over there in Benghazi,” he said. “She dropped the ball on over 400 emails requesting back up security. Something’s wrong there.”

Hope Hicks, a spokeswoman for the Trump campaign, told POLITICO in an email that, "The campaign does not agree with these statements."

Baldasaro, who is a Trump delegate, has appeared at Trump campaign events and has advised him on veterans issues.

Clinton communications director Jennifer Palmieri condemned the remarks from Baldasaro.

“Donald Trump's overtaking of the Republican party — and his constant escalation of outrageous rhetoric — is in danger of mainstreaming the kind of hatred that has long been relegated to the fringes of American politics where it belongs," she said in an email statement to POLITICO. "This week at the Republican convention, we've seen the clearest embodiment yet of this dangerous phenomenon."

Former Obama adviser: Clinton can win without Florida, Ohio and Virginia

Hillary Clinton can fall short of victory in three major swing states and still beat Donald Trump in November, according to former 2008 Obama campaign manager David Plouffe.

“Hillary Clinton can lose Florida, Ohio and Virginia, and I think she’ll win all three, and still be president," Plouffe remarked during a Bloomberg Politics event Wednesday in Cleveland during the Republican National Convention.

While acknowledging that Clinton has an "enthusiasm" issue, Plouffe predicted that the presumptive nominee's poll numbers will improve after next week's Democratic National Convention in Philadelphia.

The election will not be close, Plouffe said, because although the Clinton campaign's voter models are not as sophisticated as Obama's, they are miles ahead of the Trump campaign in that respect.

“The truth is the Clinton campaign knows almost with certainty who is going to vote in this election” and how they will do so, Plouffe added.

Shocker: Melania Trump, wife of world’s most famous birther, admires the Obamas’ American values

...The big news here is that Melania Trump has admitted to liking and being inspired by Michelle Obama. As I noted yesterday, the part of Ms. Obama’s speech that Ms. Trump appropriated was explicitly about our shared values and aspirations as Americans. Ms. Obama — and, emulating her, Ms. Trump — extolled the value of hard work, and the idea that as Americans, there are theoretically no limits on our ambitions and our ability to realize them, provided we are willing to put in the persistence, effort and imagination needed to do so. Ms. Obama — and, emulating her, Ms. Trump — both gave voice to the idea that these shared American values require us to respect one another, and that they will pass them down to their children to keep the American experiment going.

But even more to the point, the speech that Ms. Trump admired and emulated featured Ms. Obama talking about how she and her husband Barack live by these American values. “Barack and I were raised with so many of these same values,” Ms. Obama’s speech says. “Barack and I set out to build lives guided by these values.” Ms. Trump, then, was inspired by the Obamas’ American experience.

How Hillary Clinton can win over horrified Republicans

With the official nomination of Donald Trump as the Republican Party’s presidential nominee, Hillary Clinton has the opponent of her dreams — someone whose character, preparation and views are so defective as to make last night’s roll call a devastating moment in the lives of many Republicans. The GOP has had magnificent nominees (Abraham Lincoln) and likable nominees (Ronald Reagan, Dwight D. Eisenhower). It’s had admirable nominees who lost (Mitt Romney) and flawed nominees who won (Richard Nixon). It has never — and we certainly include Barry Goldwater — had a nominee who embarrasses and disgusts a significant number of people in his own party. How does Clinton, without endangering support in her own ranks, reach out to Republicans to secure her win? Here are five steps she can take:

I love the stories of Marla intentionally attending the church Donald attended, so she could approach Don. God moves in mysterious ways. Philly.com:

      Trump Romance A Religious Experience?

      Daily News Wire Services
      POSTED: February 15, 1990
NEW YORK — Donald Trump and the "other woman" met in - guess where - church.
Yes, it was romance among the pews, according to a source, giving the current flap over the breakup of the billionaire real estate tycoon's marriage a fresh, tongue-clucking twist.
The source, who spoke on condition of anonymity, told the Associated Press that Trump, 43, and actress-model Marla Maples, 26, sat together "fairly regularly at Sunday services at New York's venerable Marble Collegiate Church."
And to think, that was where Donald and Ivana were married almost 13 years ago

A guy would really have to be a hot piece of ass before I'd step into a house of worship to try to snag him!

I like men with money as much as the next woman, but damn, I don't know if there is any amount that could make me lay with that fat fucker, much less go into "god's country" to try to snag him :-)

Forced Indiana taxpayers to support religious schools. Pence needs to be beaten to a pulp by Sr. Borgia.

No wonder Trump didn't want Palin. He needs someone with half a brain to do
his work. He will probably replace the chair in the oval room with a gold gilded throne if he wins.

    1. Yep. Palin pulled that lazy ass shit in Alaska; making Todd do the work, or hiring a manager for a very small town. Can't have two fricking lazyass Narcissists, and Trump knew that.

Ya know, it's really saying something that Mrs. Palin relied on Todd for her decision making as Governor because really, he's no brain trust either.

Put the two of them together and you get perhaps a normal IQ. But still, two dummies did not a Governor make. Thank goodness, although our latest Governor is no gem, for sure.

No they don't 5:20 - gold can be a color or mean made of the precious metal. gilded ia a cheap overlay - which would be T.RUmp and his three wived "family."

He doesn't actually want to DO the job, he just wants to say that he WON the job. He wants to say he won and that's it.

Yeah, what I suspected long ago. His entire campaign is a publicity stunt and business venture. He should have been denied the nomination.

I'm fine with any idiot who wants attention to run for President. But I am not okay with a sham candidate winning the nomination of ANY party. It's just so serious to be allowed.

After Trump loses, more things will leak out. I wonder if it will somehow change the nominating process to prevent something like this from happening again. I expect that would be hard to do, though.

So that's the plan? Let Mike Pence do the hard work and claim the credit? Pure Donald. Hitler did the speeches and Himmler did the orchestrating of the concentration camps.

This is classic Trump. He can't follow through--He lends his name to whatever business enterprise he views as a potential money maker (until it's not) and then steps back and garners royalties from said ventures. He thinks being president is like the acting CEO job...Show up shuffle some papers around, a few photo ops, an audience or two with the little people and hit the golf course. He doesn't begin to understand the complexities of holding the highest job in the nation.

If by some god awful turn of events he's actually elected, yes he will resign and we'll be stuck with a President Pence. Yea. Rah. How fortunate for us. Not.

I'm truly afraid. I cannot imagine what is going to happen to us if he's elected...what kind of world we're going to have move in.

Contest now open for comments. What should the Democrats say at the convention next week that would rival all the chants at the hatefest that's been going on all week in Cleveland? If Hillary is assassinated we all know who to blame and they better be rounded up and arrested pronto. I believe I actually saw people foaming at the mouth they were so riled up.

Florida Gov Scott said Trump will wipe out ISIS.

Did anybody tell FL Gov Scott that the VP in the Trump Administration will be in charge of the domestic and foreign policies while President Trump will be the rah-rah guy in charge of saying Make America Great?

The only good thing is that he will fight hard to wipe out the ISIS cells that are here and keep any more from coming into this country.

Let's let Europe handle the Muslim refugee crisis, since it's working out so well for them. America says, "No More".

I thought Trump said he was going to use NATO to wipe out ISIS.

No one asked how he plans to do that since he wants to dismantle NATO.

Donald Trump does NOT want to be President.
And if he wins he is going to follow Sarah Palin's example and just quit.
    ------------------------
I don’t think he would quit, he will be puppet president, like George W. and use the government to make money for his businesses.

What I find disgusting is the GOP knows the Donald is unqualified, a liar and sociopath, yet they have no qualms about endorsing and promoting him.

I thought Karl Rove managed to scrap the bottom of the barrel when it came to dirty campaigns, but Trump has surpassed him by leaps and bounds.

Is it true if Ivanka wasn't Donald's daughter he would be banging her, I'm sorry, I meant dating her?

Ivanka must be his favorite piece, I see the Donald passing up his other daughters and sitting next to Ivanka. Give it up Donald, you should be sitting next to your foreign wife. The one you were cheating with when you were married to your second wife.

But according to the Kasich adviser (WHO SPOKE ONLY UNDER THE CONDITION THAT HE NOT BE NAMED), Donald Jr. wanted to make him an offer nonetheless

You know, this anonymous source bullshit is what I used to be able to call the right out on, for being gullible enough to believe every thing they read.

Not any more. Thanks to articles like these they can throw it right back in my face.
