So yeah it seems like there is a campaign going on to deny Donald Trump access to security briefings. Just tell me where to sign.

Courtesy of NBC News:

Calls have increased for Republican nominee Donald Trump to be denied national security briefings offered to presidential nominees of major political parties after he said he hopes Russia is "able to find" Democratic nominee Hillary Clinton's discarded private emails.

Senate Minority Leader Harry Reid said he hopes the candidate is given "fake intelligence briefings … because you can't trust him."

And Democratic Rep. David Cicilline of Rhode Island has sent a letter to President Barack Obama saying Trump "is unfit to receive sensitive intelligence" and asks that he "withhold" Trump's expected intelligence briefing.

A petition by the liberal group CREDO has amassed more than 80,000 signatories in less than 24 hours urging that Trump receive no security briefings.

You know I find is ironic that just a couple of weeks ago Paul Ryan was making a stink about denying Hillary Clinton access to security briefings due to her e-mail "scandal" and now this week there are far more legitimate concerns about the candidate representing his own party.

You know all partisanship and joking aside, I REALLY do think that giving Donald Trump access to anything deemed top secret is a very dangerous idea.

So HAPPY to read this. I think I was one who signed that petition. (I sign so many these days I can't keep track.)

It entered my mind a few days ago that he could be fed misinformation and then when it show up -- from his mouth, or some other country, etc. it would be proof of his incompetence and/or his being in collusion with people he should not be talking to.

Every time I see a photo of Trump's fat face, I want to beat the heck out of him! He is pure evil and should NOT have access to anything concerning our foreign affairs!

President Obama is far smarter than Trump and I'm betting he/they have already figured out how to handle this situation. Remember, President Obama has ALWAYS been a step ahead of Republicans in their fucking games throughout his near two terms!

I'm continually amazed how the Republicans in our U.S. Congress are NOT coming out anti Trump!

Take for example - Lisa Murkowski of Alaska - who is up for reelection in Alaska. She is pro Trump!!! Vote her out of office, Alaskans! She's not smart, hasn't accomplished anything in the 'do nothing Congress' and is much like her father, Frank Murkowski, who was in the banking industry years ago. His bank went in the tank statewide! He was as inept as a banker as is Lisa!

Vote Hillary Clinton! She has the strength, experience and knowledge to do the job as POTUS. Trump would be a dictator and the second coming of Hitler II! (And, Republicans in Congress endorse him!!! Holy, holy, holy!)

saw this by Patrick Man at Politico. The last article on Politico about this subject was on July 19.

"Oh man are the Dems going to miss Roger Ailes, he's turned the GOP into a salacious reality show that can throw chairs but can't do anything resembling governing or winning the highest office. The dems are looking to win the popular vote in 6 of the last 7 presidential elections and not coincidentally that time period corresponds with the time that Ailes spread his metaphorical asscheeks wide over DC and gave the political system a good push. When he's gone the Dems will build a shrine to him to thank him for all of his years of service."

It brings back childhood memories of living every day with a background feeling of fear of what the Soviets would love to do to us. I remember growing up with bomb shelters, bomb drills, and a near constant state of worry. Putin is an old KGB guy and would dearly love to reinstate the Soviet Union again. I saw a comment late last night that said that our old pal, Steve Schmidt, had made an on-air comment that the Trump/Russia story was really a big deal.

Schmidt also said to watch to see if someone from the campaign was denied a security clearance, and that that information would be very damaging.

Now, I don't know how many, or what level of persons from a campaign would need a security clearance. But, I wouldn't think that number would be very high. Security clearances take some time, and hence, cost money. I also wouldn't think that any national security information would be shared with many people besides the candidate, for actual national security reasons.

I have not had time to look for a video of Schmidt's statement. Is Schmidt talking about Trump himself?

Voting rights expert: ‘Criminal’ NC GOP tried to block black voters with ‘almost surgical precision’

“Republicans in North Carolina targeted all the methods that African-Americans had used successfully: early voting, same day voter registration,” Berman went on. “These are things that allowed Barack Obama to win North Carolina in 2008 by a very small margin. That’s why the court found that this was intentional criminal discrimination, that the North Carolina legislature knew black voters were going to be the target and that’s why they did it. It wasn’t about stopping voter fraud.”

America’s intelligence community doesn’t trust Donald Trump. At all. Period. While both Hillary and Trump are slated to start getting intelligence briefings now that they’ve formally accepted their parties’ nominations, many intelligence officials are very wary of briefing Trump. In fact, one senior official had nothing good to say about Trump when it comes to giving him those briefings.

The official spoke to the Washington Post on the condition of anonymity, but didn’t mince words at all:

“I would refuse. He’s been so uninterested in the truth and so reckless with it when he sees it.”

Boom! That’s an indictment of Trump’s trustworthiness if there ever was one.

This election isn’t just Democrat vs. Republican. It’s normal vs. abnormal.

What we just witnessed in Cleveland and Philadelphia defies our normal political vocabulary. We are used to speaking of American politics as split between the two major parties. It’s Democrats versus Republicans, liberals versus conservatives, left versus right.

But not this election. The conventions showed that this is something different. This campaign is not merely a choice between the Democratic and Republican parties, but between a normal political party and an abnormal one.

Yesterday he complained that Hillary was guilty of name-calling when she called Trump a demagogue but he overlooks "crooked Hillary," "lyin' Ted Cruz," "little Marco" etc. Clearly Pence has sold his soul to the devil. I think Pence looks like a Nazi Officer of long ago! Look at his photos! Frightening visual! And, Trump picked him! Neither should represent our country in anything!

Vlad has probably already hacked all of that info, so withholding it from cheeto jeebus, shouldn't cause any problems for Russia.

dRUMPf should be kept from any security information and be tried for treason.

Little JFK Jr used to call his father "Poopoo head." That seemed okay for a two-year old, although his father did tell him it's not okay. I guess no one told Trump that it's not okay to remain at the toddler stage of communicating.

So we have the election of:
    -- Dem vs Repub
    -- normal vs crazy
-- adult mind vs toddler mind
    -- decent vs the opposite
    -- hardworking vs not
-- lifelong political effort vs not
-- rigorously intelligent vs sly, conniving

How about assigning a cute, buxom blonde 25 year old officer from the National Security Advisers office to be Drumpf's personal national security liaison to personally liaise with him on national security matters, beauty pageants, penis size, professional wrestling or whatever strikes the fancy of that nasty orange demagogue-in-waiting? It's not as if he really gives a shit about national security unless it involves his soulmate Putin's nefarious agenda.

Poopoo head may get elected. Think of the millions of poopoo heads who inhabit this country who will vote for him. I see a tiny minority of their bumper stickers and their general conveyances. Racist losers who want to blame others for their own ignorance and failure. The big demi-GOD faux billionaire will make it all better by throwing out the 'others'. Depressing.

My 18 yer old , who will vote for the first time in Nov has figured out the master plan .
If Drumpf wins, He and his vP will be taken out (i.e. an "accident") leaving Paul Ryan as President.
    Go Democrats!

Not sure if he's right about Pence, but I would bet, after the debacle of the GOP convention and the outrageous and reprehensible comments Trump has made since, they have a plan to quickly and efficiently remove him from office should he win.

I always said there was a similar plan in place to deal with Palin if McCain had won.

I signed the petition at CREDO to deny him security briefings........they were already over 157,000.

I usually don't sign these kinds of things, but Trump is scaring the hell out of me.

Briefings are a courtesy and tradition, not required by law.

The president decides if they take place and exactly how much is divulged.

"“As a legal matter, the president can tell the nominees as much or as little as he believes is necessary or prudent,” said Susan Hennessey of the Brookings Institution, adding that President Obama had indicated that he would allow intelligence officials to make the determination about what information Mr. Trump and Mrs. Clinton will receive.

“With all forms of sharing classified information, there is a strong tendency to err on the side of caution,” she said.

Shortly after the November election, the president-elect will receive a more detailed set of intelligence briefings."

How many times are we going to have to bail the country out of chaos created by Republicans?

First it was two illegal wars with no exit plans and not paid for. Then they helped crash the economy throwing us into a depression.

Now they nominate Traitor Trump the most unqualified candidate in the history of the USA as well as a sociopath. Again, it is left up to the Democrats to save the democracy because they couldn’t stand up to the guy in the primaries.
