What the hell Russia? |
A computer network used by Democratic presidential nominee Hillary Clinton’s campaign was hacked as part of a broad cyber attack on Democratic political organizations, people familiar with the matter told Reuters.
The latest attack, which was disclosed to Reuters on Friday, follows two other hacks on the Democratic National Committee, or DNC, and the party’s fundraising committee for candidates for the U.S. House of Representatives.
A Clinton campaign spokesman said in a statement late on Friday that an analytics data program maintained by the DNC and used by the campaign and a number of other entities "was accessed as part of the DNC hack."
"Our campaign computer system has been under review by outside cyber security experts. To date, they have found no evidence that our internal systems have been compromised," said Clinton campaign spokesman Nick Merrill.
So at this point we now know that the Russians hacked the White House, the State Department, the DNC, and now the Hillary Clinton campaign.
Do you know who WASN'T hacked?
The hack did not involve the private email system Clinton used while she was secretary of state.
Here's an idea.
Instead of everybody freaking out about Hillary Clinton's private e-mail server, and accusing her of putting top secret information at risk, they should instead ask her to set up every other e-mail server used by government agencies or political organizations in order to protect them from hackers as well.
Just a thought.
And by the way can we now stop pretending that the Russians are not trying to stop Hillary Clinton from being elected?
One paragraph that explains why Russia hacking the Democrats should bother everyone

I've been thinking that for months.
ReplyDeleteElaine in Canada
that's a good one.
ReplyDeleteIt says Clinton's system wasn't part of *this* hack. It doesn't claim the Clinton's system was never hacked. Your Clinton bias is affecting your reading comprehension.
ReplyDeleteAnd yours isn't?
DeleteSo are you saying her system WAS hacked genius?
DeleteGod you are ridiculous, four comments in a row. You don't understand cyber security at all and your evil, wishful thinking will not change the FACTS.
DeleteIn case your memory of 3 weeks ago is impaired, Comey said:
ReplyDelete“it is possible that hostile actors gained access to Secretary Clinton’s personal e-mail account.”
The fact that something is possible does not mean that something happened. Currently there is no evidence that anybody hacked Clinton's private server.
DeleteAnd if it WAS hacked that certainly can no longer mean that it was less secure than other e-mail systems or servers, because we now KNOW that virtually everybody else has been hacked.
Including those systems that we once believed to be secure.
It's possible I might die in my sleep tonight or you might. But at least concerning my health that probability is pretty low.
Delete"if it WAS hacked that certainly can no longer mean that it was less secure than other e-mail systems or servers"
DeleteWhich is walked back a number of steps from the hyperbolic claim that Clinton's system is so secure she can show everybody else how it's done. Puh-leez.
Her private email was hacked. They're just saving releasing that until the month before the election. There's no way it wasn't hacked. And her Blackberry was certainly hacked when she carried it overseas. Almost anybody in business knows not to carry US cell phones overseas.
ReplyDeleteAnd where is your proof of this? BTW everyone in business carries their private phones abroad.
DeleteThe investigation of Clinton's private email server has been completed. There is no additional information to release.
DeleteYou are losing it dude.
ReplyDeleteI have no doubt that the Russian government also hacked Trump's networks. The difference is that they want to leak Clinton's information to the public to prevent her from winning the election.
ReplyDeleteThey'll keep Trump's information to use as leverage to control him.
Scary times.
O/T Traitor Don is at it again, is there anyone left to insult? He has the audacity to compare his “sacrifices” for his businesses comparable to losing a son. Well we can check off lack of empathy another Trump trait. He is pure scum of the earth.
ReplyDeleteDonald Trump attacks Muslim father's convention speech
By LISA LERER and JONATHAN LEMIRE - The Associated Press
In a well-received Democratic convention speech, Muslim lawyer Khizr Khan said Trump has "sacrificed nothing and no one" for his country. Trump disputed that Saturday, saying he'd given up a lot for his businesses.
"I've made a lot of sacrifices. I work very, very hard. I've created thousands and thousands of jobs, tens of thousands of jobs, built great structures," he said, in an interview with ABC's "This Week."
He added: "Sure those are sacrifices."
Khan gave a moving tribute to their son, Humayun, who posthumously received a Bronze Star and a Purple Heart after he was killed by a suicide bomber in Iraq in 2004.
Trump also reiterated his criticism of Khan's wife, Ghazala, who stood silently on stage, wearing a headscarf. "If you look at his wife, she was standing there. She had nothing to say. She probably, maybe she wasn't allowed to have anything to say. You tell me."
Ghazala Khan has said she didn't speak because she's still overwhelmed by her grief and can't even look at photos of her son without crying. Trump's comments sparked immediate outrage on social media, both for attacking a mourning mother and because many considered them racist and anti-Muslim.
Where has all the outrage been for Trump when he insulted John McCain for being a POW and now insulted this family whose son made the ultimate sacrifice to save his fellow soldiers from a bomb?
DeleteOnce again, talk is cheap from the GOP when it comes to supporting and respecting the military.
The main problem with Trump is that he is so obviously mentally ill. The GOP establishment members that endorsed him are going to regret that decision.
DeleteSure, he's created hundreds of minimum wage jobs that go to foreign workers and he stiffs anyone who works for him on contract: architects, construction workers.
DeleteWow, feel so bad for anyone that used CC to donate. This will only grow larger. If I was a donating person, which I am not, I'd right now cancel any card used for political DNC donations.
ReplyDeleteThat's why I only use virtual numbers for online purchases or donations.
DeleteWith my particular credit card, you can get a new number each time you charge something online or over the phone. The virtual number is linked back to your real account and you can set time and amount limits so, even if someone gets your number, they can't really use it.
My regular account number was stolen twice before I started using virtual numbers and I feel a LOT more secure about buying things online now.
I suspect that whomever hacked it the 2nd and 3rd time may have gotten the info on how to hack it from the first people that were caught hacking the DNC and were not prosecuted.
ReplyDelete"Nixon abused the office of the presidency by seeking to use its public powers for his own personal and political ends. He compiled an “enemies list” of political opponents and journalists deemed unfriendly, and sought IRS audits, denial of government contracts, and prosecutions based on the list.
ReplyDeleteBut at least Nixon knew enough to try to keep his enemies list secret. "
"Nixon famously displayed a remarkable view of the scope of presidential power when he told David Frost that “when the president does it that means that it is not illegal.”
Trump appears to be both the most litigious person and the most sued person ever to be nominated for the presidency by a major party—and by a very large margin."
"His conception of law and order is antithetical to the rule of law." dRumpf is a CRIMINAL Authoritarian.

One person in America who should feel safe about Russian hackers is Sarah Palin.
ReplyDeleteNot just because Sarah has an armed PTSD American Medal of Honor recipient banging Sarah's daughter, it is because the Russian hackers read only one post of Sarah's Facebook rants and said that retard doesn't know shit and is still trying to be relevant since 2008.
So sad, the Russian hackers are so close to Sarah Palin's house that they can smell her and they still refuse to hack her.
Blame Shame Repent! Fuck that.

Donald Trump is unfit to be president. Everyone knows this and yet the Republican party hate Hillary so much that they are spewing their propaganda left and right. They want this one so bad it hurts, and they have sacrificed everything they have on the table. The Democrats have always been too laid back about the Right and never took their crazy seriously. Now we see every day, the result of years and years of preparing to take down the idea of the first woman president. In the crazed minds of the Right, a woman President is the last straw against everything God stands for. Donald is their man to bring down Hillary. It's a man's world after all. And the Mike Pense clones will not let that past.
