Donald Trump finally reaches out to black people. Guess how that went.

Courtesy of the Washington Post:

At a rally Friday night in Dimondale, Mich., Donald Trump repeated a version of a plea to black voters that he had offered 24 hours earlier in North Carolina.

"No group in America has been more harmed by Hillary Clinton's policies than African Americans," he said, apparently pointing to individuals in the crowd. "No group. No group. If Hillary Clinton's goal was to inflict pain to the African American community, she could not have done a better job. It is a disgrace."

"Look at how much African American communities are suffering from Democratic control. To those I say the following: What do you have to lose by trying something new like Trump? What do you have to lose?" he asked. "You live in your poverty, your schools are no good, you have no jobs, 58 percent of your youth is unemployed. What the hell do you have to lose?"

"What the hell do you have to lose?"

Is THIS part of Stephen Bannon's new messaging?

Because it's going great.

Trump also predicted that he would get 95 percent of the African American vote.

As you might imagine that attracted some attention on Twitter.
Like I said before, I really do not think that Trump really wants to win this election.

  1. Anonymous2:11 PM

He said that in a rally full of whites. Ok, then!

    1. And Dimondale is only 1% African American.

    2. Anonymous4:06 PM

In a rally where people of color are thrown out simply by being there.

  2. Anonymous2:13 PM

How come the quote isn't actually what he said? He said he'd have their vote - 95% - in 2020!

He doesn't even have 1% today!

  3. Anonymous2:19 PM

Trump is a big hit with African Americans like he is with Veterans.

Interesting Army, celebrity, gun article. I doubt Track Palin was suicidal, as they claimed for the police. He was probably just terrorizing the girl that had to hid in fear under a bed. That's what bullies and terrorists do.

Dakota Meyer may have been suicidal or it was to embellish a story he was telling at one time. He is to be so Marine well trained and so gun safety knowledgeable... but he had no clue he wasn't keeping one of his many available guns loaded in his vehicle?

The Palins, Sarah, Todd, Track, Bristol and Dakota are all Second Amendment supporter. Unlike Arnold they want less safety and background checks. Especially for the mental cases they are close to.

Actor and pistol owner Tom Arnold pleads for tighter gun control laws after suicide of his veteran nephew, 24, who got kicked out of the army and joined neo-Nazi group
Spencer Arnold shot and killed himself in May after arguing with woman
Twenty-four-year-old vet was kicked out of army after previous attempt
Found to be unsafe around weapons; diagnosed as chronically depressed
Tom Arnold has asked for more restrictions and background checks
Second Amendment supporter wants mental health support for all vets

"If I were to run, I'd run as a Republican. They're the dumbest group of voters in the country. They believe anything on Fox news. I could lie and they'd still eat it up. I bet my numbers would be terrific."

    -- Donald Trump
    People Magazine 1998

    1. Anonymous3:03 PM

Rats I was hoping that was true. Oh well it's out there. "Made up" doesn't slow the republicans down a bit b

    2. Anonymous3:52 PM

Why I posted it. I swear, I don't see how politicians sleep at night content in how they've lived their day.

  5. Anonymous2:39 PM

He's confused his supporters with the majority of humans.

  6. Anonymous2:48 PM

O/T. 'Texas has highest maternal mortality rate in developed world, study finds. As the Republican-led state legislature has slashed funding to reproductive healthcare clinics, the maternal mortality rate doubled over just a two-year period.'

    1. Anonymous5:36 PM

Maybe that's god's way of telling them that stupid people shouldn't breed ;-)

  7. I have an old pair of boots that I put on to muck up my basement when the sewer system backed up. I'd vote for them ten times---never ever thinking that Trump could be an alternative. They are shitty like him---but they do their job well. He wouldn't.

  8. Anonymous3:18 PM

Oooo The deviated republican party now cares about Americans. Trump and buddies now want to rebuild America, make it rich and great again. Well isn't that nice since they are the ones that sold out americans, took the money, jobs overseas and fracked the land till it dried up. They voted to destroy our Country, history, roads and dreams. To hell with them, nobody trust the trump Russian federation of the usa. They lie.

  9. Anonymous3:24 PM

Trump met with a Hispanic Board of some type today. God, I hoped they don't fall for his bullshit.

    Vote Hillary Clinton, Americans!

    1. Anonymous5:18 PM

Apparently he's going to find a way to let 11 million undocumented aliens stay. I wonder how that will go over with his fans?

    2. Anonymous5:34 PM

This Black person will never vote for the likes of Trump. I know he is racist. There is no doubt in my mind.

The way he has treated President Obama.
      His not renting to Blacks.
His implying that Blacks are not good enough to be president of their own country.

Only a step n' fetch-it, self-loathing Uncle Tom would vote for Trump .

    3. Anonymous5:39 PM

I believe the only Hispanics who will vote for him are Cubans.

    4. Anonymous6:50 PM

THEY DID fall for his fake humble act.

...According to sources who were present at the meeting, Trump spoke in a conciliatory tone. He began by welcoming everyone, then asked attendees what they thought he should do for the Hispanic community. He took notes during the whole meeting.

...Several Hispanic leaders told Trump that Hispanics weren't happy about his more aggressive comments. "He told us that what he'd said was one thing and what he'd meant to say was another," said Jovita Carranza, a Hispanic businesswoman and deputy administrator for the U.S. Small Business Administration under President George W. Bush.

"What he meant to say is that there's a lot of crime involved in these difficult situations that Hispanics go through on the border,” said Carranza, who attended Saturday’s meeting in New York.

    5. Anonymous9:04 AM

I don't think that Ms. Carranza speaks for most Hispanics in the US. After all, she was a Bush administration appointee to the Small Business Administration. She's a Republican.

  10. Anonymous3:26 PM

Black folks are welcome at Trump campaign stops, as demonstrated by the number of confederate flags flying.

    1. Anonymous10:24 AM

I'm sure they're welcome as long as they have a dust pan and broom in hand and tug their forelock.

  11. Anonymous3:33 PM

Six months ago I asked how long before he insulted black people. IMers didn't believe one should predict such "an awful thing". He's done far worse. I would say who's next, but can't think of a group he's left out. Can you?

BTW, how come he hasn't tweeted about the nude statue of himself? Do his Tweets now have to be vetted first?

    1. Anonymous5:40 PM

He's been insulting blacks his entire life. He won't rent to them, he'd keep them off tables at his casinos if customers wanted a white dealer, he didn't want them counting his money (rather have Jews do that instead) and much more.

    2. Anonymous5:15 AM

5:40 -- I meant in his official campaign. That his supporters can't see that he's been a POS all his life, well, that's another thing.

  12. Anonymous4:20 PM

3:33PM He insulted black people a long time ago - wouldn't rent to them in NYC, etc.

Plus, he did it at the start of his campaign when he publically denounced them and Hispanics.

    He's a full blown racist!

  13. Anonymous4:24 PM

I really do not believe that Trump is sane.

  14. Anonymous4:50 PM

Dan Rather said on Rachel Maddow that Trump wants the white people/independent or undecided voters to think Trump is not a bigot or racist. That is Rather's take on why Trump said what he said.

I would bet all that he said was horrifying to more people.

    1. Anonymous5:57 PM

Rathers' take made sense. Presumably the racist nutcase vote is so tightly sewn up, no fear of alienating anybody.
And, yeah, good luck reaching out, Dirty Donny.

  15. Anonymous5:25 PM

Trump asks what do we have to lose by voting for him? As a Black person, I will answer it for my whole race. Our self-respect is what we have to lose.

No self-respecting Black person would vote for that racist, nasty bastard. He has spent almost 8 years disrespecting, belittling, and maligning President Obama, whom most Blacks in this country, including myself, love dearly.
Trump also has made it clear that he thinks Blacks are not good enough to be president of this nation.

    1. Anonymous5:57 PM

Love and respect for President Obama and his family is shared by many white people, too. Stronger, together!

    2. Anonymous12:18 AM

Obama has earned my (white) love.
      Trump has earned my disgust.

  16. Trump has to tread lightly here - if he loses the bigoted white crowd there won't be anyone left to vote for him. He can "outreach" all he wants, the damage has been done. "What have you got to lose?" Yea, let that sink in. I've got a friend that is still on the Bernie bandwagon, she hates Hillary. All I have to say is "Supreme Court". Brings things into perspective.

    1. Anonymous10:28 AM

Unless Hillary intends to nominate Merrick Garland what's the point in voting for her? She's already chosen Ken Fracking Salazar for her team. She'll just swing back to the right where she's always been and all that lipservice she's spewed to gain progressive and liberal votes will be forgotten.

There is a reason her unfavorables are within 5 points of Trump's unfavorables.

  17. Anonymous5:35 PM

I don't think Trump has ever lived or worked amongst black people and the only ones he encounters are "the help" so he really doesn't understand that they are not all congregated in poor inner city neighborhoods with failing education systems. Yes, those conditions still exist for many but like with most things Trump the brush is broad and assumptions are made without any research or due diligence.

Oh, wait, there were those two, Omarosa and Pierson, but they don't count because they seem to identify as "white".

    1. Anonymous6:01 PM

Yep, Omarubes latest quote is that people will have to "bow down to T.Rump. What's the proper term for an African American blonde bimbo?

  18. Anonymous6:19 PM

I live in Michigan. Detroit,, Saginaw and Flint have the highest crime rate. So why didn't Trump take his speech to one of those cities.

You want to reach out to Blacks than don't go to a safe zone. Nobody is buying his bullshit. Mr.Inherited Money thinks he can buy the Black vote and thinks Blacks are stupid. How many Blacks does Mr.Trump employ? He prefers cheap employment by giving temporary work visas to Mexicans! and yet he wants to build a wall to keep them out.

It's NOT playing here in Michigan so if this idiot thinks he is going to get the Black vote then well he can shove it.

You think Blacks are suddenly going to vote Rebublican after all the crap they have seen them do to President Obama?Insulting his wife, calling him a Muslim because of the color of his skin if he was white no one would buy it.

The Republican party has used color of skin to stir hate and now they think we are going to forget all the nasty things they have said and done to President Obama.MR. Trump you are a loser. A piece of shit with no principles and less honor.

  19. Anonymous8:03 PM

    This man has hyberbole orgasms.

For black Americans, Trump said, “It’s just, like, a total catastrophe, the unemployment rates, everything is bad — no health care, no education, no anything, no anything. And poverty is unbelievable. Then, I said, ‘Hey, wait a minute, vote for me. What have you got to lose? You can’t do worse, you can’t do any worse than what these people have been doing and I will do better.'”

    Photo op backfire:

...“Alright, y’all,” wrote Baton Rouge resident Neva Butkus, “I need to clear some things up.”

Butkus — a Chicago native who has worked with the City Year teaching program — said that she “has spent this entire week running donation centers, organizing volunteer efforts, and will be doing demo work on houses all this weekend.”

She wrote, “Our Governor has explicitly asked Obama to NOT VISIT at this moment because our first responders are STILL saving people’s lives. YES, It has been a week and there is still standing water. Tens of thousands of people are displaced. This is a NIGHTMARE and our governor does not want to shut down interstates that are BRINGING IN SUPPLIES just to escort our President into the city.”

She went on to say that Donald Trump’s visit was not welcomed by any residents she knows because it tied up precious resources that could be used in rescue and relief efforts.

“He is exploiting an opportunity to look as if he is welcomed during a tragedy,” she said. “A 60 second video of him unloading play-doh from a truck does not count.”

Finally, she demanded, “Trump. Seriously. Where is the check. Like where is the fucking check. My people are drowning.

  21. Anonymous12:02 AM

Just read a great article, Trump has siphoned all the money available out of the usa. No usa bank or investor will loan a penny to him. He now owes many investors from around the world. He is owned and he owes many. The job of usa president is his only way out of debt, is how it was put.

  22. Anonymous1:05 AM

Trump had a supporter thrown out because he was Indian-American. The guy is voting for Johnson now. He's convinced he was targeted because of the color of his skin.

"Anantha said he felt singled out for the color of his skin, since he saw throngs of white people being allowed to enter after he was ejected.

“I thought (Trump) was for all people. I don’t believe he is for all people anymore,” he told the Observer. “Why are all these white people allowed to attend and I’m not?”

Trump’s staff is legally permitted to control who comes into his rallies since they are private events typically held in private venues.

Anantha, whose grandparents immigrated to the United States from India, recalled defending Trump to critics, claiming the candidate’s offensive rhetoric was an appropriate way to express frustration with unauthorized immigration and jihadism.

Now Anantha may cast the first presidential vote of his life for Libertarian Party nominee Gary Johnson."

  23. Anonymous9:02 AM

The most recent spin on Trump's bizarre speech in the middle of a field near Lansing MI is that he was showing that he's not a racist in order to encourage more white people to support him. Does anyone really think that making the same speech in rural-ish Michigan and in North Carolina was intended to prove to white Americans that he is NOT racist? How dumb do Trump and his surrogates think the rest of us are? And, by the way, why are so many of his surrogates unknown youngish women?

    1. Anonymous10:37 AM

Sexist men like to surround themselves with young attractive women.

His new campaign manager, Conway, uses her feminine wiles to control him. She tells him what he wants to hear and manipulates him to do what she wants.

Don't feed the trolls!
It just goes directly to their thighs.
