At a time when President Donald Trump is eager to surround himself with supportive television personalities, he’s taken a particular liking to a pair of YouTube stars known for, among other things, a pro-Trump, anti-Eminem rap song titled “Trump’s Yo President.” 

Diamond & Silk are not your prototypical Trump boosters. They are African-American women who have relied on the internet for their rise to fame (or infamy, depending on your political posture). They are known, predominantly, for their direct-to-camera, impassioned defenses of the president—and acid-tongued takedowns of his critics. But in recent weeks, the two have had a growing presence on Fox News, which has, in turn, put their commentary squarely on Trump’s radar. And, according to White House officials, he’s impressed. 

Within the halls of the White House, Trump has repeatedly commented to aides over the past several months about how much he enjoys catching Diamond & Silk on TV, referencing specific clips and interviews they’ve done on shows such as Fox & Friends or Hannity, two West Wing officials and an outside Trump ally tell The Daily Beast. 

According to those close to the president, Trump finds their unabashedly loyalty, as well as their style and flair, “fantastic.”

Yeah I guess we should have anticipated this after Diamond and Silk were photographed with the Wasilla Wendigo at Mar-a-Lago.

I wonder how much longer it will be before these two get joint appointed to run the newly created "Dark Skinned People Outreach Program" that Trump will surely create in order to convince the black folks that he loves their votes almost as much as he loves white people votes?

Jeff Sessions talks about the "Anglo American heritage of law enforcement." Wait, what?

Attorney General Jeff Sessions on Monday talked about the "Anglo-American heritage of law enforcement" when speaking to law enforcement officials. 

Speaking to the National Sheriffs' Association, Sessions said he wanted to "thank every sheriff in America." 

"Since our founding, the independently elected sheriff has been the people's protector, who keeps law enforcement close to and accountable to people through the elected process," he said, according to CNN. 

"The office of sheriff is a critical part of the Anglo-American heritage of law enforcement," he said. 

Sessions added that "we must never erode this historic office."

According to CNN that Anglo American part was not included in the written version of the speech.

That was just Jeffrey Beauregard Sessions letting his racist flag fly.

No wonder Sessions is so adamantly against legalizing marijuana. After all how can he lock up all of the "darkies" if he can't simply bust them for carrying around a blunt or two?

Perhaps somebody should clue Beauregard in to the honorable tradition of African American law enforcement in this country.

Or are those facts his tiny racist mind simply cannot absorb?

Jay-Z sat down for a wide-ranging interview with CNN's Van Jones on "The Van Jones Show" in which the two discussed the president's economic record among African-Americans and minorities. The unemployment rate among black Americans is 6.8 percent -- the lowest it has ever been, but far above the 3.7 percent rate among whites. 

Jones asked the rapper whether or not it was fair for Mr. Trump to "say terrible things but put money in our pockets." 

Jay-Z disputed that assessment, saying, "it's not about money at the end of the day. Money doesn't equate to happiness, it doesn't. That's missing the whole point." 

"You treat people like human beings. That's the main point," Jay-Z said. "It goes back to the whole thing -- 'treat me really bad and pay me well.' It's not going to lead to happiness, it's going to lead to, again, the same thing. Everyone's going to be sick."

Trump apparently missed that part where Jay-Z said the jobs did not make up for his blatant racism.

So he tweeted out this:

Once again that is the guy in the White House getting into a Twitter spat with a black entertainer.

But here's the thing, the black unemployment numbers were already rapidly going down BEFORE Trump took office.  

As you can see the both the black AND white unemployment numbers started to drop right around 2010, when PRESIDENT OBAMA'S policies kicked in.

If Trump had inherited a spike in unemployment, and then saw it reduce under his administration, he might have some legitimate bragging rights.

But this is like taking over the wheel from a captain who just steered the vessel safely through an enemy mine field, and then taking credit for a trouble free voyage.

Besides, exactly WHAT policies has Trump put into place that he could possibly credit for a reduction in the black unemployment rate?

No seriously, I'm asking.

Two South Carolina politicians want to erect a monument honoring African Americans who fought for the Confederacy. Problem is there weren't any.

Two South Carolina lawmakers want to erect a monument on the State House grounds to African-Americans who served the state as Confederate soldiers. But records show the state never accepted nor recognized armed African-American soldiers during the Civil War. 

“In all my years of research, I can say I have seen no documentation of black South Carolina soldiers fighting for the Confederacy,” said Walter Edgar, who for 32 years was director of the University of South Carolina’s Institute for Southern Studies and is author of “South Carolina: A History.” 

“In fact, when secession came, the state turned down free (blacks) who wanted to volunteer because they didn’t want armed persons of color,” he said. 

Pension records gleaned from the S.C. Department of History and Archives show no black Confederate soldiers received payment for combat service. And of the more than 300 blacks who did receive pensions after they were allowed in 1923, all served as body servants or cooks, the records show.

Confederate law prohibited blacks from bearing arms in the war, records show, until that edict was repealed in 1865 at the very end of the conflict.

Did you just slap your forehead in disbelief at how ignorant these two individuals are? Because I certainly did.  

Yes I am sure the line was quite long for black folks anxious to join the army fighting to preserve slavery, because damn they loved them some slavery.

This is why education is so damn important.

It helps to prevent the creation of more ignorant Republicans.

In a round-table discussion on gun violence aired by WJLA — the Washington, D.C. ABC affiliate that was purchased in 2014 by the conservative Sinclair Broadcast Group — Gorka attempted to make a point about the legislative effort to ban so-called bump stocks. The gunman behind the shooting massacre in Las Vegas on Oct. 1 had several bump stocks, which mimic the firing speed of automatic weapons, in his hotel room. 

“The biggest problem we have is not mass shootings, they are the anomaly,” he began. “You do not make legislation out of outliers.”

“Our big issue is black African gun crime against black Africans,” Gorka said. “It is a tragedy. Go to Chicago. Go to — the city’s run by Democrats for 40 years. Black young men are murdering each other by the bushel. This is a social issue. Allow the police to do their jobs and re-build those societies. Legislation will not save lives. 

“I assume what he’s talking about is African-Americans,” one panelist said after Gorka finished. 

“Yes,” the former White House official replied. 

“Well, that’s not what you said,” the panelist responded. “I couldn’t figure out who these African— “ 

“African-Americans,” Gorka said.

I believe that is what we in the business call a "Freudian slip."

This Gorka guy is such in innate racist that he cannot even bring himself to call black folks in this country "Americans."

This is just another example of that Trump TV we all heard about late last year.

Trump cannot get the real media to report on what he wants them to report, so he has helped to create his own version of reality in partnership with this Sinclair broadcasting group.

And millions of Americans are seeing this on their TV screens and believe they are watching trustworthy local news outlets.

A long and sordid history indeed.

Rebecca Ferguson says she's been asked to perform at Donald Trump's inauguration ceremony. 

The singer tweeted she would "graciously accept" the invitation from the American president-elect if she can perform Strange Fruit.

In a Facebook post on Wednesday, York NAACP President Sandra Thompson revealed that she had been receiving reports of students at York Vo-Tech "being spit on, attacked, and called names because of their race or perceived Immigrant status."

One concerned parent provided video of students at the school holding a Donald Trump campaign sign while shouting "white power." 

The group "Parents of York County School of Technology Students" said on Facebook that members had received reports that "Trump's presidential win was announced at school today amidst chants of 'white power.' That white students referred to other races as their slaves, and at some points even spit on those students." 

And of course you know that if this is happening in other states that Texas will not allow themselves to be left out.

This is what happens when you put a xenophobic racist in the White House.

Hope has been replaced with fear.

Tolerance has been replaced with distrust.

It didn’t take an eagle eye to notice the “Blacks for Trump” signs just over Donald Trump’s left shoulder at his Tuesday rally in Sanford, Florida. The middle-aged white woman enthusiastically waving hers was particularly memorable. But the man next to her, a fringe political figure in South Florida who goes by Michael the Black Man, is the real star here. 

A former member of the murderous Yahweh ben Yahweh cult, Michael has found himself with front-row seats to several recent Trump events in South Florida, always waving his “Blacks for Trump” sign and wearing a shirt that says “Trump & Republicans Are Not Racist.” At Tuesday’s rally in Sanford, Trump took notice. “I love the signs behind me. Blacks for Trump. I like those signs. Blacks for Trump. You watch. You watch. Those signs are great,” he said.

Getting noticed by Republican pooh-bahs is nothing new for Michael. He appeared at a Rick Santorum event in 2012, where he declared Democrats “slave masters,” and has Glenn Beck’s seal of approval. 

This success with the GOP is a credit to Michael’s fervent anti-Obama stance, which is less about policy than Michael’s belief that the president, whom he calls “The Beast,” is the Antichrist whose rise was foretold in the Bible. Not that he doesn’t disapprove of Obama’s policies, too. Michael told the Miami New Times that he believes the president’s backing of child support could bring about the extinction of the free black man.

What did I say the other day?

Well in this case it also helps if you are perhaps clinically insane. And if you are not insane, then supporting Donald Trump might get you there.

You know it is probably unfair to say that Trump's support is almost entirely made up or racists, misogynists, self loathing blacks, self loathing women, and crazy people, but I would suggest that it makes up a larger percentage than the campaign would be willing to admit.

Despite being cleared by DNA evidence Donald Trump still says the Central Park Five are guilty.

Wading into a racially-charged case from his past, Donald Trump indicated that the "Central Park Five" were guilty, despite being officially exonerated by DNA evidence decades after a notorious 1989 rape case. 

"They admitted they were guilty," Trump said to CNN in a statement. 

"The police doing the original investigation say they were guilty. The fact that that case was settled with so much evidence against them is outrageous. And the woman, so badly injured, will never be the same." 

The five men were convicted as teenagers after implicating each other under intense questioning over a brutal sexual assault on a jogger that dominated the tabloids. Defenders said they were coerced into confessing and all five were later cleared by DNA evidence and a separate confession in 2002 from another criminal who took credit for the assault. 

New York paid them $41 million in a settlement in 2014 over their ordeal. 

 At the time Trump took out this ad in the New York Times.

The International Civil Rights Center and Museum was contacted by the Donald Trump campaign last weekend. Earl Jones, co-founder of the museum, says the campaign demanded certain things to make a visit by the GOP nominee possible. 

Jones says Trump's people were trying to plan a visit for Tuesday, the same day he spoke at High Point University. "We did not honor the request of the Donald Trump team because we thought they demonstrated, in their approach was disrespectful, so therefore we did not grant that request," said Jones. 

Jones says the Trump campaign was aggressive and rude to museum staff in making their request. 

He says Trump's people wanted the museum to be closed for at least 5 hours to accommodate Trump. 

Jones says the museum does not provide special treatment to anyone and says that is the main reason they denied the request. 

He said he also didn't feel like the request was sincere. 

"The approach, the type of disrespect, pretty much a demand and bullying us to use the museum in their manner and their way in their time, it was inappropriate and I think it's probably reflective of the type of insensitivity of civil rights and human rights that's reflective from Trump over the years," said Jones.

Oh damn! I think Mr. Earl Jones has Donald Trump's number.

Of course Trump's campaign thought they could bully their way into the museum, they're white!

And Mr. Jones is also right that Trump was not being sincere.

He was almost certainly doing it as some clumsy way to offset President Obama opening the Black History Museum in Washington, D.C..

Sarah Palin takes to Facebook to celebrate a white motorist brandishing a gun at African American protesters and getting to drive away scott free.

Palin's response to this on her Facebook page was the following:

They're not protestors, they're rioters... and this changed some things!

Well at least she didn't call them "thugs."

Palin then links to her favorite new right wing outlet, that Independent Journal rag, where they essentially applaud this man's "courage" in standing up to the "rioters" and landing a blow for white people everywhere.

Now what I see in the video is the guy trying to clear a path through the crowd by brandishing his gun, and the crowd responds by closing in on him, with one woman saying "Don't you do it sir, don't do it."

Before things get out of control, which they were clearly about to do, a police officer on a bike rides up and talks the man.

We do not actually see the car drive off, however according to The Daily Mail it did: 

A white man brandishing a gun was filmed driving slowly through a crowd of demonstrators as violence erupted in Charlotte on Wednesday night. 

A video of the alarming moment was posted on social media by writer Heather Head in the midst of the chaos. 

'White dude drives into crowd of peaceful protesters, draws gun, allowed to drive away alive. With my own eyes. #CharlotteProtest,' she wrote alongside the shocking clip. 

The man was surrounded by protesters who were marching against the deadly shooting of black man Keith Lamont Scott by a cop on Tuesday afternoon. 

Also according to the Daily Mail North Carolina law states the following: 

'You may not carry a weapon at a parade, funeral procession, picket line, or other demonstration, except for guns carried on a rack in a pickup truck. 

That means that there is virtually NO doubt that if that man had been a black man he would have been pulled from the car and arrested.

However since he is a white dude the fact that he can brandish a weapon to scare off African American protesters and then drive away is worthy of celebration by the likes of Sarah Palin.

And remember this was a protest over the shooting of Keith Lamont Scott, because the police claim he was armed and did not drop his weapon.

So yeah, I think I get the message here.

Trump campaign chair in Ohio says there was no racism before Obama. Wait, what?

Donald Trump’s campaign chair in a prominent Ohio county has claimed there was “no racism” during the 1960s and said black people who have not succeeded over the past half-century only have themselves to blame. 

Kathy Miller, who is white and chair of the Republican nominee’s campaign in Mahoning County, made the remarks during a taped interview with the Guardian’s Anywhere but Washington series of election videos.

“If you’re black and you haven’t been successful in the last 50 years, it’s your own fault. You’ve had every opportunity, it was given to you,” she said. 

“You’ve had the same schools everybody else went to. You had benefits to go to college that white kids didn’t have. You had all the advantages and didn’t take advantage of it. It’s not our fault, certainly.” 

Miller also called the Black Lives Matter movement “a stupid waste of time” and said lower voter turnout among African Americans could be related to “the way they’re raised”.

Well it's a good thing the Trump campaign is not attracting racists anymore.

Believe it or not that was actually too much even for the Trump campaign and Miller was forced to resign:

“My personal comments were inappropriate, and I apologize,” Mahoning County chair Kathy Miller said in a statement. “I am not a spokesperson for the campaign and was not speaking on its behalf. I have resigned as the volunteer campaign chair in Mahoning County and as an elector to the Electoral College to avoid any unnecessary distractions.”

Before making this statment Miller was actually doubling down on her remarks and ch alleging journalists to give her examples of racism in the last thirty years.

In other news Trump had talked about introducing a nationwide stop and frisk policy, in order to combat crime, even though a federal judge found it to be unconstitutional.

Yep, I just have no idea how Trump keeps attracting these racists to his campaign.

President Obama has just inserted himself, and his legacy, into the presidential race.

Donald Trump is a nasty, hateful charlatan selling a false message to African-Americans and the rest of the country that puts everything he’s done in office and stood for at risk, President Barack Obama said Saturday night, in a rip-roaring speech to the Congressional Black Caucus Foundation dinner in Washington. 

Declaring he would consider it “a personal insult, an insult to my legacy” if black turnout falters for Hillary Clinton, Obama did what he got reamed for doing almost exactly two years ago, in the heat of midterm elections where disdain for him was the defining force: Yes, he said, he is pretty much on the ballot in November. 

“My name may not be on the ballot, but our progress is on the ballot,” Obama said, his voice rising to a shout as he went well beyond what sources familiar with the speech say was a tamer version of the riff in the prepared remarks. “Tolerance is on the ballot. Democracy is on the ballot. Justice is on the ballot. Good schools are on the ballot. Ending mass incarceration, that’s on the ballot right now.” 

"Hope is on the ballot,” he said, laying out the choice. “And fear is on the ballot too.”

Damn! The President is simply not taking prisoners is he?

And good for him.

This election is too important for folks to allow their dislike of Hillary Clinton or their distrust of the status quo keep them from voting in November.

This is not an election where both sides have competent candidates who can both do the job, even if we don't agree with their ideologies.

This is fucking Donald Trump.

Some idiot on an earlier thread suggested that we weathered George W. Bush's administration intact and so it was not that big of a deal if we elected Trump this time.

That made my head hurt so much I had to lie down for a minute.

How could they not know that the Bush administration was responsible for thousands of American deaths, both on 9-11 by ignoring intelligence briefings and in the unnecessary wars that followed?

The Bush administration is responsible for the domestic spy program that is still in place today.

They tanked the economy so badly that our current President is still struggling to repair it eight years later.

The terrorism that we live in fear of today is the direct result of the war in Iraq, and our lack of a plan to deal with country after we defeated its dictator.

No the presidency of George W. Bush damn near destroyed this country, and Donald J. Trump is infinitely worse by any measure you can imagine.

So no I do not believe this country can "weather" a Donald Trump presidency intact.

On the September 7, 2016 episode of his radio show, David Duke and co-host Jay Hess hyped black-on-white crimes and accused Hillary Clinton of being an architect of “white genocide.” As Hess put it, Clinton “represents the forces of white genocide” and is “definitely a traitor to her people” who doesn’t care if white people are “outbred.”

With that, Duke segued into the argument that white people are being targeted for non-white violence. He insisted that there are “hundreds of thousands of white victims of massive non-white crime.” He went on to say that:

"When a person goes to the store, they go to the mall, or they drive somewhere in their car and they break down, or they stop at a traffic light and they might get hijacked, nine times out of ten it’s not gonna be some white guy hijacking their car. It’s not gonna be a white guy kidnapping them at the Walmart, right? And, you know, taking their family and slaughtering them, or robbing them or raping the women. That’s just the reality of life in this country."

For the record I live in lily white Alaska and when somebody here gets robbed, raped, or kidnapped it is more often than not a white guy.

Crime is crime, and ethnicity has little to do with it.

Often it is the result of poverty, or a lack of education, or a sense of hopelessness.

Yes sometimes those things are found in African American communities, but also in poor Hispanic communities, in poverty stricken Asian communities, and yes in poor mostly Caucasian communities.

The idea that crime is determined by race is a White Nationalist meme that has little fact to back it up.

And there are also no facts to back up Duke's assertion that Hillary Clinton is a self loathing agent of white genocide.

Obviously.

It looks like someone is bucking to be added to that "basket of deplorables."
