Hillary Clinton makes an appearance on "Between Two Ferns" with Zach Galifianakis.

Courtesy of HuffPo:

Democratic presidential nominee Hillary Clinton fielded questions from Zach Galifianakis on his Funny Or Die show “Between Two Ferns.”

Galifianakis jokingly peppered Clinton with questions about how fast she could type as secretary (of state) and how President Barack Obama likes his coffee.

You know #ImWithHer and everything so I am supposed to be supportive, but this did not work for me. It really didn't.

I know that Hillary is attempting to reach out to the millenials and that is a good thing, but this is really not her thing.

She does just fine on talk shows, she gives good speeches, and she is going to crush Trump in the debates, but this was a swing and a miss in my opinion.

Especially since it invariably invites a comparison to President Obama's appearance with Galifianakis, which is a really bad idea.

The President is a natural comedian with great timing, and a gift for self deprecating humor. He never seems to take himself very seriously, but he takes the job quite seriously, and it shows.

Hillary does not need to emulate President Obama, she just needs to be herself and explain to the American people, including the millenials, why she is a far better choice than her opponent Donald Trump.

That really should not be that difficult.

I don't know, Gryph, maybe you're taking this too seriously. I've watched every Between Two Ferns there is, and guests are supposed to be offended at his interview tactics!

    1. No I get the joke. Don't even act like I don't get the joke.

      I'm very hip.

I just think that Hillary came of a little flat, and I don't feel that this is the kind of venue that helps her.

On the other hand Obama made Galifianakis his bitch.

      That was my point.

I think Hillary does very well in interviews, and on talk shows, and in front of a crowd.

It almost wasn't funny with Obama though because he has such a great sense of humor it was hard to play like he didn't.

This is how she's training for her debates with Trump.

It was never Trump's substance or policy that won the primaries- it was his ability to steamroll the other candidates by controlling the mic.

To stand a chance, Hillary has to be able to control this, so the best way to approach it is to learn how to control the conversation and hold her own.

Zach I think is a good start for that.

OT?"Pittsburgh-based EDMC, operator of the Art Institutes, Argosy University, Brown Mackie College, and South University, once had a reputation for providing quality higher education, but that reputation went downhill during the George W. Bush years, as a lax regulatory environment gave for-profit colleges incentives to aggressively recruit students, raise prices, and cut funding for actual instruction. "
"At the time of the settlements, Attorney General Loretta Lynch said, “Operating essentially as a recruitment mill, EDMC’s actions were not only a violation of federal law but also a violation of the trust placed in them by their students - including veterans and working parents - all at taxpayer expense.”
espite the billions of dollars going to EDMC and other for-profit colleges from the Department of Education, Leeds had written to Powell in 2014 that the Obama Administration was at “war” with their industry. He seemed confident that direct conversations with top administration officials could turn things around.""Powell noted that Corinthian is “going under” and that “for-profits” were “under attack.” Powell asked: “What do you make of it all?”"In one exchange, Leeds asked Powell for help luring former Microsoft CEO Bill Gates into for-profit education ventures, writing in April 2o15, “My guys met with some Gates people this week who are signaling strongly that they will be investing, for the first time, in private equity funds in the education space. Would you consider calling Bill and letting him know about us and your relationship to us?”In a message to his son, a former chairman of the FCC turned lobbyist for the cable industry, Powell noted that he was in negotiations to be paid an additional salary “in the ball park” of $100,000 by one of Leeds’ leadership training academies.

“Don’t know if I ever mentioned that I am on a nice monthly retainer with Leeds equity,” Powell added to the message. “I chair his advisory committee over all his holdings and have an equity position in one.”

I thought she was hilarious, and yes she doesn't have much of a sense of humor, but that made it even funnier, especially the way it played against Galifinakis' dry wit and ridiculous line of questioning.

The whole premise of the show is that both the guest and the viewers should be uncomfortable and guests that aren't should at least pretend to be.

It humanized her for a lot of people, which she needs right now.

My point is that, after the NYC pneumonia, her appearance and demeanor WILL be used against her. If you want to call me an asshole, fine. Pay attention to media much?

Fuck. She should be tired. Running for President has to be exhausting. Much more exhausting than being POTUS. And hell, She's been the Secretary of State. That's gotta be pretty exhausting, too. Especially in these times. Plus, She's endured endless inquiries into just about every bullshit thing that the Republicans have conjured up to destroy her. Hell, I defy most 30 year olds to keep up with her. Screw you people for bringing out the old, tired woman. She is not that.
Oh, and, fuck you, Mitch McConnell.

Geez so sensitive. Hillary has lots of smiling to do. A bright smile is youthful. Nice hair is fresh. She will be president to all. She wants to know the 21 yr olds lifestyle. And she must. She must tell them about the great gifts America has in store for them. There is nothing wrong with age but rejoice in youth. As it is our future. The better we prepare them for future the better history will be. And frankly, she must not give a damn what her critics belly ache about anylonger. She is most qualified, beautiful, bright and we will witness the first woman president elected.

Trump decided to actually run for office. When was it? The night President Obama made Trump a public joke at the White House Correspondents Dinner in 2011.

This was the moment his feelings were hurt so bad, so deeply, so terribly, that even the longest and most adjective and exclamation point laden tweetstorm wouldn't have satisfied his petulant, child like temper tantrum.

I disagree with your take, Gryphen. I thought she did a fine job at dry humor, which of course is what this is all about, and admire her even MORE for taking this step in to what is likely a risky endeavor of sorts (campaign wise). Have you watched previous episodes? Check them out. I found Brad Pitt's today and, although I thought it hilarious, I think Hillary did a better job. You may need to lighten up a bit cause for such a "hip" dude you seem uptight and judgmental. Maybe lay off the news for a few, we'll all survive while you rejuvenate on the Alaskan shores with a Brewski or three! ;)

OT seriously BOW DOWN -- we don't bow any one - but more proof trump is running to become King or Emperor - but also running for pure revenge (we already knew it but now confirmed by a campaign staffer)

Omarosa Manigault: ‘Every Critic, Every Detractor, Will Have To Bow Down To President Trump’
“It is the ultimate revenge to become the most powerful man in the universe.”

    Excerpt:
In an upcoming “Frontline” special, Omarosa Manigault told PBS that the roots of Trump’s presidential campaign may be traced back to the 2011 White House Correspondents Dinner, when President Barack Obama cracked a few jokes at the real estate mogul’s expense. The quips came after Trump falsely accused Obama of lying about his birthplace and citizenship, thus feeding the discredited right-wing “birther” conspiracy theory.

“It just kept going and going and he just kept hammering him,” Manigault said. “And I thought, ‘Ohhhh, Barack Obama is starting something that I don’t know if he’ll be able to finish.”
