Top Democrats finally proclaim publicly that the Russian government is trying to sway this election. No, really?

Courtesy of Politico:

The top Democrats on the House and Senate Intelligence panels said Thursday that they are convinced, based on briefings, that senior Russian officials are trying to sway or disrupt the U.S. elections.

"Based on briefings we have received, we have concluded that the Russian intelligence agencies are making a serious and concerted effort to influence the U.S. election," said Sen. Dianne Feinstein and Rep. Adam Schiff in a joint statement.

"At the least, this effort is intended to sow doubt about the security of our election and may well be intended to influence the outcomes of the election - we can see no other rationale for the behavior of the Russians," they added.

The pair placed the blame at the highest levels of Russia's government.

"We believe that orders for the Russian intelligence agencies to conduct such actions could come only from very senior levels of the Russian government," they said.

This does not exactly come as news to those of us paying attention to all of these hacks, and the fact that they seem focused mostly on the Democrats and opponents of Donald Trump.

Speaking of Trump, it appears that one of his advisors is under investigation for his dealings with Russia:

One of Donald Trump's foreign policy advisors is being probed by U.S. intelligence officials to determine whether he has had private discussions with senior Russian officials, Yahoo News reported, citing sources. In particular, members of the intelligence community are concerned that Carter Page has spoken with the Kremlin about the possibility of lifting economic sanctions on Russia, sources told Yahoo.

The former Soviet Union working to help a Republican win a presidential election. I wonder if you can die from an irony overload?

Sadly, if people think the election is already rigger, some will not turn out to vote. We have to make it clear that EVERYONE needs to vote, plus have people pick up friends to take to the poll.

And if Trump loses, he will SCREAM "rigged," as he has already forewarned. Who's trying to rig it, Donald?

JUST like Palin, pointing the finger when three are aimed back at 'em.

I just took a national poll and Trump was winning. Simple poll and question - who will you vote for?

Vote Hillary Clinton and get out the vote for her...offer to drive folks to their voting places, etc.

I put no faith in polls, especially online. How many times did the idgits vote to keep the very pregnant, no talent ape-costumed Bristol on DWTS when it was clear she had no talent whatsoever?

Poor, poor, stupid Republicans. Trump really knows his "marks", doesn't he? The R's will probably go broke and have to declare bankruptcy after Trump has picked them clean.

It's simple choice....do you want our government turned over to the Russians or not.

It amazes me how Trump supporters are either too stupid or too ignorant to see this.

In an interview on ABC in July, Trump told George Stephanopoulos, “But I have no relationship to Russia whatsoever."

    Welllll, other than this...

“The level of business amounts to hundreds of millions of dollars -- what he received as a result of interaction with Russian businessmen,” said Sergei Millian, who heads a U.S.-Russia business group and who says he once helped market Trump’s U.S. condos in Russia and the former Soviet states. “They were happy to invest with him, and they were happy to work with Donald Trump. And they were happy to associate—[and] be associated with Donald Trump.”

But he's going to put all of his businesses in blind trust managed by his children who PROMISE not to tell him anything. Pinky swear!!!

So proud of the students from Hofstra University, my alma mater!

"The group, the Not Who We Are campaign, is using students at the very university where the debate will be held to make a point. A new web ad produced by the group features students unfriendly to Trump's message."

I see a lot of want of nails for Ohio, my formerly native Iowa, and similar places. The missed opportunity of the Dems not reaching out to rural America during the “Keep the grain, export the farmers” crisis. Doing the DLC Third Way Blue Dog Yuppie chase instead of siding with the working class during the days of downsizing, offshoring, workers’ concessions and executive bonuses. Going Tipper on the late Boom and Gen X instead of reaching out to them during the MTV days.

Donald Trump Is a Lazy Idiot, Trump Campaign Tells New York Times

There are two ways to read today’s New York Times report from Donald Trump’s debate preparations, or lack thereof. One is that Trump’s advisers are deliberately setting expectations at rock bottom, so the media will proclaim him the winner if he can merely remain upright for the entire time. A second possibility is that they have come to the horrifying realization that their candidate is delusional, uninformed, lazy, and utterly unsuited to the presidency, and they’re hoping without evidence that these traits can somehow be hidden from the viewing public.

The two possibilities are not mutually exclusive. In either case, Trump’s advisers are advertising that their candidate is a man-child. Trump cannot read and must be shown videos instead:

  17. The US actively interferes in tHe elections of other countries. Why is it so surprising that other countries try to do the same in American elections?

The US has in fact Not just interfered in elections, but actively participated in the violent overthrow of democratically elected governments.

True democrats need to be vigilant and critical of not only tyrants like Putin, but interfering democracies like America.
