Well this seems a little extreme.

Courtesy of the Friendly Atheist:

According to a Facebook post that’s been shared more than 4,700 times as of this writing, at last night’s McKenzie High School (Alabama) football game, the announcer told the crowd that anyone who didn’t stand for the National Anthem should be shot by our military.

In other news the National Anthem protest is spreading all though the NFL.

In fact just today some of the players for the Miami Dolphins knelt in protest during the anthem.

So guess not everybody actually believes it's appropriate to wish death on American citizens who refuse to demonstrate respect for the anthem of a country that still allows institutionalized racism among its law enforcement officials.

Good to know.

Ot. Hillary and those her age are more susceptible to pneumonia. But that fainting behavior isn't new. I trust her in that she has good doctors. I wish she'd be upfront.

She tried to be honest with her "basket of deplorables" and she got creamed for telling the truth. Doubt she will be upfront about her health. But she should.

If you choose to protest in a civil way, exercising your First Amendment rights, you deserve to die according to Allen Joyner, the Sweet Home Baptist Church pastor who apparently moonlights as a high school football announcer. I guess Jesus taught him to kill those who disagree with you.

Denise Crowley-Whitefield who attended the game posted on facebook what Pastor Joyner said, writing "the entire crowd went crazy cheering". Crowley-Whitley further wrote, "I desperately needed to see some good in this world after a disheartening week".

Apparently, "some good in this world after a disheartening week" includes the execution of innocent people for Crowley-Whitley.

What can you say? Christians are crazy hateful people that have caused immeasurable pain and destruction in this world and set fire to any peace that any of us could ever hope to manifest.

Their agenda is one of hate and anger and they continue to breed their army of "warriors of hate" driven by their malevolent sky fairy.

Sad that there's no kindness nor compassion, especially in a place some go to seek it.

    "Am I "unpatriotic" if I don't stand?"

No. Wearing flag pin, a red make America great again ball cap, or red, white and blue bikini = 1 sit down.

Spitting skoal juice into last year's 4th of July solo cup or teabags from you bonnet works too. It's in the TPM (teabag patriotism manual)

Some Titans players did the Black Power salute in the Vikings game too.

Next time I see someone sitting through such a phoney ritual of pledges, I will walk over, shake their hand, and say "Thank you for your service."

The pastor's church has taken down their facebook page that declared they would ignore and ban anyone who disagreed with the Pastor. I guess it's easier than shutting their eyes, covering their ears and saying LALALALA

If I were at this game (not likely as I don't care for spectator sports) I would sit simply because I was threatened.

Who the fuck do they think they are?

Some people say patriotism is defined as the last resort of a scoundrel. I beg to submit that it is the first.

Ever since I was a kid playing the anthem at high school football games I couldn't understand the point. It's a freekin' sports event, not a military honor guard. What is patriotic about a bunch of guys chasing an oddly shaped ball and smashing into each other?

There are many cultures that would consider it an insult.

When I was in college we learned the Mexican national anthem in preparation for a concert tour. Once we got there our director told us we wouldn't be singing it. He said they hold their anthem with such respect that they consider it in insult to sing it for frivolous reasons like at a baseball game or other minor event.

I doubt Mexico is the only country to honor it's national anthem this way.

Yahoo Sports has posted an article about this. The pastor's daughter & daughter-in-law are proud of him. His daughter wrote:

"That's my daddy! I'm so proud of the man he is and that he is not afraid to stand up for what he believes in."

If you stand up for what you believe in, you are a hero to be proud of.
If you sit for what you believe in, you are to be shot on the spot.

    Funny logic that.

Football and the National Anthem really don't go together. Seriously how is two American football teams playing against each other anything to do with patriotism? Maybe Congress and the Senate should have to sing it every day that they work, because maybe then it would be a reminder of who/what they are working for; but football? Football is not about serving your country.

"I like your Christ, I do not like your Christians. Your Christians are so unlike your Christ."
    Dalai Lama on Mahatma Gandhi.

One of my favorite Dalai Lama quotes, I've had it on my desk since the day I started working, and not once did anyone protest it.

    Gun Fail!

The witness said that the victim Joaquin Mendez, 23, sat in a chair and put on a bullet proof vest. He wondered out loud whether it still worked. Garibaldi took out a handgun, stated “Let’s see,” and shot at the vest. The vest was found in the house with a projectile entrance hole, according to TPD.

Because, to this 'pastor', murder – a clear violation of God's written-in-stone commandments – is preferable to thoughtful dissent from culturally imposed niceties – niceties that in fact cover up murder and genocide. SMH. He's obviously quite the illiterate when it comes to all things Bible. Maybe someone should track down his resume, and then thoroughly verify it.

I never understood the reason for the flag b.s. at sports events. Who politicized sports with that in the first place?

This kind of thing really makes me angry. I served for the pastor's right to his opinion, but I served for dissenting opinions too. This country has been largely built on dissenting opinions. I stand out of respect for others. I do not say the pledge and I do not put my hand over my heart. It is the same respect I give those who violate church and state by praying at public events. I stand out of respect for others, but I don't bow my head and I don't believe. I also have no issue with people who burn the flag as a symbol of protest. What I do have an issue with is the number of so-called Patriots who wear versions of the flag all over their bodies and on their feet. I was taught that was a violation and and showed disrespect for the flag. They aren't using it as a symbol of protest. They are cheapening it. Should I say, send them to the endzone to be shot? No, despite my personal belief and judgement about people who wear flag prints, they can do so if they like. I served for their right to do so. I served for the right to dissent. I can't say this often enough.

More of the same flag bullshit!

Except this time it's the Stars and Bars and the Gadsen flying next to The US flag.

    GMAFB!

"“It wasn’t politically correct, I’m sure, for some people, but there’s some people who look at that flag and say this is the land of the free,” said organizer Jim Simko. “It shouldn’t have happened, but I can’t, unfortunately, watch what everybody does at every minute.”

Argueta disputes Simko’s account, saying the Confederate flag was flying from the truck for about an hour before crowd members were asked to salute it."

BTW- the city of West Jordan hired these morans to run the event.
