Poll shows early voting strongly favors Hillary Clinton.

Courtesy of Yahoo:

With 11 days to go before the U.S. presidential election, Democratic nominee Hillary Clinton leads Republican Donald Trump by 15 percentage points among early voters surveyed in the past two weeks, according to the Reuters/Ipsos States of the Nation project.

Though data is not available for all early voting states, Clinton enjoys an edge in swing states such as Ohio and Arizona and in Republican Party strongholds such as Georgia and Texas.

An estimated 19 million Americans have voted so far in the election, according to the University of Florida’s United States Election Project, accounting for as much as 20 percent of the electorate.

Overall, Clinton remained on track to win a majority of votes in the Electoral College, the Reuters/Ipsos survey showed.

Of course this poll was conducted before James Comey took a giant crap in the middle of the election cycle.

However whether or not that has much of an impact on those have not voted is really up to the media and whether or not they report accurately on just what the new emails show.

Right now it appears that there is really NOTHING that voters need to worry about concerning Comey's letter, but of course the Right Wing media needs desperately to make something out of this so the truth may not serve them well, and they may instead downplay the facts and fan the flames of distrust that many Americans still seem to have toward Hillary Clinton.

The Extreme Right (including the Palin Cult) is propagating a story that Hillary Clinton is the head of an international pedophile ring.

This must mean they're aware of the allegations of Donald J. Trump having sexual intercourse with aspiring models not old enough to give consent.

A third woman accused Mr. Trump of rape very recently. According to the Daily Mail, a woman filed an April 2016 lawsuit claiming that when she was thirteen years old she was held as a sex slave to Mr. Trump and his friend Jeffrey Epstein. The woman claimed to have a witness, “Tiffany Doe,” to the incidents. She filed the case in pro per, that is, without the assistance of a lawyer.

The case was dismissed by the court for technical filing errors. She then obtained a lawyer and the case was modified and refiled in New York federal court, against Mr. Trump and Mr. Epstein.

I’ve carefully reviewed this federal complaint. It is now much stronger than the one she filed on her own, which makes sense because she now has an experienced litigator representing her. Jane Doe says that as a thirteen year old, she was enticed to attend parties at the home of Jeffrey Epstein with the promise of money modeling jobs. Mr. Epstein is a notorious “billionaire pedophile” who is now a Level 3 registered sex offender - the most dangerous kind, “a threat to public safety” — after being convicted of misconduct with another underage girl.

Jane Doe says that Mr. Trump “initiated sexual contact” with her on four occasions in 1994. Since she was thirteen at the time, consent is not an issue. If Mr. Trump had any type sexual contact with her in 1994, it was a crime.

On the fourth incident, she says Mr. Trump tied her to a bed and forcibly raped her, in a “savage sexual attack,” while she pleaded with him to stop. She says Mr. Trump violently struck her in the face. She says that afterward, if she ever revealed what he had done, Mr. Trump threatened that she and her family would be “physically harmed if not killed.” She says she has been in fear of him ever since.

Don't underestimate Team Clinton - eleven more days is plenty of time for them to shoot themselves in the foot at least one more time in yet another unbelievably stupid and preventable way. How anyone close to Clinton could still have State Department emails on a personal computer is even more stunning than Comey's political stunt, and given the time she's had to clean that computer up, even surpasses the stupidity of Bill Clinton's meeting with A/G Lynch.

Reality check: it's pretty damn sad that we have to settle for being thrilled that she's managing to stay ahead of Donald fucking Trump - the biggest political joke on the planet. I couldn't agree more with Anon 6:43AM

It's been a while since I've posted so I thought I'd come by and see if anything has changed for the better here at IM. Unfortunately, what's most noticeable are the homogenized posters' names -- all Anonymous. And then there's that touching TROLL accusation that sadly reminds us all that this used to be such a lovely place to visit and catch up. Now, IM feels like a basement bunker with access to only one AM radio station.

And to think, the battle cry, accusations, nasty tones and threats that were hurled to Bernie supporters -- were premature at best and COMPLETELY wrong at most. Just like Palin, the more people learned about Team Clinton, the less they liked her and them. These last few days have only given validation to many of the much of what Republicans have reported about "the ways" of the Clintons. Can't be mad at people if their assessment of an untrustworthy Clinton is actually true.

And just as Anon 6:43am states now, Team Clinton are their own worst enemies.

So Congratulations to Team Clinton (and whatever is remaining of the IM family) on successfully bullying your way into your win or loss. The reality of your sad position is mired deeply in the loss of respect for your voice and opinion -- perhaps a glimpse of what a Clinton presidency will be over the next four years.

    James Comey Just Unmasked Himself

His carefully maintained nonpolitical image is now starting to fray.

You have to be extremely political here in the nation’s capital if you want to acquire a reputation for being nonpolitical.

James Comey, as shrewd and politically attuned a player as this city has seen, had accomplished that feat ― until it all fell apart on Friday.

Seeking to protect his reputation for impartiality, the FBI director instead revealed his obsession with politics: the politics of his own image.

Sauce for the goose, sauce for the gander.

A concept the Republicans have never understood.

I do hope this has taught the Democrats a lesson. You don't nominate Republicans in a show of bipartisanship and "fairness". Life is not fair and then you die. No reason to make it worse by putting the opposition in positions of power for extended periods of time.

Maybe it's OK that the Senate hasn't approved Merrick Garland. His a middle of the road moderate. Nothing wrong with him. But at least Hillary will look at putting in your face liberals on the court. She'll replace Garland with a real liberal and with a Democratic majority in the Senate, nothing the Republicans can do about it. The Senate will change that filibuster rule about Supreme Court nominations too so no more obstruction.

Obama didn't have a firm enough hand with them. Hillary isn't going to try to be "friends" with everyone. She isn't going to compromise away her power. She is going to squeeze balls and get shit done. Obama may have been the president we needed in 2008, but Hillary is the president we need now.

Dale says most fact-checkers look at two or three things Trump says, “meticulously fact-checks them and posts an article,” but “that doesn’t work when you have a candidate who is frequently saying 20 false things in a day, up to 37 on some days.”

Gryph this is a long post

    Washington Post:
Eric Holder: James Comey is a good man, but he made a serious mistake

.... That is why I am deeply concerned about FBI Director James B. Comey’s decision to write a vague letter to Congress about emails potentially connected to a matter of public, and political, interest. That decision was incorrect. It violated long-standing Justice Department policies and tradition. And it ran counter to guidance that I put in place four years ago laying out the proper way to conduct investigations during an election season. That guidance, which reinforced established policy, is still in effect and applies to the entire Justice Department — including the FBI.

The department has a practice of not commenting on ongoing investigations. Indeed, except in exceptional circumstances, the department will not even acknowledge the existence of an investigation. The department also has a policy of not taking unnecessary action close in time to Election Day that might influence an election’s outcome. These rules have been followed during Republican and Democratic administrations. They aren’t designed to help any particular individual or to serve any political interest. Instead, they are intended to ensure that every investigation proceeds fairly and judiciously; to maintain the public trust in the department’s ability to do its job free of political influence; and to prevent investigations from unfairly or unintentionally casting public suspicion on public officials who have done nothing wrong.

Director Comey broke with these fundamental principles. I fear he has unintentionally and negatively affected public trust in both the Justice Department and the FBI. And he has allowed — again without improper motive — misinformation to be spread by partisans with less pure intentions. Already, we have learned that the importance of the discovery itself may have been overblown. According to the director himself, there is no indication yet that the “newly discovered” emails bear any significance at all. And yet, because of his decision to comment on this development before sufficient facts were known, the public has faced a torrent of conspiracy theories and misrepresentations....

I'm not so sure about Comey's motive in doing what he did late last week. I doubt if a person becomes FBI director without knowing what he's doing. Comey's action was a planned insertion of "smoking gun hysteria" done to redeem himself with the Congressional Republicans. Now he's pissed off everyone: the media for having been lured into hype over nothing, the sentient voting public for the same reason, the Democrats who helped him finally secure his position as FBI director for meddling irresponsibly in the election. I, for one, would have preferred if he had announced a multi-agency investigation into the connections between Trump's campaign and Russia. Involving foreign nationals in a presidential campaign is illegal.

Gino did try and deal with Tripp and he was a better parent. Maybe Todd owed his family money for one of his nefarious business ventures. I hardly blame Gino for all that.

Cummings’ shocker: Americans don’t ‘have a clue’ how hard the GOP pushed the FBI to attack Clinton

...According to Cummings, the GOP loved Comey, but when he came to them in July recommending no charges for Hillary Clinton they turned on him.

“So, you know, and now what they’re doing is trying to get every note,” Cummings said of the committee attempting to get every ounce of information from the FBI. “They’ve gotten the interviews of the FBI and everything involved in the investigation. Now, as I told director Comey at the time of the hearing back in July, I said to him, ‘Sir, they are now going to investigate you and your agency.’ That’s exactly what they’re doing. He asked me, in a way, was I surprised? I wasn’t.”

Cummings doesn’t think that Comey released the latest information for partisan reasons. Instead, he believes the GOP has pushed Comey to the actions he took.

The case for firing James Comey
Americans have rights. Even if they are Hillary Clinton.

President Obama should fire James Comey. He should do so not because of the political consequences of Comey’s actions — although those consequences could be quite severe — but because Comey’s actions show an unacceptable disregard for the safeguards that exist to protect innocents from the awesome power of a federal police force.

In Senator Harry Reid’s letter in which he suggests that FBI Director James Comey may have broken the law (the Hatch Law), he also drops the bomb that the FBI and national security experts possess “explosive information” about ties and coordination between Russia and Donald Trump and his campaign

Sen. Boxer calls for probe into Trump Model Management

By LOUIS NELSON 09/07/16 11:24 AM EDT

California Sen. Barbara Boxer called on U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services to open an investigation into Donald Trump’s model management company over allegations that it broke immigration laws.

Boxer’s request, which came in the form of a letter made public on Wednesday, follows a report from Mother Jones magazine alleging that Trump Model Management employed foreign women who had traveled to the U.S. on tourist visas that did not allow them to work...

I am extremely concerned by the claims levied against Trump Model Management and ask that you open an investigation into the company's employment practices,” Boxer wrote in her letter to Citizenship and Immigration Services Director León Rodríguez. “I hope you will make clear that immigration and labor violations like these will not be tolerated.”....

The Trumps love the courts and to sue anyone and everyone they want. This will be good for Donald to have the opportunity to spend so much time with court matters. He will need to have something to do with his post election time after his big fail and waste of time and money.

He can also sue any and everyone he wants since he has the money and it is his thing to do.

In a way he is a winner. Had he won the election he would not had the time to spend so much with court and lawsuits, the true love of his life.

Trump Model Management never obtained work visas for at least some of its models and specifically instructed them to lie on customs forms about why they were in the U.S. Some models told Mother Jones that they made little money because of high fees that Trump Model Management charged them for housing and other expenses.

Of working for the agency, one Canadian-born model said, "it is like modern-day slavery."

  43. Just got back from our Virginia veterans clinic where my husband got his checkup and flu shot. Some asshole with Trump stickers on the front, back and sides of his pickup trunk gobbled up two handicapped parking places, and I've got to unpack a wheelchair off the back of our Chrysler first to get my husband in. (He's 67, I'm 62.) One of the stickers actually said "veterans for Trump." I guess those veterans who don't get captured, huh?

Coming back out, I was sorely tempted to key it till my husband pointed out someone already had. ...So I settled for spitting on it.

I think it's more like every accusation Trump comes up with gives the IRS, DOJ, FBI, etc. leads on where to look in Trump's business dealings. He accuses the Clinton Foundation of fraud and we know the Trump Foundation has broken the law.

My fear is that once he's undergone testing Trump will be found incapable of helping in his own defense due to his many, deep seated and extreme mental defects. He seems incapable of grasping reality. I think he would pass a lie detector because he honestly believes everything that comes out of his mouth. Producing video tape evidence would do no good. He honestly doesn't remember or believe he says or does any of the stuff we KNOW he does. He truly believes there is no one more respectful of women than he is. He truly believes he is the least racist person you'll ever meet. He believes it all. How can such a delusional person help in his own defense?
