Donald Trump may treat the presidency as a part time job.

Courtesy of New York Magazine:

It turns out that one of the Trump transition team’s many duties will be helping President-elect Trump decide just how many nights he’ll have to sleep at the White House each week. The New York Times reports that Trump has told his advisors that he would like to continue to spend as much time as he can at his beloved Trump Tower penthouse in New York, and may retreat there, or to one of his other estates in New Jersey or Florida, on the weekends. The sudden dilemma for Trump, who labored to sleep at his New York home as much as possible during his campaign, has emerged as he recovers from his apparent shock at actually winning and comes to terms with how being president is going to completely upend his preferred lifestyle.

Trump advisors, however, are hoping that Trump will eventually warm up to White House living as “he grows less overwhelmed and more comfortable in the job.”

Jeezus Fucking Christ on a cracker!

You fight all the way though a contentious primary, you battle through the ugliest general election in American history, and when you win you just aren't sure you want to be on the clock full time?

Seriously?

And let's not forget that he cheated a woman out of the job who ready on day one and more qualified than any other president before her.

And now he only wants to do the job on HIS schedule?

Has he not seen the head of gray hair that now adorns our current President?

THAT is there because for the last eight years he has been our President for 24 hours a day, seven days a week, and fifty two weeks a year.

Even when he was on one of those golfing excursions the Right Wing gave him so much shit over he was on the job. He was on the job when he was eating, when he was sleeping, when he was shitting, and even when he was making sweet love to the First Lady.

There is no fucking time off when you are president!

But hey, if Trump does not feel he is up to the job I know a certain super qualified woman who would gladly take it off of his hands.

He will spend more time travelling "home" than he will working. Taxpayers had to pay him for all his trips on his own plane, while his entourage flew on a separate plane. He will cost taxpayers a lot more than he is worth! What a YUUUGE mistake he is.

Not only will we be paying to fly him back and forth, we will be paying for all the security updates on the homes, probable redecorating and all the security personnel.

And he makes it sound like he is doing us a favor by not taking his salary.

I believe Pence is worse than Trump in many ways and have read many comments arguing the same thing. However and whenever Trump leaves office, Pence will be the GOP standardbearer and if we do not work to rid the country of Trump sooner than later, we could be looking a 10-12 years (if not more) of GOP rule. We need to work to get rid of Trump asap so that we can get rid of Pence ASAP.

Ventura managed to take Minnesota from a huge surplus in funds into a huge debt while working part time, dismantling yrs of work to fund a very excellent public school system crippling many small towns throughout the state as the citizens stepped forward and raised property taxes on themselves to keep their schools solvent without affecting the educational opportunities for the children in their districts.. I only have one fond moment of that jackass and that was at a Stones concert. He walked in with all of his body guards and tried to waltz right up on stage. The Stones security was having none of it and kicked his ass out of the venue. Another reason the Stones are one of the best R&R bands in all of history.

When Republican governors take over in states that had previously had Democratic governors, they seem to specialize in taking the state from a "surplus" to a "debt" state, usually by reducing taxes on businesses and the wealthy. No one in the GOP seems to understanding that having a "surplus" in a state is the equivalent of having a savings account for an individual. It's there to provide funds when there are emergency needs (a natural disaster, perhaps) or when the state's economy goes south which happens every so often. In Michigan it's called the "rainy day fund" and it's intended to help in the times when the auto industry slumps. A GOP governor always wipes it out so that the next Democratic governor has to struggle to make up the difference and restore the surplus. For having so much "fiscal' concern, how can Republican governors systematically be so stupid?

Anon at 12:57 pm. Last year Gov. Snyder had an income of $400,000 (plus money from investments) and he had approx. $300,000 in deductions which drastically reduced the income tax he had to pay. I suspect he's been deducting the costs of his Ann Arbor condo and his travel to and from Lansing. He's a skunk and he's gotten away with it throughout his term and a half in office.

Is Sarah Palin work ethics spreading?

President Donald Trump missing? Sounds familiar.

Alaska State Legislature buttons: Where's Sarah Palin?

Back in 2006, the members of the Alaska State Legislature were doing their jobs in the place they were supposed to be doing their jobs, also known as the state capitol, Juneau. The governor, however, didn’t like Juneau much. She preferred to do her job from Wasilla and Anchorage, while collecting per diem payments and living in her own home. I know that the rest of the Legislature who live in the Anchorage area would probably love to do their jobs from home while collecting per diem payments. It’s hard to be away from your family for that long. Juneau can only be reached by plane. It can be difficult. But I’m guessing it would be frowned upon if they did it.

Double-standard aside, Sarah Palin was absent from her place of employment a lot. As a sign of protest, legislators from both sides of the aisle took to wearing a unique fashion accessory. They appeared at the Legislative session wearing buttons that said, “Where’s Sarah?” They realized that it was, in fact, impossible to be effective as a governor if you are not actually present.

This astute political observation couldn’t be more relevant today. Today, Sarah Palin is not in her office. She is not dealing with the affairs of state. She is not working on the gas pipeline, or the dropout rate, or trying to figure out why our gas prices are more expensive than anywhere else in the country. She’s not playing catch-up from all the work she missed while on the campaign trail, and she’s not trying to figure out what to do to keep Alaskans warm this winter. She’s not figuring out what to do about the budget which was finalized when oil was in the $60/barrel range, not the $45/barrel it is now.

    I don't understand.

The Obama family couldn't visit their former home in Chicago, which was a single family home with a yard around it, due to security concerns. The SS would have had to empty all their neighbors' houses for blocks in all directions if the Obamas went there. That's why they always spend Christmas in Hawaii, so they wouldn't disturb their old neighbors in Chicago.

Since presumably those same security concerns would apply to trump, how many thousands of people would he displace in Manhattan? Including his own tenants in the Trump Tower and everyone in every apartment and office in every other skyscraper for blocks in all directions? He'll probably not be allowed to set foot in his vulgar gilded condo, let alone spend half his time there.

Does trump really have no idea what happens to his privacy and personal freedom when (if) he becomes president?

    What a freaking idiot.

"I am so saddened to hear that," Trump told CBS' Lesley Stahl on "60 Minutes" when she said Latinos and Muslims are facing harassment. "And I say, 'Stop it.' If it -- if it helps, I will say this, and I will say right to the cameras: 'Stop it.'"

Throughout the General and Primary Elections all Trump's anti minority talk and anti women talk at his rallies gave all the inbreds and Alt-Rights a hard on and now they're doing what Trump said he did and would do. What did Trump expect? He empowered all the bad white people. Remember all the violent rhetoric at his rallies telling his hot heads what they would to the anti Trumps back in the day? Well the inbreds are doing it now. Happy?

No consideration for others, for all those who have to protect him, for all of us paying for his protection, for all of those whose New York City has been turned upside-down and it will remain so. No consideration of the fact that he is supposed to stay safe for the American people's sake. He is supposed to limit himself to a second property, just one of his residence outside of the WH (and Camp David usage) to just one other location. He should choose anywhere but NYC, but no, he doesn't care that this is in the middle of Manhattan and that already everything there has been disrupted because of him and will continue to be. The security, cut-off street access, two-mile no-fly air space--what the fuck! He is such a selfish little baby.

Let me correct myself. The Secret Service are there 24/7 any ways securing the building and the taxpayers are paying for 24/7 rent. But when Trump is there then there are more Secret Service in his building.

Ugh, that ugly mug on TV. His colorless stubby eyelashes. Ick.

Watching him tonight made me sick. Now he's acting like he has had no idea that this stuff has been going on? He should have been saying something forever, and certainly since Wednesday, but all he did was tweet a complaint about the protesters and then someone on his team tried fixing things. And he reveled in the adoration that was accompanied by racism and all the other isms for almost two years. Not to mention the birtherism for several years, and he is clueless as to why this insulted not only Pres O and his family but all of black America (and the rest of us who are decent human beings).

He kept acting like some quiet tough guy on 60 minutes and then innocent when it came to other things Stahl brought up. His comment, though, about abortion--well, they'll just have to go to another state--was beyond belief. He knows nothing about women's health and has no interest in learning about why women seek abortions.

I hate him so much. I cannot even express how much.

Donald Trump Conveniently Forgets The Time He Said More Countries Should Have Nukes
The president-elect on Sunday railed about the “dishonest” media.

Donald Trump on Sunday continued to walk back some of his most controversial campaign rhetoric.

The president-elect went on a mini-tirade against The New York Times on Twitter, taking issue with the way the newspaper described his past statements about nuclear proliferation.

In fact, Trump did say he was open to more countries getting nuclear weapons ― in an interview with the very same newspaper back in March.

“Well I think maybe it’s not so bad to have Japan — if Japan had that nuclear threat, I’m not sure that would be a bad thing for us,” he said.

Nor would it be so bad, Trump has said, if countries like South Korea and Saudi Arabia had nukes, too.

“It’s going to happen, anyway,” he said in an interview with CNN. “It’s going to happen anyway. It’s only a question of time. They’re going to start having them or we have to get rid of them entirely. But you have so many countries already, China, Pakistan, you have so many countries, Russia, you have so many countries right now that have them.”

    http://www.huffingtonpost.com/entry/donald-trump-abortion_us_58291447e4b02d21bbc955b8

"Affirming his campaign pledge to appoint Supreme Court justices who oppose abortion, President-elect Donald Trump on Sunday said that women would “have to go to another state” to get an abortion if the court were to overturn Roe v. Wade.

“Having to do with abortion, if it ever were overturned, it would go back to the states,” he said in his first post-election interview, on CBS’ “60 Minutes.”

“Yeah, but then some women won’t be able to get an abortion?” Lesley Stahl asked.

Trump responded: “Yeah, well, they’ll perhaps have to go, they’ll have to go to another state.”

When Stahl asked if he thought that was acceptable, Trump said to wait and see.

“Well, we’ll see what happens,” he said. “It’s got a long way to go, just so you understand. That has a long, long way to go.” "

Yeah, that sounds so decisive. So presidential.

This douchebag is totally clueless. He can't find his head with two hands.

It's projected that by the time all of the votes are counted, Hillary will have 1.7 million more popular votes than Trump.

Those who have opposed him are going to be in a lot of pain but it's not like a lot of his supporters and enablers are going to get a pass. Fiscal conservatives are going to be having strokes when he starts spending.
Tax cut. Costs money. Fixing or changing OBAMA care which until he does I don't believe, costs money. A lot of what he is planning to do is going to cost more than anyone can imagine. Trump has spent other people's money to bankruptcy and to the point where he is worse than broke. He's going to do the same with our government. We'll be paying for his trips home and stays at his hotels before during and after renovations to the White House to make it his style all at rack rates.
