Republicans withheld billions from Obamacare in order to drive up insurance costs and help Donald Trump get elected.

This tweet is referring to this article about Ryan's plan to replace Obamacare with a GOP approved plan:

Obamacare’s mandates are meant to drive broad participation in the insurance market, so the premiums paid by a broad number of relatively healthy subscribers essentially subsidize care for the sickest. Without the mandates, many healthy Americans won’t buy insurance, forcing insurance companies to either deny coverage to sick customers or hike premiums to unsustainable levels. The GOP plan would solve that problem by establishing state-based “high-risk pools” for the sickest and directing $25 billion in federal support to them over 10 years.

So perhaps at this point you are wondering just where this 25 billion was supposed to come from, and journalists wondered that as well and asked Paul Ryan who replied with:

“You really want me to give you a technical answer.”

Actually yeah, we do.

Especially since the Republicans had withheld funding that Obamacare desperately needed.

This led one New Century Times contributor to write this:

Here’s the most infuriating part. Paul Ryan wants $25 billion for these godawful high-risk insurance pools. Yet, remember, he purposefully kept $2.5 billion from Obamacare while finding money for defense, etc.

Basically saying, we have the money, and I want it for what I want, but I didn’t want it for the people of the nation when they needed it most because it didn’t serve in the best interests of me and my party in an election year.

He knows that if Obamacare is seen as a success, the GOP looks like losers. He literally tried to sabotage Obamacare to help the Republican party and Donald Trump win. Because then Trump had a basket full of excuses to hate the health law while campaigning and could point out rising costs.

Paul Ryan and Republicans need to be held accountable for this purposeful deception. The money is there. He just didn’t want Obama to have it.

And remember, Paul Ryan is supposed to be a reasonable Republican.

"Trump will not admit to any wrongdoing in the final agreement,"

Betcha Trump will lie and say he's only doing this so he can get on with the work of the American people!

    New York Daily News:
Donald Trump nearing settlement in Trump University fraud case
    BY KENNETH LOVETT

ALBANY — In a complete turnaround from his previous position, President-elect Donald Trump is nearing a settlement of the fraud cases brought in New York and California involving his now defunct for-profit Trump University, the Daily News has learned.

Under the emerging deal being negotiated by Trump's lawyers, New York State Attorney General Eric Schneiderman and the law firm that brought a class action lawsuit regarding Trump University in California, the president-elect will agree to pay between $20 million and $25 million to settle the matter, a source with knowledge of the situation said.

Trump will not admit to any wrongdoing in the final agreement, which could be announced as soon as Friday, the source said

And Trump says "I never settle." He always settles!

I hope there's no nondisclosure agreement--I want everyone involved to be free to talk about anything and everything associated with this case.

Though a settlement, it's a mark on his presidency, and the more that mar his presidency, the better.

  2. And yet, sadly, this will not see the light of day.

The media will not report on it. Paul Ryan will get away with it.
Because in this alternate reality we've entered, truth is considered a nuisance.
The people who have been most screwed by this will not know, will not care and will continue to vote against their best interests.

Paul Ryan is a sorry excuse for a person of the Roman Catholic faith. I was raised one, I know what the church teaches.

And just like that, the warm, fuzzy feeling I had after finding out no more Duck Dynasty has floated away into oblivion.

“I will win the Trump University case. I already am, as far as I’m concerned,” Trump said in June. “I could settle that case. I could have settled that case. I just choose not to.”

In March, he called the lawsuits “nonsense,” saying that, “It’s something I could have settled many times. I could settle it right now for very little money, but I don’t want to do it out of principle,” he said.

So now that everyone knows this, what are they going to do to Ryan and Republicans? How many sick people died because of their fucking actions?

We (Democrats/Independents, etc.) need to get some types of action in process that counters what Trump and his mates are going to do as to medical insurance coverage for Americans as they tear apart Obamacare.

His appointments that will appear before Hearings of the U.S.Congress need to be strongly countered and not win approval!

Are Democrats, etc. preparing and planning for this?

What can Americans do that is effective to country Trump - besides peaceful demonstrations? We all need to work together doing something that is a winning strategy!

I know that elections matter - but, we just went through that process and it's amazing that Republicans who were up for reelection actually won their seats again! I found that to be unbelievable! Mitch McConnell, of Kentucky, is an example - he was reelected and was the major obstructionist and racist that fought President Obama every step of the way throughout his nearly completed two terms! It drove McConnell nuts that President Obama was reelected for his second term.

Something major has to be done. How many more sick people are going to lose their medical insurance because they cannot afford whatever it is that Republicans change as to Obamacare/Affordable Care Act? I'm very worried as I do have a specific disease!

    I want questions answered!

So you want answers? Well, you probably won't get any that can do a thing here in IM. Have you written your Congressional Representatives and Senators?

If you have (or when you do) and got the usual run-around, you can always begin by writing a letter to the editor of your local paper. Write about what you asked and then copy the relevant responses from the letter you received.

It may not do much, but it's an active start.

Part Of President Obama's appeal was his youth and dynamic personality. Let's learn from that, the millenials are becoming a large segment of the voting population, we need to tap into that before they decide the excitement of the Trumpers is more to their liking.

Speaking of that plastic alien, I'm loving the fact that some designers are saying they won't dress her and fashion people say they won't cover her. There's a new story out today, but right after the election I saw a couple articles about people in the industry making their renouncement of Trump known through boycotting his wife. Of course, the public loves fashion and Melania will still get plenty of coverage, but it won't be like it was for Michelle, even though Melania's the one with a modeling past. Designers loved MO and her personality. Melania has no personality, they rae saying, and she doesn't inspire. I think it was vanity Fair that had another article about how covering Melania will be a challenge because how she dresses and accessories reveals nothing in the way of a personality and interesting POV. I'm also for any boycotting because we know that Melania has no life and will be pretty much useless as a first lady (can't give her caps) and all she'll want is to be seen in expensive clothes and decorating.

I don't know how much of an impact it will have for fashion designers to say they won't dress her, since she was never really famous for wearing clothes in the first place....thong designers, thigh-high boot designers, whip designers, now, that would be a different story!

Too Racist to Be Federal Judge in 80s, Jeff Sessions to be Trump’s Attorney General

The swamp just keeps filling up. This morning it was learned that a man the ACLU calls “anti-civil rights,” Alabama Senator Jeff Sessions – who as Zach Wahls points out, “was deemed too racist *in the 1980s* to be confirmed as a federal judge” – has been named by Donald Trump as Trump’s pick for attorney general.

Trump’s transition team told us yesterday that,

“The president-elect has been unbelievably impressed with Senator Sessions and his phenomenal record as Alabama’s attorney general and U.S. attorney. It is no wonder the people of Alabama re-elected him without opposition.”

And now we learn the nightmare is reality. CBS This Morning tweeted the news,

Trump To Give HUGE F**K You To States Hillary Won By Taking A Literal Ego Trip

One of the things that Trump wants to do over the next four years is continue to hold huge rallies for the purpose of stroking his ego. Apparently, that’s already getting underway. He’s planning to take a “victory lap” around the states he won sometime in the next several weeks, rather than working closely with his transition team to make sure as much is in place as possible before Inauguration Day.

...The glow of winning a presidential election already seems to be wearing off – he has to continually find ways of feeling superior and getting the instant gratification that these huge, cheering crowds give him. And really, who wants to spend day after day in boring meetings with transitional staffers, members of Congress, security teams, the current President, and more when he can just be “gone” all the time, stroking his ego?

Trump Says He Never Pledged To Kill Family Members Of Terrorists
“I didn’t say kill. We have to go after them.”

.... After all, while he insisted that he never actually said he wanted to kill the families of terrorists, that was the obvious implication.

“I would be very, very firm with families,” Trump said at one point during the campaign.

“Frankly, that will make people think, because they may not care much about their lives, but they do care, believe it or not, about their families’ lives.”

“We’re fighting a very politically correct war,” he said in a different media appearance. “And the other thing is with the terrorists, you have to take out their families. They, they care about their lives.

The New York Times just dared Donald Trump to sue
    - The Washington Post

Oct 13, 2016 - The New York Times has a message for Donald Trump: Bring it on.

After the Republican presidential nominee threatened to sue over sexual assault allegations made against him in an article published Wednesday night, the Times responded Thursday with a letter daring Trump to go through with a lawsuit.

"We did what the law allows," an attorney for the Times wrote. "We published newsworthy information about a subject of deep public concern. If Mr. Trump disagrees, if he believes that American citizens had no right to hear what these women had to say and that the law of this country forces us and those who would criticize him to stand silent or be punished, we welcome the opportunity to have a court set him straight."

OT on Melania. All the Trumps do is lie and lie and lie, and then when forced to correct a lie they do it, but they pretend they never lied. This is too funny, the link below on Mel's updated bio.

And, too, Melania was spotted having lunch out with Barron yesterday. While her husband was meeting with Japan's Abe with Ivanka, Melania just wanted to go out and eat and be looked at. She had no interest in meeting the leader of a country. Trump's other wife did though. My belief is that Trump is so out of his league when meeting anyone that he needs a hand holder, and it's Ivanka. Melania wouldn't be able to engage anyone in conversation and save Trump, who has nothing to say if it's not about owning property in another country or US city. That is how he communicates. And all he otherwise has are sound bites. He can't communicate with the people from government who actually know things. Ivanka will be in on a lot of meetings because she can prevent the awkward silences.

    Anyway, this article is hilarious:

The press and the public are like dogs, easily distracted by squirrels. As a reality star, Trump knows this. This is also from Putin's playbook: you don't have to suppress the press, just deny them access while distracting them with counter information disseminated by the friendly outlets while keeping them busy chasing squirrels by announcing, doing or saying something outrageous every other day.

The Sessions announcement keeps the bleeding heart libtards busy fuming, throws red meat to the racists, keeps mainstream republicans happy because Sessions will support minority voter suppression laws and keeps the controversy-perusing press fapping over over all the brouhaha.
