Election recount update.

Broken seals on voting machines in Wisconsin.
There are a whole lot of moving parts on this recount thing so I thought I would try to include them in one update.

Here goes.

First off yes there are images and video of voting machines in Wisconsin with broken seals. However Snopes currently categorizes these stores as "unproven."

In other news we learned that Jill Stein has changed her strategy in the Pennsylvania recount effort by demanding an emergency federal court order:

The announcement that it would seek an emergency federal court order on Monday for a recount came hours after it dropped a case in the state courts.

"Make no mistake — the Stein campaign will continue to fight for a statewide recount in Pennsylvania," recount campaign lawyer Jonathan Abady said in a statement issued around 11:30 p.m. "We are committed to this fight to protect the civil and voting rights of all Americans."

In the statement, Abady said barriers to a recount in Pennsylvania are pervasive and the state court system is ill-equipped to address the problem.

Along with that news is a report that Trump's margin of victory in Pennsylvania is now within 0.2% of a required recount:

On Friday, in response to President Elect Donald Trump’s application to stop the recounts in Pennsylvania, Green Party candidate and recount catalyst Jill Stein issued a statement where she noted that Trump’s margin of victory is now within 0.2% of an automatic recount. Stein cited this tweet from pollsters Decision Desk HQ for her figures.
Because this is coming from Stein I remain a little skeptical, however if true this could really be a game changer.

We have also learned that a federal judge ordered that a recount in Michigan happen right away.

Now ultimately all of this might be much ado about nothing, OR we could actually find evidence that this election was stolen and this could be a very big deal indeed.

Whatever the case it has certainly gotten under Trump's skin.
Yep, it could be a scam.

But then again this recount thing might terrify Trump because there really is something there for it to find.

All I know is that right now I am keeping an open mind.

Stein doesn't seem to be a scammer, hence why intelligent women support her over HRC. But I do think she's wasting time.

As far as I understand PA upped the price for the recount in order to bankrupt Steins effort. And WI? or MI? Is doing the same, upping the price now that she's actually following through.

Google "strip & flip" . . . the outcome of the election exactly matched what was predicted by Bob Fitrakis & Harvey Wasserman since early 2016. Maybe a little tin foil hat-ish, but I think there is something there. What do you think, Gryphen?

It is not being reported that Trump's margin of victory is withing 0.2%, they are saying the margin is within 0.2% of an automatic recount. Two very different things lol. Get it straight man.

There will be no change. Games are being played by the green party and willing democrats to try and repaint this picture, picking and choosing counties so the numbers they use look better than they really are.

Trump will be President. Glad you have all thrown your energy and money down the rabbit hole again. You are all looking like morons and it is costing you.

Every one of Trump's claims in that stupid tweet is untrue. He is already the worst president in the history of the republic and still weeks away from being sworn in.

On the other hand his medical report was all lies and he's an obese elderly man with an unhealthy lifestyle and pysch issues so he may not live long enough to be sworn in.

Like doubling the cost of the recount when Stein comes up with the initial recount cost?

I hope a judge sticks it to Pennsylvania and makes them do the recount for free. Serves them right for jacking up the cost.

Is Trump's statement below true that Jill Stein dropped the recount because Jill Stein is saying that she doesn't need to file a request because the recount happens automatically because Trump’s margin of victory is now within 0.2% and an automatic recount that happens anyway from the state? I don't trust him.

Former Vice President Al Gore has met President-elect Donald Trump and his daughter Ivanka Trump to discuss climate policy.

The meeting "was a sincere search for areas of common ground," said Mr Gore, a climate change activist.

During his presidential campaign, Mr Trump called man-made climate change a "hoax" perpetuated by China.

His daughter Ivanka reportedly wants to make the subject one of her signature issues.

Al Gore meets Donald Trump and Ivanka for climate talks

It is unclear what role she will have in her father's administration, but he had said that his children would take over his global business interests.

All three of Mr Trump's adult children are serving on his transition team.

Let's see Kasich was offered to be responsible for domestic and foreign policy.

Now Ivanka is responsible for climate control. How about Ivanka work on bringing back jobs to America instead of having her merchandise made in other countries?

And Donald is responsible for hotels, golf courses, state dinners and what not.

Melania is staying in New York for reasons unknown. Why won't they let Barron move to Washington DC? Are they hiding something?

What's any of this got to do with Ivanka Trump? She will not be First Lady; that job goes to the president's spouse, not his daughter, no matter how much he may covet her. If Ivanka is to have a real "job" in this administration, she should divest herself of all of her private business interests. In other words, she should no longer hawk her clothes and jewelry on the internet.

When they are apart it's claimed that speak to each other up to five times a day.

(Ivanka and daddy talks 5 times a day? How many times a day does Donald talk to Melania?)

It was Ivanka, not Melania, who introduced Donald Trump as the Republican nominee for US president.

(Don't assume anything here. Could just be Ivanka is closer to daddy than Melania is to her spouse?)

I saw an article this afternoon that suggested that Florida, yes Florida, may be considering a recount, on account of their Republican governor decided to throw away tens of thousands of mail in ballots.

I will go and look for the link.

    1. That is not the first time I've heard of the mail-in ballot problems with Florida.

I read of several out of state voters that requested mail in ballots and they never arrived. Two actually traveled back to the state just to vote.

The question is, did the Governor toss ballots before they could be mailed or after they were returned?

More importantly, are they GONE or can they still be recovered and counted?

Broken seals of themselves are not necessarily evidence of anything nefarious.

I'm a member of my county electoral board. Three weeks before each election, we run extensive "logic and accuracy tests" on all our voting machines. As a machine passes, we set it up for the election then place seals on the machine:
    -- on the handle
-- on the compartment where the memory card is seated

The seal on the handle is broken when the precinct workers set up the machines on election day . . . they must break the seal to open the machine.

The seal on the memory card compartment is broken after the polls close and tally tapes are printed. The memory cards are removed and placed in an envelope that is sealed and stored in the circuit court clerk's vault.

Two precinct workers -- one R, one D -- must break the seals. They complete the Seal Record Form, certifying to the time and date they broke each seal and certifying to the seal number to ensure it's the same seal we installed after L&A testing.

Without reviewing the seal record logs, a broken seal really doesn't mean anything.

Thanks. Interesting. So the memory cards are vaulted.
I am totally ignorant when it comes to machines. We are paper only, hand counted. I've never seen a machine.

So tally tapes are printed. What happens to those tapes? What is on the memory cards?

Are the seal record logs ever compared?

Trump is heading back out on his thank you tour (he really really misses the adulation of his deplorables - he dreams of their shouts of lock her up, build that wall ....). He's heading to North Carolina Dec 6, Iowa Dec 8 and Michigan Dec 9. Guess he's not busy enough learning about how government works, putting together his cabinet and staffing, oh and before I forget (LOL), working out his conflict of interest problems with his business. Betcha he's out on the trail re-living his campaign glory days every month or so for the next 4 years or until his followers figure out he's used them and he has nothing for them (unless you want to count useless chants).

Stein is Hillary's proxy. The election was not hacked evidenced by no report of thousands of voters being turned away at the polls due a registered vote by the hackers. Pennsylvania's date for a recount was last Wednesday December 30. Stein withdrew her request on Saturday. Doubtful she can refile because she is past the deadline. Hold on to your wallets or maybe Stein can blame it on The Man in the Moon. I saw him shining down

Our elections have seemed a bit hinky for awhile. We should automatically have recounts, especially when the polls and exit polls are so opposite of the actual results. Neither side should have any reason to protest a recount if they believe in democracy.

I gave $40 to the recount effort, not because I think that it will change anything, but because we should have absolute faith in the integrity of our elections.
