"Basket of Deplorables" meet the "Cabinet of Deplorables."

He is correct but the "anti LGBT" after each name just seems like whining, honestly. The progress that this community has enjoyed will not be rolled back. But then Takei is not a woman, so it's not HIS reproductive freedom that actually IS in peril.

Are you out of your mind? All of us are in this together. How do you know the "progress" of that community will not be rolled back? First they took the Gypsys, but I was not a Gypsy ....

Wow, Anan 2:04. Your statement is so wrong, and sad. Anti LGBTQ legislation is being proposed and the rate is very likely going to increase with Trump. Why attack each other? Why try to minimize another's cause to elevate yours? Yes, this community has seen progress, unfortunately, there is still a ways to go, even with you. Freedom for all- we need to support rack other. Stay focused an the real threat.

I don't think saying each of these people is anti LGBT is whining! The LGBT community needs protecting just as much as the pro- choice movement. Why can't one be both Pro LGBT and Pro choice? Thus isn't an either or thing.

Sorry but the original person is spot on. Grorge Takei can get back with me once he has been protesting the Ohio heartbeat abortion law. Ben Carson's and Scott Pruitt's views on LGBT people are pretty irrelevant to their departments.

    5. Bullshit.

His Oligarchs will do what they can to take attack LGBTQ rights. As soon as Trump owns the Supreme Court, he'll take away their right to marry too. They'll start with allowing employers to fire any employee they find out is LGBTQ, landlords being allowed to evict and refuse to rent to them and businesses not required to serve them will quickly follow.

The attacks on the LGBTQ will be instituted more quickly than that against women. But after they've taken care of "the gays" they'll turn their attention to women and start to take back everything women have gain in the last century all the way back to the right to vote. After all, if they allow them to vote, they might put a woman in the White House.

You are full of bs. Women's rights have always been under a much greater threat and they always will be. These people aren't going to concern themselves with marginalizing 10% of the population when they can go for 52%. Wake up people!

  2. So,2:04, how do you know our (LGBT) rights wont be rolled back? Couldn't a Supreme Court overturn Obergfell as easily as Roe V Wade? Seriously, I'm not a lawyer, so tell me what I'm missing.

I don't think it's helpful to divide all the groups people who will be hurt here. Yes, George Takei is gay, and not female, so that's his story. Calling it whining is just divisive when we need to unite against Trump.

      DC -

We do need to unite against Trump but 2:04 didn't bring up something relevant to the argument as well, that being that there is a timing issue with abortion restrictions. A pregnant woman can't wait for things to wind through the courts when an
      abortion is wanted.
Obergell could be overturned as easily as Roe but face it, even Ted Cruz has said that fighting gay marriage isn't near the priority that fighting abortion rights is.

Rolling back abortion rights is a far greater priority than rolling back gay rights. Even Ted Cruz says as much.

Good point 9:08am. These freaks are zeroed in on abortion, not lgbtq stuff.

The DeVos family has its name emblazoned on important medical centers in Michigan. Does Betsy DeVos realize that most doctors and medical researchers were educated in US public schools?

I've often wondered why the Republicans have turned against public education. For many generations, from the beginning of the system, public education was a major point of pride for Americans, all of us, and it certainly was a reason that many of our ancestors came to these shores. Or have the Republicans all forgotten that? So much for the elephant's great memory; I think the GOP elephant only remembers slights perceived.

    1. The public libraries will be next, right after they take down the internet. They need to choke off all means of education and disseminating the truth. Then they can control the narrative. It's how fascists work.

Republicans oppose public education because they want to get their hands on all that money.

    3. Yes, but they also want people stupid and uninformed. They need people who will swallow their narrative without question. That is why they need to suppress the teaching of critical thinking skills and control what information can be accessed. Can't have anyone finding out the propaganda they are feeding the masses is all lies and can't allow them any means to disseminate those facts to the public en masse.

So the internet has to go.

Libraries and librarians are also a threat.

Public money paying private subsidies, private bail outs, private tax gifts, private tax loop holes, private tax incentives, private exemptions and status. private people leasing public buildings. Mean while America worked hard for low wages and slept so soundly. The private global world formed global citizen united to privatize for profit on public dime. Time for change. NO Vouchers. Public School funds are not for private schools. period. You have the freedom to pay for private schools.

I hate to admit it but private prison stocks are really hot right now so if these things continue to be a reality I'm gonna make some money off of them.

At what point should we turn off the public display of private issues. Have we turned into a society of a communal sewer swamp of short finger pointing? Can we focus on the basics of a sound society that once was achieved and desired such as culture, education, morals, manners and respect of fellow human and earth. The hatefulness and entitlement air surrounding these people is odd.

When humanity has two generations free of rape, molestation, or other acts of taking advantage perhaps what is private can stay that way. In my understanding empathy might play a part in achieving the two generational goal

This is outrageous. Just another sign Trump’s plan for Americans is to dumb us down even further. It is an extremely competitive world out there and our kids are failing in science and math. This is outrageous! My generation took a challenge in the early 1960s to excel in those areas to win the space race! Of course, after that success nobody wanted to soldier for the corporations anymore. Instead we protested and curiously standards were relaxed in our educational system. Singapore alone will provide brainpower while Americans will navel gaze, fly drones (our kids sure can play a mean video game!) for the never-ending wars and mindlessly breed for the crappy jobs left over.

    1. Saint Reagan effectively shut down our space program. Also took the solar panels off the White House so there's your Climate Change denial (even though it was about importing oil and becoming energy independent.

As much damage as Reagan did and set us on the path to where we are now, he also wasn't a mean person. He didn't hate the poor. He wasn't in the White House for profit. He wanted to do good for the American people.

There is absolutely nothing in Trump's character for helping anyone in this country but himself. He is truly, totally selfish.

You dumbasses who think that LGBT rights are under worse attack than those of women are probably the same fools who think that a women cannot be misogynistic.
