Huma Abedin, the longtime aide to Hillary Clinton, asked a U.S. judge on Wednesday to allow her to review a search warrant the FBI used to gain access to emails related to Clinton's private server shortly before the Nov. 8 presidential election.
In a letter filed in Manhattan federal court, Abedin said she was never provided a copy of the warrant, nor was her estranged husband, former Democratic U.S. Representative Anthony Weiner, whose computer contained the emails in question.
The letter was filed as a federal judge considers whether to unseal the application for the search warrant, which was obtained after FBI Director James Comey informed Congress of newly discovered emails on Oct. 28.
Comey's letter drew new attention to a damaging issue for Clinton, the Democratic presidential nominee, and roiled the campaign 11 days before the election won by Republican Donald Trump.
In their letter, Abedin's lawyers said she was unable to evaluate the issue as neither she nor Weiner was provided the warrant itself, despite federal rules requiring authorities to provide a warrant to a person whose property was taken.
You not to sound all conspiratorial, but I am beginning to wonder if a warrant even exists for this search.
I am also concerned that if there isn't one it will not really matter in the long run now that Donald Trump is soon to be sworn in as president.
After all Trump protects those who are loyal to him, and let's face it James Comey risked his job and his reputation to help him win this election.
Way back " the presidency of George W. Bush was marked by an energy “free for all” so egregious that an inspector general’s report found that oil and gas companies were effectively bribing government employees with “a wide array of gifts and gratuities” while engaging them in “illegal drug use as well as illicit sexual encounters.”

Well, DUH! It's in every city in every country. What's your point?
DeleteTrump is the most vengeful person in the world.
ReplyDeleteSometime after he is inaugurated, Trump will get even with Hillary Clinton, Michelle and President Obama for what they said about him during the campaign season.
Yup. And many, many more private citizens.
DeleteHe will also punish any and every Elector who does not vote for him on Monday. They will lose their jobs and be harassed by him and his deplorable followers who will get a rude awakening about halfway through next year at the latest.
WHY THE F_CK has she been quiet until now??? Why did she not say this right away and dispute the letter from Comedy???
ReplyDelete+++++++++!
DeleteDoes Huma expect the FBI to return her husband's laptop? How far back before the election did the FBI have this laptop and agents go all into those emails. Then we heard FBI needed a subpeona....then we heard FBI agents were gonna spill about the emails...
ReplyDeleteThis whole thing stinks. Not sure if I ever saw a timeline on this particular laptop discovery.
There is no hope of educating them now......
ReplyDeleteIf the USA begins to take into consideration ONLY the popular vote, we then, become like a 3rd world nation where there is no democracy, there is no freedom and many of their elections are rigged.
Would you be so good as to explain how you come to that conclusion? Especially when it is the electoral system that is screwing us all. Or have you not been paying attention?
DeleteLeland, that was a post found at another site. Sorry I wasn't more clear.
DeleteSo is it a forgone conclusion that the Electoral College will vote Trump in?
ReplyDeleteOr may I still hope that enough of the Electors have a spine, a conscience, and have noticed Trump's actions since the election?
Sure it would be hard and a lot of work if they did not elect him. But that's no reason. The Supremes already did that with Gore, and look where it got us. Doing the right thing, no matter how hard it is, is still the right thing to do.
Or am I totally unrealistic????
Yes, it is a forgone conclusion, and has been a forgone conclusion ever since the election on Nov 8th when Trump heavily won the electoral college and Hillary conceded. It is too bad that you and many others have been fed and believed so much misinformation by the blogosphere that somehow this could be changed.
DeleteAmerica will not upend or undo the whole election process that has always been in place and served this country simply because a bunch of twitter users and bloggers are crying their candidate didn't win.
Bottom line, don't buy into what is being sold to you on the internet by unqualified novices.

Deletenumbnutz,
go fuck your domestic putin apologist self, do it today ..
Hillary did concede, but that does not rule out the president-elect demonstrating himself to be a demagogue and patsy for a foreign govt. So much so that the Electoral College is duty-bound to reject Trump, even if the popular vote was his, which we know it was not. It's all spelled out in the Constitution. However, the courage to do the right thing is the question.
DeleteYes, it is a forgone conclusion,
Delete-------------
Hillary concession doesn't mean anything if trump is a traitor.
The election was rigged and I am positive they will find or have proof trump was in on it. he is a traitor and will be dealt with.
At this point I want him sworn in,impeached, and tried for treason.
DeleteYou silly fools.
DeleteTrump will be President.
Go on whining and pretending it isn't going to happen.
The idea that Trump will punish any Elector who does not vote for him is all the more reason to vote against Trump.
ReplyDeleteWhere are profiles in courage these days?
ReplyDelete2017: Lots to look at here. ;-P

This is great. Thanks.
DeleteI doubt that there was ever a search warrant.
ReplyDeleteThe dept of justice should have a warrant for 8 yrs of emails, text, phone records and everything else from GOP and RNC. This Russian hack was from the republican party of pledge signers in 09 and snowballed into the deplorable cult.
ReplyDeleteExcellent suggestion.
DeleteDid the republicans pick all the electoral voters?

ReplyDeleteThe FBI is becoming more smelly every day.
ReplyDeleteIf the warrant doesn’t exist, I am sure they can write one up and backdate it:)
ReplyDeleteFrom the way this was written the warrant was issued AFTER the seizure of the laptop. And AFTER they knew that Clinton emails were on it.
ReplyDeleteComey is a fucking bastard. Wanna BET dRUMPf's cohorts have prostitution evidence on him?
Wanna bet Obama appointed Comey to hear the FBI?
