Is Joe Biden running for President in 2020. Oh hell no.

Courtesy of Time:

Vice President Joe Biden told reporters Monday that he might run for president in 2020.

“Yeah, I am. I am going to run in 2020,” Biden told reporters when asked if he would run for office again.

Asked whether he was kidding, Biden said he wasn’t making a commitment to run, CNBC reported.

“I’m not committing not to run,” he said. “I’m not committed to anything. I learned a long time ago, fate has a strange way of intervening.”

I heard the tape that his reporting is based on and to me it sounded like Biden was just screwing with the reporters.

Look we all love "Uncle" Joe Biden, he's awesome!

However in 2020 Biden will be 78 years old.

That is not the age when people run for President, that is the age when they try to remember their wife's name and keep thinking that it's 1969.

As much as we love Joe, he knows we won't vote for him in 2020.

No Joe Biden is a national treasure, but he is at an age where national treasures go into a museum, not into the Oval Office.

Say it ain't so, Joe! We need new blood infused into the party, and Joe would be a great statesman for guidance. Plus, I selfishly want to remember him as a big part of the winning team. I just couldn't handle watching him go through what Hillary went through.

We need a young whipper-snapper to take on the behemoth that is the corrupt GOP.

  2. I beg to differ on the age. Husband is 79 and just drove his GTX 1 cross country. Check out GTX1 and you are in for treat. His name very day car is Corvette z06. Just had a Jake Scull embroidered on the headrests.

I never got the sense he was being anything but mischievous with that statement. Love Joe.

    1. I agree. With his "What the hell?" comment, it came across to me as "Hey, why shouldn't I run? I couldn't be any worse than Giant Flabby Pumpkinhead."

I'd like to see the Electoral College reject Trump and vote for Biden. It won't happen but it would be assume.

Biden's a highly intelligent and experienced man and is more than qualified to be president.

    2. 12:14, that is a silly and ignorant thing to say. You obviously don't know very much about VP Biden.

Apparently you are an under educated dolt if you feel that way. Joe Biden single handedly ended the Croatian/Serbian War in the 90's.
Not only is he higly intelligent, he was able to not only negotiate a seize fire, but an end to the war. Now that is the person I want running our country.

One thing people need to keep in mind is, the way the media is, the in-your-face, here let me harass and judge innocent people until they break the strongest person down media, even the best person is going to be affected in some way. If someone does not pursue or WANT media presence, goddamn respect their wishes or they kind of have a right to punch you if they wish.

This comes from me watching some of these celebs respond to Paps following them and honestly, I wish more would throw shit at the photogs even if it's a drink.

It makes me think of the Palins of course, only one of which has a problem with the media, yet is still a good person, good father, damn hard worker and respects people who deserve it. The Palins are amazing because they're humble and don't think of themselves as celebrities. It's all about the intangible, non-materialism.

    2. I am getting almost a dozen of these rambling off topic defenses of Palin a day.

I kick almost all of them back, but occasionally one slips through.

I would not be surprised if these rambling refudiations were from Sarah Palin or Bristol. The grammar is atrocious and the content is smarmy sweet and fawningly fantastical.

Do you think the Palin's believe these fantasies or is it possible they actually have some semblance of self-actualization where they realize they are grifting, immoral and uneducated hypocrites?

Regardless of any other consideration if you listened to that little exchange you would see for yourself they were all having a joke among themselves. Joe was merely being philosophical.

This just shows again that the media have become nothing more than a pathetic useless echo chamber trolling for clicks.

If Biden is just as he is now two years hence when the campaign season starts up, I see no reason why he can't run. I wish he had run this time but the death of his son changed things. He'd not actually shown outright interest in running for too long. He and Hillary could have been the perfect ticket. He could have served four years (maybe eight but I was thinking four at the time) and then she could have won the next two elections. When Joe went through what he had to, I then wanted Hillary to ask Sherrod Brown to be her running mate and it was exciting anticipating that. Sherrod and Joe are so alike. Hillary would have won with him on the ticket. She should have won with Kaine, but no way would she have lost with Sherrod Brown. If Joe runs, he will have younger blood as veep and I think a wise choice will get Joe the win.

The reason the internet is a dark place is because of hate sites run by abusers like TMZ, Wonkette...

If you don't see them as abusive, you are an abuser.

Well, no, you fucking nasty piece of work. You come here every day to spill your nasty, judgmental bilge. You want to call people abusers, take a good long look in the mirror.

Wonkette goes after abusive people like your idols, the vicious and hateful Palin clan.

    Speaking of abuse:

A Christian doctor removed my clitoris when I was three years old as a ‘cure’ for masturbation, writes Renee Bergstrom

In 1947, when I was just three years old a doctor removed my clitoris. Female genital mutilation is mostly associated with African cultures, and non-Christian religions, but my FGM happened in white, midwest America. It took place in a church clinic that used a scalpel on girls who masturbated.

I remember the excruciating pain and feeling betrayed. I was told not to talk about it...

I have to say that I disagree with ou. Many senior people are just fine to work long hrs at 78. Hell my 95 yr old Dad retired for the first time at 64 and then again at 75, and then he retired for good at age 91. And he was NOT working as a greeter in Walmart either. Don't discount Joe Biden, his family has a long lifespan overall. And he doesn't have a gold digging prostitute as a wife either.

I beg your pardon, 78 is not necessarily old!!!

I sure hope you were trying to be funny; otherwise your post was insulting.

And no I am not 78, I am much younger.

  15. If the comment about a 78-year-old forgetting his wife's name and the current year was intended to be a joke, it was crass and ignorant in the extreme.

Dementia is not a normal part of aging. When it does occur, there's nothing funny about it. People with dementia lose everything, not just their memories. Confusion is followed by severe agitation, paranoia, loss of bladder and bowel control, inability to speak, and progressive muscle weakness until the individual can no longer sit up, move, or even breathe. Death often results from suffocation due to pneumonia.

It's one of the worst things anyone can experience, and it's just as bad for those who love them.

    1. Memory loss is not always a sign of Dementia or Alzheimer's, sometimes it is just a byproduct of getting up in years.

I understand that everybody needs to find something to be outraged about constantly these days, but this is fairly ridiculous.

My point is that the public would worry about a man that was almost eighty starting perhaps the most stressful job on the planet, and would likely want to hand it to a much younger individual.

      Delete
    2. There's a big difference between normal memory loss and dementia, a syndrome which has multiple causes. (BTW, dementia is not a proper noun and shouldn't be capped.)

The shortcomings you joke about are among the hard diagnostic signs of dementia. Forgetting an acquaintance's name is normal memory loss. Forgetting the name of a close family member, or mistaking the current year, are signs of dementia. They are not within the limits of normal memory loss.

I know what your point was. What is objectionable is the crude way you chose to express it. Yes, I'm outraged that anyone thinks it's acceptable to mock the symptoms of a syndrome that ruins countless lives and causes untold suffering, not to mention billions in health care costs and lost productivity of the sufferer and the caregivers (usually family members) who must quit work to provide unpaid care.

Trump was deservedly criticized for mocking a reporter with a withered arm. In effect, you're taking a similar tack by jokingly attributing a severely disabling syndrome to all people of a certain age.

My husband has had dementia for over 11 years as a result of his exposure to Agent Orange in Vietnam. I don't "need to find something to be outraged about," and there's nothing "ridiculous" about his condition. You are living in a bubble of naievete.

You were once a para-educator.You know what a teachable moment is, so take advantage of this one. Learn what dementia is, and understand that it's never acceptable to make light of it.

I think that Vide President Biden is trying to keep our spirits up, reminding us that there will be another election and that we have to focus on the future. As a person in her seventies, I doubt very much that Vice President Biden is seriously considering a run for the presidency in 2020, although he could return a lot of sanity and good governance to the country after we weather what's coming.

Biden was on Steven Colbert last night and he pointed out that in 2020 he will be 78, trump will be 74, but he is in much better shape !!

He also mentioned the Democrats are not finished; there are elections in 2018 to concentrate on.
