Rachel Maddow's interview with Kellyanne Conway was nothing short of amazing.

Courtesy of Raw Story:

Pointing out that Trump encouraged his rally crowd to target ABC reporter Martha Raddatz over false claims that she cried the night he was elected, Conway tried to insist that everyone on Trump’s team has “enormous respect” for Raddatz, whom they all agree is a “tour de force.”

Maddow reminded Conway that “telling a story about her that is not true” to crowds of thousands throughout the United States is hardly indicative of “enormous respect” and asked if Raddatz could expect an apology sometime soon. Conway insisted those types of conversations don’t happen in public.

“The accusation was made publicly,” Maddow pressed.

Conway quickly changed the topic, instead discussing Trump’s “relationship with the press” and the “negative press coverage” she says marred his campaign.

Later in the interview Conway defended Melania's hiring of the same lawyer that drove Gawker out of business to go after the Daily Mail and a blogger who insinuated that she had once worked as an escort.

Conway's defense of that is that the damage had already been done so even though there was an apology as well as a retraction of the story it was too late.

When Rachel asked if this lawsuit might continue even after Melania becomes first lady, Conway said that it might.

When Rachel mentioned that this was unheard of for first families, Conway suggested that the Trump's had been under attack by the media in ways that no other presidential family had been forced to endure, “It’s just different for the Trumps."

At this point I literally jumped up out of my seat and yelled at the TV for Maddow to remind this peroxide little bitch, that her boss had risen to national attention by claiming that the sitting President of the United States was not born in this country.

Despite my yelling Rachel did not do that, nor did she mention the number of times that Carson herself had claimed that Hillary Clinton was a criminal and about to be indicted during the campaign.

Nor about that time her boss claimed that Ted Cruz's dad had something to do with the assassination of JFK.

(Though much earlier in the interview she did confront her about Trump's National Security Advisor Gen. Flynn had tweeted that Hillary Clinton was part of that fake Pizzagate scandal, and therefore a child rapist.)

We talk about the death of irony with the election of this orange tinted buffoon, but this interview drove that point home like a stake through the heart.

But even more chilling is that it reveals that not only does this evil administration expect to never be held accountable for their lies and misstatements, but that if any news outlet or blogger reports negatively about them they risk being sued into non-existence.

This is not a presidential administration, this is an authoritarian dictatorship where dissension will not be tolerated, and critics must fear for their livelihoods, if not their very lives.

I feel like if I said what I'd really like to see happen to Trump I'd end up on a watch list and my computer would be hacked into and my phones bugged!

I think we will soon see v little criticism of Trump as he organizes how best to put the screws on those who criticize or work on goals he dislikes. Like having your name on the list of those who work on gender equality or climate change. But Trump can do far more: a call from the IRS, a frivolous lawsuit that few us us can afford to address, there are so many ways to shut people up.

I am wondering how long Krugman will continue his stance, for example. I happen to agree with his every point, but no question in my mind that he is putting himself in personal danger. 4 yrs is a long time.

FUCK YOU Trump, Conway, Palin, and the horses of the apocalypse you've got riding with you into DC.

You can find me IP address easy enough, as Gryph can. Show up on my doorstep and cart me off for speaking loud against you. I double dog dare you.

Is Der Drumpenfuhrer going to allow for resistance from protesters while he is being sworn in at his inauguration?
I thought the protesters registered for the use of the nearby parks and streets to protest way before Drumpf demanded the protesters be shut out and be shut down from protesting his Royal d'Orangeness.
It's going to be a loooooonnnnggg four years if we all survive. And he had better be stopped before the next election.
Kris Kobach and his evil election fraud scheme to steal the election, which succeeded so elegantly, should be sent to live in Siberia never to be heard from ever again!
Why Hillary did not intervene in the vote re-count will be debated for years.

President Trump is friends with evil Putin and the evil man who said this:

Buffalo residents were asked what they wished for in 2017. In answering what he'd like to happen most next year, the former New York GOP gubernatorial candidate replied:

Obama catches mad cow disease after being caught having relations with a Herford. He dies before his trial and is buried in a cow pasture next to [senior White House advisor] Valerie [Jarrett], who died weeks prior, after being convicted of sedition and treason, when a Jihady cell mate mistook her for being a nice person and decapitated her.
And when asked what he would most like to see go in 2017, he responded:

Michelle Obama. I'd like her to return to being a male and let loose in the outback of Zimbabwe where she lives comfortably in a cave with Maxie, the gorilla.

To me, these comments are the perfect moment to remember what Michelle Obama said to Oprah about being insulted: first, she feels the shock of it, next she reminds herself "it's not about me: it's about the person who is making the vulgar comment."

So true. Imagine what the inside of this guy's head is like.

I live in NY, about an hour and a half from Buffalo, so I remember very well the nastiness that this piece of scum perpetrated during his campaign.

He was caught several times distributing mass emails that were disgustingly racist and/or pornographic (including a bestiality video), which he continued to unapologetically send out, claiming that they were 'funny'. He also fathered a child with an employee while married to another woman.

He is cut from the same cloth as the next resident of the White House (ugh) but doesn't have quite as much money to compensate for the slime that oozes out of every orifice.

      And he HATES President Obama.

I'm confident that I can safely assume the people who voted for him to become governor also voted for Trump since they are both hateful slugs without a trace of class between them.

Take that Net...." It was also a firm rebuke of both Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, who had strongly argued against it, and President-elect Donald Trump, who had taken the highly unprecedented move of weighing in Thursday and pressing for the measure to be vetoed."

So...people say Melania Trump posed in pornographic pictures (and there are many such pictures of her), and that's a bridge too far...but it's perfectly okay to claim Michelle Obama is a man and/or a gorilla. Rightwing logic.

OT: Is it me or is POLITICO finally growing tired of the orange orangutan? Many of their stories lately have the tone of a not too-happy group of "newsies" with the way the Trump administration is progressing. Before the election they couldn't criticize Obama and Hillary enough.

My favorite Rachel put down was when they were discussing Trump's plan to expand nuclear weapons. Kelly Anne tried to invoke the horrors of the attacks in Nice, Paris, Berlin, Orland, San Bernadino, you know, those international bad guys. Rachel interrupted her asking what those incidents had to do with nuclear power. None of those attacks had anything to do with nuclear, but Kelly Anne saw them as a "metaphor." Rachel clocked her!

Kelly Anne chatters away, never letting facts get in the way of her smooth, cleverly worded delivery. She talks fast enough so that few people can interrupt her. She smiles while she is spewing her hate. Being interviewed by Rachel was the first time that anyone put Kelly Anne in her place, point by point and sentence by sentence. Rachel was well studied and prepared and Kelly Anne was not. After the US and Russia, Rachel asked who else had nuclear power? Kelly Anne didn't know. Rachel has spent a lot of time studying nuclear disarmament. The answer was India and Pakistan. Rachel did a great job.

    1. I'll bet it's the last time Kellyanne is on Maddow. If anyone from Trump's administration appears on her show they'll be better prepared. But it won't help. So after that, probably no one from his administration will appear on her show for the remaining four years.

She framed the whole interview with stories about two women who had been lied about (well, we don't really know that Melania was never an escort). Conway pretended that Trump had apologized re Martha, but of course that never happened and he has since repeated his false claim. But oh, say one thing negative or untrue about Melania and he's taking you to court. Like I complained earlier, I do wish that Rachel had brought up how Trump had defamed Obama's entire family, especially two girls, with his false claims re Obama's birth.

When Ted Cruz was still in the race Mrs. Ed was with his campaign. She was quoted actually describing Fat Donald pretty accurately, pointing out all of his horrible traits and faults. I didn't watch the interview because I knew it would be too gushy, but if Rachel didn't bring this up, she should have. "How can you work for the man that you called all sorts of names just a few months ago? Who changed, you or Fat Donald? Were you lying then, or are you lying now?" MSNBC has become way too cozy with the Dark Side. I am not interested in anything they have to say, with maybe three exceptions. Charlie Sykes makes sense to me, and god help me but Nicole Wallace and Steve Schmidt-the Palin Hunters-have been totally watchable during the horrible campaign, and after. One Rethug I literally cannot watch is that odious Hugh Hewitt. Pure slime.

You know what? How about we just stop putting these people and their lying pieholes on the teevee?

No more studio interviews, no more remote interviews, no sound bites from "rallies", no reporting of Shitler's tweets, no gangs of photographers camped outside the elevator at his shitty apartment building, no surrogates on the "shows" gish-galloping their way through a 3 minute hit, no flunky sent out quickly to explain what it was that Shitler "actually" meant to say. It's just all such amateurish bullshit, and the media just keeps eating it up, and spitting it back out 50 times a day.

The man was hired to be President of the United States, not some reality teevee star. He should be forced to follow protocol, stop deflecting criticism onto someone else, QUIT LYING, and for dog's sake...do the job he was hired to do!

If the new president, and his employees, can't do those things, don't give them any air time, period. They have no interest in the wants and needs of the American people as a whole, so why bother with them?

I am certain that there are people in politics and elsewhere, that go to work, and effectively do their job to make other's lives better. How about we give some attention to people who know how to behave in a professional manner?
