Ted Cruz warns that Democrats will be“obstructionists at a level we’ve never seen.” That's right Ted "Let's close the government down until we get our way" Cruz said that.

Please don't punish us like we punished you.

Ted Cruz warned that Democrats will become “obstructionists at a level we’ve never seen” under a Donald Trump administration.

In what has to be a giant fit of irony, the Texas lawmaker — who single-handedly shut the government down because Democrats wouldn’t repeal their signature health care law — predicted to Turning Point USA that Democrats will “filibuster absolutely everything they can,” according to Texas Tribune reporter Patrick Svitek.

Apparently Cruz, whose stunt was described by a Senate aide as “a toddler’s version of legislating,” is now worried that the minority party will resort to what was essentially the only page of the Republican Party playbook from 2010 to now. Since 2010 GOPers have filibustered hundreds of bills passed by the House of Representatives explicitly because they wanted to make Obama “a one-term president.”

You know I often say that conservatives have absolutely not sense of irony. And here is Ted Cruz working hard to prove that point.

Cruz warned that Democrats have been "radicalized" by Trump's election and will attempt to stop him at every turn.

God I hope so.

Only if Democrats do that, it will NOT be due to Trump's skin color (Burnt orange?), or simply as an act of partisan defiance.

It will be in the service of preserving our republic and defending our country from a crazed megalomaniac who appears for all the world to be channeling a certain mustachioed German dictator.

That is not "obstructionism," that's patriotism.

I just can't get beyond the fact that he has a face that asks to be punched.

That is one ugly SOB. His nose looks as though somebody decided to haul off and punch him right in the face. Whoever did that is a hero to me. I can't decide if I would rather punch Cruz or Eric Trump. Ideally, both.

The funniest insult lobbied at Cruz during the primaries was from some millenial dude who called him a "fish monster". It's both absurd AND true, my favorite form of comedy.

Of course, THEY will claim they were doing it to save the country as well, and there's no amount of proof they will acknowledge to the contrary.

Besides, personally, I think the Democrats will be obstructing the dangerous crap Humpty Trumpty will propose - and we all know that kind of shit is coming.

My only hope is that there are enough repubes still loyal to the republic who will join them. It may be a forlorn hope, but it's probably all we have at this point.

Let the egotistical bastard scream and threaten suit. With any amount of luck the pig will die of a stroke or heart attack. Unfortunately, that sticks us with Pence, who will also require the same treatment of denial.

Then again, maybe it would be better to watch the idiot have his tantrums because he CAN'T get his little way. Perpetual anger would be fun to watch.

    Yeah. Let the baby suffer.

In general, Democrats close to Schumer said he does not view challenging Trump directly on a daily basis as necessarily the right strategy to protect his fragile caucus — but also that he plans to push hard on confirmation hearings and be militant in his opposition to repealing Obamacare and going after Dodd-Frank.

But in terms of simply going full war on Trump, one Democrat close to Schumer said: “He will leave that to the external groups, and look for ways to work together.”

“He will start from what's the end point and work backwards,” said the former Schumer aide. “He certainly won’t close off that type of conversation. He'll be open to conversation. He will pick his spots and find places to stand up to Trump and fight till the last dog dies.”

Chuck Shumer is a master strategist.
His plan for Hillary to win the presidency by garnering 2 GOP votes for every Dem vote lost worked out well in the last prezzy election. We should all listen to Shumer, he's the man with the plan.

Democrats care more about the country than Republicans and always try to find accommodations. This is the art of the compromise, something the GOP sorely needs to learn about.

    Jeremy Bratcher:
Americans should hold a national day of protest (peaceful) on January 20.

Anyone who doesn’t support Donald Trump should show the country as well as the whole world how they feel.

Just imagine if millions of people – and I literally mean millions – took the day off and held their own personal protest.

People could march in the streets, write to their elected representatives, or simply post a video on Youtube explaining their concerns about a Trump presidency.

Imagine if the whole world saw how many Americans truly despise this newly elected president. Imagine the message this would send to all the citizens of the world and to all of the “others” in our country who feel threatened by Trump’s racist, sexist, xenophobic rhetoric.

    Just imagine.

    "Lyin'LiTed,"

What can you say about your boss "Lyin' Donnie" filling the swamp?

"Trump’s cabinet and other high-level appointments seem to have deviated somewhat from his “drain the swamp” message."

    Politico:
Gingrich: Trump backing away from 'drain the swamp'

By LOUIS NELSON 12/21/16 07:41 AM EST

President-elect Donald Trump campaigned on a promised to “drain the swamp” in Washington of corruption, but now that he’s preparing to move into the White House, Newt Gingrich said the Manhattan billionaire is looking to distance himself from that message.

“I'm told he now just disclaims that. He now says it was cute, but he doesn't want to use it anymore,” the former House Speaker and close Trump adviser said of the “drain the swamp” message in an NPR interview published Wednesday morning....

Trump’s cabinet and other high-level appointments seem to have deviated somewhat from his “drain the swamp” message. After attacking Democrat Hillary Clinton regularly throughout the campaign for being too close to Wall Street banks, Trump has put three former Goldman Sachs executives in prominent White House positions, including Steven Mnuchin as treasury secretary, Steve Bannon as chief White House strategist and Gary Cohn as the director of the National Economic Council...

The Democrats would never behave the way the GOP has behaved in Congress over the past eight years. But, since the media did such a bad job of reporting the GOP seditious behavior, now the GOP can turn on the Democrats and accuse them of planning to do exactly what they've done. The media (and the public) will never know the truth. The most recent session of Congress has been all but useless. The Senate has rarely in its history worked so little and the House did virtually nothing - except vote against Obamacare again and again.

I SO hope that Democrats in Congress obstruct the Hell out of the Trump administration just as was done to President Obama for his two terms by the Republicans!

I say shut them down, Democrats! Don't be pussy cats about it either. Go after Trump as he begins his illegal doings and set the scene for impeachment within his first year!

I hope so too, but they already caved in on the miners health care. They should have shut the government down. Democrats are just going to get rolled over by the Republicans.

Ted Cruz is the world's biggest asshole. I felt a twinge of respect from him when he stood up against Trump but then he sold out again. What a ho. Now he's accusing what he has done himself. I wanted to have this all unifying feeling for the Republicans but people like him won't allow the love. They just want to own the world. They spew values but they go against things that don't personify personal accountability. Even the so called Christian people are crazy. All because they couldn't stand the thought of a woman president. Oh, the things that could have been with Hillary. Now we have the Queen of Drama in the White House who might morph into Hitler at any point and time.

The Rethugs essentially shut down the business of government for 8 years, but media didn't bother to adequately report on it. When WE THE PEOPLE do the same they will report it from the top of dRUMPf tower.

  20. At a level we've never seen?

    I wish.

Obstructionist? I pray every day that Chuck Schumer has the balls and the backbone to herd the Democrats and as many like minded Republicans as he can to obstruct these McConnell fuckers at every single turn.

I want them to be worse Obstructionists than the Republicans have been for the last fucking EIGHT years but if they can only be AS good, I'll take that.

What I don't want to see is Schumer and the Democrats cave, grovel and "cooperate in the spirit of bipartisanship and to heal and unify our nation."

    http://www.huffingtonpost.com/richard-greene/heres-the-way-the-only-wa_b_13773474.html?section=us_politics

"The Filibuster was created to provided a powerful check and balance on a runaway train of majority control and to protect the interests of the minority in American politics."

"But if Chuck Schumer says, “NO” and Filibusters those bills and pulls together at least 41 of the 48 Democratic Senators, then Majority Leader McConnell and the other 51 Republican Senators will not be allowed to vote on that bill. They will not have the 60 votes necessary to close the Filibuster or, as they say, “Invoke Cloture”.

And that’s it. The bill dies in The Senate and Mr. Trump doesn’t get what he wants.

The same is true for Supreme Court nominees. If 41 Democrats say “NO”, Mr. Trump does not get his nominee."

"Should the Republicans decide to vote for “The Nuclear Option” and “nuke” the Filibuster entirely, the Democrats might as well stay home. Without a Filibuster, Donald Trump does not need even 1 Democratic vote and Republicans would have full dictatorial control over politics and policy and The Supreme Court.

As tempting as that might be for Republicans and Mitch McConnell, The Majority Leader understands the consequences and that if they are ever in The Minority again, (and they will be) that they and democracy would suffer massively for this short term move. "

OR they can do like North Carolina did and invoke the nuclear option while they have the majority and then reverse themselves when a Democratic majority is about to be seated.

Because they are all partisan fuckers that don't give a shit about this nation.
