Ashley Judd's slam poetry speech at yesterday's Women's March is everything good about our country.

Courtesy of Raw Story:

Interrupting a speech being given by activist Michael Moore, Judd explained,”I bring you words from Nina Donovan,” a 19-year-old poet from Tennessee.

The actress then belted out Donovan’s slam poetry, beginning with, “I am a nasty woman. Not as nasty as a man who looks like he bathes in Cheeto dust, a man whose words are a dis to America, Electoral College-sanctioned hate speech.”

“I feel Hitler in these streets, Nazis renamed,” Judd continued, before turning to Trump’s disturbing comments about his daughter Ivanka.

“I’m not as nasty as your daughter being your favorite sex symbol,” she exclaimed. “Our p*ssies ain’t for grabbing. This p*ssy is for my pleasure and giving birth to more nasty woman,” the poem concludes.

I was absolutely floored by the passion that I witnessed yesterday emanating from the women, and men, who participated in those protests.

But damn, Ashley Judd looked like she ate lightning and crapped thunder during her speech.

THAT is what we need so much more of.

THAT is how we take back our country.

THAT is how we speak truth to power.

And THAT is how we survive the Trump presidency.

I thought Michael Moore was the one whose speach should be repeated and repeated. He gave real numbers to call, "phone these every day," he said, "Jam their lines." Call your congressmen, daily, and let them know how you feel. Then he gave a list of points to follow every day - make the calls, join every support organization you can find. "I just joined Planned Parenthood today," he said with a grin. Run for office, and make the changes you want to see in your state government. Let the country know how it works, state by state. The leads the way and sets the example. Yes. Go!

    2. There was an old Auntie during Friday's inaugural dressed in purple that gave Trump the fingers on both hands. She was part of a protest. They got her photo and it's gone viral. Probably not hard to find.

  4. The best speech I have ever hear in my entire seventy four years of life. I live in St Pete Florida and we had biggest crowd in history at our local March.
Gryphen, keep the momentum going. Drop the plains and guns and lead your followers into action. Tell us what to do.

We do exactly what was done yesterday. Speak up, loud and strong. DAILY.

I'm sure that they think yesterday was a flash in the pan and "this too shall pass." I intend to give them back tenfold what they gave to President Obama for eight years.

    2. I lived in Florida for 20 plus years and it can get hairy there for women and liberals. I am so pleased to hear of St. Pete. I worked in the U.S. Home building on Gulf-to-Bay for Shearson Lehman as a stock broker. It was a snake pit for pussy grabbing fat Republican entitled men. So I am glad the women south of Tarpon Springs busted out!
Gonna carry water and keep doing heavy lifting all over the Midwest!

Unknown above (5:46) always posts unique trolling posts a la "tell us what to do" and "be our leader" blah blah blah. Am I the only person catching this?

Freedom has to be won, not taken for granted. The lesson
had to be learned. Hope we survive to achieve it.

After the unbelievable turnout across the country and the world yesterday I feel some hope.
I also am feeling a bit of joy at the fact that DC rocked it and beat tRumps attendance from the day before by many 100's of thousands.

The only thing more stupid than Ashley Judd, is Ashley Judd doing beat poetry.

Or trolls complaining about those who are trying to correct major mistakes like Humpty Trumpty.

I wonder how long it will take Humpty Trumpty to begin retaliating against the women who spoke up the loudest? You KNOW he will.

He has one itty bitty problem with that, however. Those who DID speak out are the ones who will fight back and give him more fingers!

He seems to have never learned one simple, OLD phrase: Hell hath NO fury like that of a woman scorned. I would love to see his face when he sees his attacks don't work - unless he tries assassination. And I wouldn't put it past him, either.
