Meryl Streep uses Golden Globe speech to slam Donald Trump.

Courtesy of CNN:

Meryl Streep was honored at the Golden Globes for a lifetime of notable work, and she took the opportunity to make a sustained attack on US President-elect Donald Trump.

In a nearly 6-minute address while accepting the Cecil B. DeMille Award, the actress denounced Trump's campaign rhetoric and criticized him for mocking a disabled reporter.

As the audience of Hollywood stars and executives sat in silence, Streep said: "There was one performance this year that stunned me. It sank its hooks in my heart. Not because it was good, there was nothing good about it, but it was effective and it did its job.

"It was that moment when the person asking to sit in the most respected seat in our country imitated a disabled reporter. Someone he outranked in privilege, power and the capacity to fight back."

I think we all remember that moment when during the campaign Trump mocked New York Time reporter, Serge Kovalski, for having the temerity to point out that there was no way he saw "thousands" of Muslims celebrating in Jersey City, N.J., as the World Trade Center towers burned and fell during the 9/11 terror attack.

Trump and his flying monkeys have attempted to make excuses or deny that it happened, but we all saw it.

However Trump being Trump he not only felt the need to once again deny that he did this, but then to attack one of our most beloved entertainers as well.
This, THIS is the guy who supposed to lead out country for the next four years.

Dear God, help us all. Vladimir really outdid himself, getting this orange sob into power. He has no idea how to even ACT presidential. Buffoon. To go from the classy, highly intelligent Obamas to THIS mob of shysters is going from the sublime to the ridiculous. The gop will do anything, promote anyone to keep power, even a borderline maniac like tRump. He should never have been released from the mental treatment center he was admitted to in the 90's. 1. Kellyanus Conjob has changed her tactics.

Now she says we should ignore what Donald *says* and only believe what is in his heart.

      WHATTHEFUCK!?

And how are we supposed to do that? Get a psychic?

Other than what he SAYS and what he DOES, how are we to know what is "in his heart"?

I know what's in his heart.

He's a sexual predator that preys on women, denigrates them, objectifies them, dismisses them and considers them worthless unless they are a 10 or in some other way show that they can provide some specific value he needs. (Like sex or in Conjob's example a lawyer who talks a mile a minute and lies through her teeth to clean up his messes.)

He's a racist who would rather all of the people who aren't white and wealthy disappear from his sight. Maybe from the earth. The women can stay if they're young and a 10 and will have sex with him. Maybe a few more for cooking and cleaning as long as they are out of sight. And a couple of eunuchs to do the gardening and trash removal. That's about Trump's speed.

We know he's a cheat and a thief. Look how many people who work for him are stiffed on their contracts and have to SUE him to get paid. Then he settles with them for pennies on the dollars he owes them.

      We know he's a LIAR.

We know he's petty, vindictive and thin skinned.

Does Kellyanus really want us to "guess" what is in Donald Trump's heart? Because if she leaves it to us, we are going to assume a lot WORSE than she thinks we are.

So, if you don't actually "know" him, personally you can't "attack" him? what a crock of S - - -! We all KNOW him because he is always in our face, he never shuts up, and he never changes. So, anyone with eyes, ears, and a modicum of smarts can KNOW this shallow, insecure, little boy of a man. Everyone but him that is. He has no insight at all into how he is perceived based on his own actions and words -- actions and words that make his failings so obvious over and over and over again.

      Yeah, you've said it!

He says that all the time. Says so-and-so doesn't know him and he acts like they have no right to an opinion. And yet he is always trashing people he doesn't know.

That's part of his "know/don't know" technique that he learned from his early mobster-defender mentor Cohn (who Trump abandoned when he learned Cohn was gay and had AIDS). Trump was taught to deny everything, no matter what. Just keep a straight face and act like you don't know something or attack the other for not knowing what they're saying.

The other part, as we've seen time and again, is to deny knowing someone who he's associated with or who speaks of him, like David Duke and the KKK. Really? Come on! And he has denied knowing people who have worked with him or for him.

Meryl Streep Tears Into This Year's Most Despicable Performance: Donald Trump

    http://www.motherjones.com/media/2017/01/meryl-streep-donald-trump-golden-globes-mocked-disabled-reporter

Of all the “performances” this year, there was one that “stunned” her, that “sank its hooks” into her heart. “Not because it was good—there was nothing good about it,” Streep said. “But it was effective and it did its job. It made its intended audience laugh and show their teeth. It was that moment when the person asking to sit in the most respected seat in our country imitated a disabled reporter, someone he outranked in privilege, power, and the capacity to fight back. Note that Trump says someone "attacked" him he proceeds to lie about them. When the story keeps changing about the reporter Trump brands the word liar on him self again. Words are only tools and weapons to pathological personality Trump.

Meryl Streep was courageous to give the speech to reach Americans upholding human decency and empathy. Her simple reminder that Hollywood is made up of people from all around the country and from around the world was pointed.

Evidently successful entertainers and performers have had enough of being type cast to be reviled unwilling to participate in the inaugeration of Donald Trump who represents anti American
foundation excluding the majority of citizens.

She made a plea for the free press, “We need the principled press to hold power to account. To call him on the carpet for every outrage. That’s why our founders enshrined the press and its freedoms in our Constitution. So I only ask the famously well-heeled Hollywood press, and all of us in our community to join me in supporting the Committee to Protect Journalists. Because we’re going to need them going forward, and they’ll need us to safeguard the truth.”

WOW, that is what I call courage.

OMG, the spin here is like The Exorcist!

...Conway, who served as Trump’s campaign manager, appeared on CNN’s “New Day” and questioned whether celebrities should bring up politics during awards shows.

“They can say what they want, but they have to be held to account,” Conway said.

Streep, who won a lifetime achievement award, criticized Trump — without saying his name — for mocking a disabled reporter who had angered him, but Conway echoed her boss and denied it.

“Why can’t you give him the benefit of the doubt?” Conway said, and tried to change the subject to polls and analysts who predicted Trump would lose the election.

CNN’s Chris Cuomo pointed out that video showed Trump imitating the speech and gestures of the disabled reporter, but Conway denied that’s what the president-elect had done.

“You should give him the deference and respect — if he says he was mocking the groveling, he said that again this morning,” Conway said.

Cuomo reminded her that Trump’s gestures clearly imitated “the guy’s vulnerability,” but Conway insisted he should take her boss at his word.

“You’re saying you don’t believe him,” she said. “You’re calling him a liar, and you shouldn’t.”

...Conway again urged Cuomo to simply take Trump at his word instead of trusting what he’d seen on video.

“You have to listen to what the president has said about that,” she said. “Why don’t you believe him?”

That seemed absolutely unbelievable, given how he watches SNL and the fact that Melania has no interests other than yoga and fashion magazines (cited in her bizarre bio). Well, if he missed it, he made sure he saw it later. Why bother doing that? Obama and Bill Clinton and the Bushes never would have done it--they'd have shrugged it off and not feel the need to go watch what had been said about them. But wow, Trump had to go tweet about it in the early AM. Clearly, he was fuming all night and got no sleep.

There's no doubt in my mind that Trump is thinking of this White House thing as a Trump dynasty. No way will he be interested in another four years. SIL Jared Kushner is working on selling his paper (that he only bought so as to speak in defense of his jailed father) and he is set to be Trump's senior advisor and have a West Wing office--this was confirmed today on TV. And of course Ivanka will be First Lady in many ways. I bet Trump's thinking of SIL Kushner as the veep candidate with Pence at the top of the ticket and he thinks Kushner will run after eight years of Pence. It doesn’t matter that Kushner never ran for a damn thing and was just in real estate (and there are so many online complaints about him as a slum landlord) and then bought a paper on a whim. The Trumps are never expected to put in the hard time and to perform any service to this country. They just take what they want. I think Trump thinks the Kushner is going to be the first Jewish president (one reason why Trump is so hung up on Kushner getting involved in the Mideast peace talks—he has said he thinks Kushner can do it…simply because he’s Jewish, mind you and it doesn’t matter that he’s not an experienced Joe Lieberman or Bernie Sanders). I think he thinks this is how the Dems will lose the Jewish vote (Kushner may still be a Dem now but will switch parties). And Ivanka will be the formal First Lady. I think that competitive Trump thinks that the Trumps are going to show the Bushes and Trumps what a dynasty really is.

It's also pathetic that his supporters are trying to say that the mocking of the reporter was just like many imitations he's done. Not so.

Every now and then he does wave his hand for a second and change his voice to sound dumb, as he sees it, dumb. More often, he takes on this ridiculous can't-decide-if-it's-British-or hoity-east-coast voice to mock the press that starts with the words "Donald J. Trump...." He looks like such a fool. Anyway, these claims that he has done the same thing that he did to the reporter are bull.

His defenders are saying that he mocked a general the same way in the same speech. He mocked the general later in that speech and he barely used the same technique--he was probably aware that he'd be criticized for what he'd said about the reporter, but even if not, there was just no real comparison. His defenders say he mocked Cruz in the same way as the reporter. This is the one instance that comes anywhere close. But that mocking was done in February of 2016. He had mocked the reporter in November of 2015. By this point, Trump was enjoying mocking everyone and, I believe, a part of him was giving what he considered to be equal treatment so that people would get off his case about the reporter. His defenders even claim that he has mocked himself in the same way and they point to a 2005 Larry King interview as proof. He barely does anything to make light of things in that clip.

Think of all the times you've said a "Duh" to someone and changed your voice to sound dumb and at times you've drawn out the syllable for additional emphasis. That's basically what the difference is between the Trump imitations. The mocking of the reporter is way beyond those. And he knew the guy was disabled, so why choose to mock him that way? Trump would say, well, I'm an equal opportunity mocker. No. You just don't do that. They talked about this on the View today and I was glad Behar made that point. Even if it were true that Trump has mocked people in the same way, you don't use it to mock a disabled person.

Someone there had a picture of Cruz, Rubio and another senator who have a bill that will cut embassy protection by 50% if the US doesn't move its embassy to Jerusalem. This is all part of some Israelis' plan on making Jerusalem Israel's capital. As the Twitter poster pointed out, the GOP went on and on about security at Bhengazi, yet they are threatening to take away half of every embassy's security. That is so fucking lame.

One of the problems in Benghazi and elsewhere was that the GOP had already cut funding embassy/consulate security. Republicans are anti-American, one and all.

The NYT's interviewer's full story says that Trump "grew heated" during their phone call. And I love this part at the end, which comes after Trump had dismissed Hollywood and celebs:

Mr. Trump said that, Ms. Streep and her allies aside, he was confident that celebrities and others would turn out in strong numbers for his inauguration.

“We are going to have an unbelievable, perhaps record-setting turnout for the inauguration, and there will be plenty of movie and entertainment stars,” Mr. Trump said. “All the dress shops are sold out in Washington. It’s hard to find a great dress for this inauguration.”

The Washington Post followed up on the claims of a dress shortage. NOT TRUE. all stores called have plenty of dresses available. He always just says what he wants -- no preparation or fact checking before he says it -- and then says, YES IT IS TRUE when called on it. OMG he is so annoying.

I didn't know that the Nazi's wore dresses, I thought they were into brown shirts and boots.

I can't believe this clown is going to be running the country.

Even if only two people show up, he will say there were thousands.

Has anyone else come to the conclusion that the Cheeto Benito Mussolini is mentally unbalanced and is disqualified to be the Head Of State here in America due to his mental illness? How else do you account for his middle of the night tweets and his lies when there's video of him saying what he denies?
When are the Republicans going to admit that they failed to pick an even qualified person to head their party?

I came to that conclusion the first time I saw a commercial for his silly show years ago. He has done nothing since to change my opinion.

I came to that conclusion about a year ago, before hand I could have cared less because it was only a tv program.

      He is a narcissistic, sociopath.
