There are almost 400 protest marches planned for the day after Trump's inauguration, with almost 200,000 participants.

Courtesy of HuffPo:

Some 194,000 people have indicated on Facebook they plan to attend the Women’s March on Washington, scheduled for Saturday, the day after President-elect Donald Trump’s inauguration. And 1,200 tour buses have applied for permits to park at RFK stadium that day ― six times the number that have applied for spots on the day of Trump’s swearing in.

But march spokespeople say it would be a mistake to overlook the 370 smaller “sister marches” that have been planned in every state and on six continents that weekend ― and that are expected at last count to draw nearly 700,000 people.

“This is a global movement,” national sister march spokeswoman Yordanos Eyoel told The Huffington Post.

“This is something that was catalyzed by the organizers of the March on Washington, but it is a call to action to people across this country and around the world who believe in the same mission and principles,” she said.

There is a website that keeps track of where the marches are, when they start, and the number of participants.

In Alaska for instance there are marches planned in Anchorage, Fairbanks, Homer, Palmer, Bethel, Kodiak, Juneau, Ketchikan, Haines, Valdez, Kodiak, etc.

There are also marches planned in Canada, Belgium, Australia, Austria, Costa Rica, Denmark, Finland, France, German, etc..

Well you have to admit one thin, Donald Trump has certainly brought people from all over the world together.

Mostly women it seems, and definitely against him.

From PBS: She was a hockey mom with maverick ambitions, who didn't look or sound like a politician. Sarah Palin's electrifying straight-talk in the 2008 presidential election made her a hero to a group of rebellious conservatives – and a joke on SNL. Did the popularity of Palin's anti-elite message pave the way for Trump's rhetoric and its reception? Here's a sneak peek of "Divided States of America," coming to FRONTLINE on January 17 and 18. http://to.pbs.org/2jCNUfb

One of the other ways to squelch His Heinous Highness (#hisheinoushighness) is to turn on your t.v. on Inauguration Day, but to put it on, say, the H&G channel, or a cooking show, or golf. That way out of 7 million t.v.'s turned on, only a very small percentage of viewership will be awarded to the Inauguration. If we leave our t.v.'s off, the percentages of Inaug. Viewers will swell. So, do your part! Watch anything but the Inauguration, and leave the t.v. on, on another channel, even if you go out to play in the sunshine that day. Can you imagine his reaction if he only pulls 18% of that day's viewers! It would be AWESOME!

Bombshell CBO Reports Finds 18 Million To Lose Health Care In Year 1 Of Obamacare Repeal

A new report from the non-partisan Congressional Budget Office blew apart the Republican falsehoods on Obamacare repeal by finding that 18 million people will lose their health insurance in the first year of repeal, and health insurance premiums will double for those who still have insurance.

A new report from the non-partisan Congressional Budget Office blew apart the Republican falsehoods on Obamacare repeal by finding that 18 million people will lose their health insurance in the first year of repeal, and health insurance premiums will double for those who still have insurance.

The CBO report contained two big findings that were devastating to the pro-repeal argument:

    – The number of people who are uninsured would increase by 18 million in the first new plan year following enactment of the bill. Later, after the elimination of the ACA’s expansion of Medicaid eligibility and of subsidies for insurance purchased through the ACA marketplaces, that number would increase to 27 million, and then to 32 million in 2026.

    – Premiums in the nongroup market (for individual policies purchased through the marketplaces or directly from insurers) would increase by 20 percent to 25 percent—relative to projections under current law—in the first new plan year following enactment. The increase would reach about 50 percent in the year following the elimination of the Medicaid expansion and the marketplace subsidies, and premiums would about double by 2026.

The report found that ten million people who get their coverage through the exchanges will lose their insurance in the first year. Five million people who are covered by the Medicaid expansion and three million people who have private insurance through their employer will also lose their coverage.

It turns out that everything Republicans have been saying about how no one will be harmed by ACA repeal is a lie. Tens of millions of people going to be immediately harmed. The Republican replacement ideas will leave millions of people without coverage, and those who have coverage will pay higher premiums and get less insurance.

Donald Trump cannot accept the reality of his unpopularity any more than he can accept that he lost the election by 3 million votes, or that all votes taken into account, more people voted against him than for him.

Richard Cohen suggested at The Washington Post that the ancient Greeks knew “A man’s character is his fate,” and that “In that case, Trump’s presidency is doomed” from the outset. Those same character defects tell Trump he is the most popular guy on the planet.

The man who is half as popular as Barack Obama was in 2009 is in a class-by-itself complete denial of reality.

Obama To Leave Office With The Highest Favorable Rating Of Any President Since 1993

President Obama is set to leave office with the highest favorability rating of any president in 24 years.

According to Gallup, “The president will leave office with a much higher favorable rating than did his immediate predecessor, George W. Bush (40%). Bill Clinton’s rating (57%) was similar to Obama’s, while George H.W. Bush left office in January 1993 with a slightly higher 62% favorable rating. Gallup began measuring presidential favorability using the favorable/unfavorable question format in 1992.”

Obama’s favorability rating is eighteen points higher than his successor, Donald Trump (40%). The popularity of the Obama administration goes beyond the President. Joe Biden has a 61% favorable rating, which is 19 points higher than Mike Pence (42%). First Lady Michelle Obama is easily the most popular political figure in the country with a 68% approval rating. Melania Trump’s favorable rating is 37%.

Vladimir Putin Just Defended Trump In The WORST Way Possible (VIDEO)

According to Russian dictator Vladimir Putin, it’s silly to worry about little things like whether or not a couple of Russian ladies peed on Donald Trump’s bed because it’s much, much worse to publish memos that reveal these allegations.

Putin says that there is a conspiracy to “delegitimize” the man and his team of hackers, fake news writers, and trolls he worked hard to install in the Oval Office by hacking Trump’s political opponents and running an aggressive propaganda campaign.

“I don’t know Mr. Trump, I have never met him, I don’t know what he will do in the international arena, so I have no reason either to attack him, criticize him or defend him,” Putin said at a press conference. “Donald Trump has been with the most beautiful women in the world, so why would he need prostitutes in Moscow?”

To answer that question, we need only look to a 2001 edition of the Howard Stern Show in which Trump was reminded that he bragged that he likes to go to Russia to have sex with women because they “have no morals.”

Putin says that Russian security services “do not chase every US billionaire,” and that the release of the documents was “worse than prostitutes.”

So, we now know his approval ratings are down, lower than other recent presidents when they took office. And, yet, this man is yelling again -- says they are "rigged" not true. He thinks he has good approval ratings because some people cheer him. He is blind to all that don't cheer him. Can't help wondering if his people are keeping all the negatives from him? If not, how can he reconcile all the protests coming on "his" weekend, with what he thinks are positive ratings?

Can he not see that the ratings are true, and represent the FACT that while some love him, many do not. A wise man would see that and wonder what he could do to improve those ratings? But, we are not dealing with a wise man here.

WATCH: Trump Doesn’t Want Us To Remember What He Said About Russia In 2014

As time goes on, it becomes ever clearer that Trump is Russia’s puppet. There’s every possibility he owes them money, and he’s repeatedly blasted our intelligence community for daring to say that Russia did, indeed, engage in a concerted campaign to influence our election in Trump’s favor. But did he always feel this way? Was he always Russia’s puppet?

It seems not, and it’s by his own words that we know this. As recently as 2014, he said, in a series of interviews, that Mitt Romney was right to say that Russia was our greatest geopolitical foe:

See the celebrities lending star power to the Women’s March on Washington

Celebrities representing Hollywood and the recording industry are expected to descend on the nation's capital in force for the Women's March on Washington, the demonstration designed to send a message to lawmakers and to President-elect Donald Trump on his first full day in office.

Scarlett Johansson, Julianne Moore, Katy Perry, Amy Schumer and Patricia Arquette are among those who have signed on to play a role in the Jan. 21 march, which organizer say could bring more than 100,000 people to Washington D.C.

Satellite demonstrations have been planned for all 50 states the same day, the national organizers said. New Jersey's event is scheduled to begin at the Trenton War Memorial and conclude at the Statehouse.

The addition of Hollywood A-listers and platinum-selling recording artists lends some buzz to a movement that began as a grassroots effort sparked by the Facebook post of a grandmother in Hawaii.

The election of 2016 may well have been stolen-or to use Donald Trump's oft-repeated phrase-"rigged," and nobody in the media seems willing to discuss it.

The rigging was a pretty simple process, in fact: in 27 Republican-controlled states (including critical swing states) hundreds of thousands (possibly millions) of people showed up to vote, but were mysteriously blocked from voting for allegedly being registered with the intent to vote in multiple states.

Greg Palast, an award-winning investigative journalist, writes a stinging piece in the highly respected Rolling Stone magazine (August 2016 edition), predicting that the November 8, 2016 presidential election had already been decided: "The GOP's Stealth War Against Voters." He also wrote and produced a brilliant documentary on this exact subject that was released well before the election, titled The Best Democracy Money Can Buy.

He said a program called the Interstate Voter Registration Crosscheck had been quietly put together in Kansas and was being used by Republican secretaries of state in 27 states to suppress and purge African American, Asian and Hispanic votes in what would almost certainly be the swing states of the 2016 election.

Crosscheck was started by Kansas Secretary of State Kris Kobach back in 2007 under the guise of combating so-called voter fraud. In the ultimate thumb in the eye to the American voter, the state where Crosscheck started was the only state to refuse to participate in a New York Times review of voter fraud in the 2016 election, which found that, basically, there wasn't any fraud at the level of individual voters. Turns out, according to Palast, that a total of 7 million voters-including up to 344,000 in Pennsylvania, 589,000 in North Carolina and up to 449,000 in Michigan (based on available Crosscheck data from 2014)-may have been denied the right to have their votes counted under this little known but enormously potent Crosscheck program.

Husband and I will make the 6 hour drive to DC on Friday so we can march on Saturday. Spending making a couple of signs and sewing as many pink pussy hats as I can get out of 2 Goodwill pink sweaters. We have 2 riders with us from FB page. Will cost us $400+ for 2 nights lodging. Plus Metro fares, gas, etc. Money well spent IMO. I'm really hoping to be invigorated renewed by participating in the march. I've been depressed since the election.

Good for you! $400+ for two nights seems pretty cheap for an inauguration, yet HE claims they are filled to capacity. LOL

It was hard to find a place close to downtown, but we found an airbnb out by a Metro line. My keyboard has been jumping around. I meant to say I'm planning on spending Thursday making signs and pussy hats. I'm excited to do this and to see the mass of women (and some feminist men) who will be there.

Bombshell federal report reveals 5 reasons the GOP’s Obamacare repeal bill would be a disaster

Below, we’ll go through the CBO’s five biggest reasons the GOP’s repeal plan is a disaster for American health care.

18 million Americans would lose their insurance in the span of a year. Under the bill passed by Republicans — which would keep insurance market reforms in place but would gut both the Medicaid expansion and subsidies for people to buy private insurance — an estimated 18 million people would lose their health insurance within just one year.
An additional 9 million would lose their insurance shortly after the first year of repeal. Once the elimination of both subsidies and expanded Medicaid happen, the number of people who lose their insurance thanks to the legislation will total 27 million. Over the long run, the CBO projects that the number of uninsured in the U.S. would increase by 32 million by 2026 over what it would have been without repealing the ACA.
Premiums on the individual market would skyrocket by 20% to 25% relative to where they’d be without repeal within a year. In part because the GOP plan still bars insurers from discriminating against people with preexisting conditions, insurance premiums on the individual market would increase by as much as 25% within a year of Obamacare repeal, as insurers would scramble to raise prices to cover the costs of insuring more sick people.
Premiums would then go up by 50% after the GOP eliminates the Medicaid expansion and private insurance subsidies. Once people who buy insurance individually lose access to subsidies to help them offset the costs, insurers will raise prices even higher — in fact, the CBO estimates that “premiums would about double by 2026” under the GOP’s bill.
Half the country would be stuck in an area where no insurers would offer them non-group coverage. As if the projected price increases for individual market buyers weren’t bad enough, the CBO also says that many insurers will simply pull out of individual markets in many places, as “about half of the nation’s population lives in areas that would have no insurer participating in the nongroup market in the first year after the repeal of the marketplace subsidies took place.”

In another hilarious twist, these betting websites offer less “run of the mill” betting options related to the president-elect as well.

Some of the things you can wager on include:

What country will Donald Trump visit first
The chances of video evidence from Trump’s alleged “golden shower” experience in Russia surfacing on RedTube
What will Trump say first in his inauguration speech
Will he paint the entire White House gold
Will he split from Melania in 2017
Trump to NOT be inaugurated January 20th
Will he visit Russia before the end of 2017
Whether or not he’ll be re-elected in 2020

What is really great about that list is that the odds never demonstrate faith in Trump’s ability to avoid scandal nor do they instill that he is viewed as a particularly stable or competent individual.

In any case, it seems that impeachment and election betting is the place to be in 2016 and 2017, with record-high numbers. According to Betfair (one U.K. betting site), the 2016 election brought in record high bets, with some estimates around $130 million.

  37. Snopes says leaving TV on anything but inauguration will not affect ratings.
    MOSTLY FALSE
ORIGIN:A "call-to-action" message that urged television viewers to watch anything other than Donald Trump's inauguration on 20 January 2017 in an attempt to lower the event's TV ratings (and thus strike a blow to the President-elect's ego) was widely circulated on Facebook:

    https://gma.yahoo.com/trump-remains-unpopular-presidency-hand-poll-122025670--abc-news-topstories.html

But of course Trump believes these approval polls are fake and rigged and he's YUUUUUGELY popular.

Even pro-Trump celebrities are avoiding the inauguration.

Yeah. Scalpers are taking a hit on his inauguration tickets.

I was in DC for the '08 inauguration. A total mob scene....and the mood was absolutely jubilant. The DC area is an interesting mix: lots of minorities, lots of well-educated folks of all ethnic backgrounds. It was like a dark cloud lifted and the sun was shining again after 8 long years. I will not set foot in DC on Friday but I sure as hell will be there Saturday. I'll let you know how it goes.

644p here, reporting in. I was around Capitol Hill today. Small numbers of idjits in town, easy to spot with their made-in-China hats and snippets of conversation like, you can git all kids of food and shit down thatta way. But mostly it was bleak and empty; funereal. Mild weather and most museums open, and the city more empty than I've ever seen it.
I did hear that there was an hour-long line waiting to get into the pop-up Women's March store. I wouldn't set foot in DC tomorrow, but Saturday is going to be interesting.
