Alec Baldwin returns to SNL this weekend and promises it will be a "big deal."

Courtesy of Vulture:

What nuggets of comedic gold will Alec Baldwin’s hosting stint on Saturday Night Live bring us this weekend? Who knows? Maybe he doesn’t even know. (Nah. Of course he does. And maybe Melissa McCarthy and Rosie O’Donnell know, too?) But as he puts it ever so dramatically in the cinematic teaser for the episode: “The pull of fate is undeniable.” Strap on your seat belts, everybody. We have a feeling this is going to be … yuge.

Like I said before currently SNL is "must see TV" in my home so I am certainly going to be watching this Saturday.

And since this bit from Melissa McCarthy last weekend almost cost Sean Spicer his job, it is now going to be entertaining to see what SNL does next to rattle Trump's cage.

Personally I would LOVE to see an appearance by Rosie O'Donnell as Stephen Bannon, but we shall see.

Yes, we shall see.

Look at Rosie O'Donnell! An exact replica of Bannon! Amazing how they can duplicate Trump and those in his cabinet!

Watching SNL every Saturday night is in my future again. I'll be front and center in front of my TV tomorrow night!

Could more than one Emmy award be in the future of some of the stars we are currently seeing on SNL? I think so!

Trump vexed by challenges, scale of government

The new president’s allies say he has been surprised that government can’t be run like his business.

Being president is harder than Donald Trump thought, according to aides and allies who say that he’s growing increasingly frustrated with the challenges of running the massive federal bureaucracy.

In interviews, nearly two dozen people who’ve spent time with Trump in the three weeks since his inauguration said that his mood has careened between surprise and anger as he’s faced the predictable realities of governing, from congressional delays over his cabinet nominations and legal fights holding up his aggressive initiatives to staff in-fighting and leaks.

The administration’s rocky opening days have been a setback for a president who, as a billionaire businessman, sold himself to voters as being uniquely qualified to fix what ailed the nation. Yet it has become apparent, say those close to the president, most of whom requested anonymity to describe the inner workings of the White House, that the transition from overseeing a family business to running the country has been tough on him.

Trump often asks simple questions about policies, proposals and personnel. And, when discussions get bogged down in details, the president has been known to quickly change the subject — to "seem in control at all times," one senior government official said — or direct questions about details to his chief strategist Steve Bannon, his son-in-law Jared Kushner or House Speaker Paul Ryan. Trump has privately expressed disbelief over the ability of judges, bureaucrats or lawmakers to delay — or even stop — him from filling positions and implementing policies.

After Trump grew infuriated by disclosures of his confrontational phone calls with foreign leaders, an investigation was launched into the source of the leaks, according to one White House aide. National Security Council staffers have been instructed to cooperate with inquiries, including requests to inspect their electronic communications, said two sources familiar with the situation. It’s not clear whether the investigation is a formal proceeding, how far along it is or who is conducting it.

The administration is considering limiting the universe of aides with access to the calls or their transcripts, said one administration official, adding that the leaks — and Trump’s anger over them — had created a climate where people are “very careful who they talk to.”

The president and his allies believe career NSC staff assigned from other agencies are out to get them. In turn, some NSC staff believe Trump does not possess the capacity for detail and nuance required to handle the sensitive issues discussed on the calls, and that he has politicized their agency by appointing chief strategist Bannon to the council.

Last week, Trump told an associate he had become weary of in-fighting among — and leaks from — his White House staff “because it reflects on me,” and that he intended to sit down staffers to tell them “to cut this shit out.”

Trump’s Presidency Is Officially A Dumpster Fire As Voters Trust SNL More Than Trump

A new Public Policy Polling poll revealed that American voters have so little trust Trump that they find Saturday Night Live to be more credible than the President.

In practical political terms, a president who lacks credibility has lost the American people. Credibility and trust go hand in hand, and an untrusted president has a very good chance of only being a one term president.

...Trump is being held to the presidential standard, and he is failing so badly that an Alec Baldwin impression and Weekend Update have been deemed more credible by the American people than the current administration.

Only 29% of Americans think Trump is respected in the world
      Sad!

Respect is a big deal to Donald Trump, who likes to cut a macho figure in the public arena and who frequently criticized his predecessor in office for failing to be respected by foreign leaders. The American public, however, believes that it’s Trump himself who doesn’t inspire respect. Indeed, a new Gallup poll shows that by a stunning 29-67 margin, Americans think foreign leaders don’t have much respect for Trump.

That’s dramatically worse than Americans’ assessment of the state of American leadership under either Barack Obama or George W. Bush......

REPORT: NINE Officials Reveal Trump Admin LIED About Talking To Russia About Easing Sanctions

...The administration’s position was to deny, deny, deny, because of course. But Flynn isn’t exactly denying it anymore. This may have something to do with Congress seeking to limit Trump’s ability to ease the sanctions. It may have anything to do with anything – maybe he just feels backed into a corner now.

The point is, of all the lies coming out of this administration, this is one of the biggest and the worst thus far. Oddly enough, both Flynn and his son seem to have deleted their Twitter accounts. That could be for any reason, but it’s just a little too coincidental to the Post’s report.

    http://addictinginfo.org/2017/02/10/report-nine-officials-reveal-trump-admin-lied-about-talking-to-russia-about-easing-sanctions/

Donald Trump’s controversial National Security Advisor Michael Flynn did indeed discuss United States sanctions against Russia with a Russian official weeks before Trump took office, putting him in violation of the Logan Act, and catching both Flynn and vice president Mike Pence in a damaging lie they both told. Flynn is now tacitly acknowledging it, knocking down what could be the first domino in the Trump-Russia scandal which may now take down the entire Trump administration.

BREAKING: House Democrat Moves On Impeachment For Trump (DETAILS)

    http://addictinginfo.org/2017/02/10/breaking-house-democrat-moves-on-impeachment-for-trump-details/

ALERT: Republicans Push Bill To Split Ninth Circuit Court In Response To Ruling Against Trump

Republicans are now gunning for the Ninth Circuit Court in an effort to kill courts that don’t have a strictly conservative viewpoint.

Not long after the Ninth Circuit Court ruled against reinstating Donald Trump’s executive order banning travel into the United States from seven countries, Republicans made a bill written by GOP Senators Jeff Flake and John McCain a top priority.

Conservatives have long despised the Ninth Circuit, which is based in San Francisco, for issuing rulings they don’t like.

If the bill were to pass, the Ninth Circuit Court would be split in two and a 12th Circuit Court would be created. The Ninth would continue to have jurisdiction over California, Oregon, Hawaii, Guam and the Northern Mariana Islands while the 12th would have jurisdiction over Republican-controlled states like Arizona, Idaho, Montana, and Alaska with Washington and Nevada thrown in.

Basically, Republicans are trying to rig the judicial branch in their favor.

Alec Baldwin confesses playing Trump on SNL is ‘strange’: ‘What is even more strange is this is real’

...In an exclusive interview with his wife, Hilaria Baldwin for Extra, Alec Baldwin responded to a critique from White House press secretary Sean Spicer that Baldwin’s impression of President Donald Trump is “mean.” Spicer was referencing Baldwin’s most recent impression of the president in a segment where he called world leaders.

“What is he supposed to say?” Baldwin said. “All those guys are working for Trump; they work for the president, and they are going to say what they need to say to fit in… That’s symbolic of where we’re at — we repeat back everything that Trump says.”

Baldwin confessed to his wife during the behind the scenes interview at SNL that he enjoys being part of playing Trump, but, “playing him is not a lot of fun. He’s tense, he’s angry, he’s pissed off, and that’s not fun to play.”

Fewer than three in 10 Americans (29%) say leaders of other countries have respect for the new president, with 67% saying world leaders do not have much respect for him. ============================

Bombshell Report Suggests Trump's National Security Adviser Is Dishonest and a Threat to US Policy

He also may not be very bright.

.....Yet now one piece of the Trump-Russia puzzle has been clearly depicted: Trump's national security adviser was in cahoots with Russia to undermine the US government's effort to punish Moscow for hacking the US election—and he apparently lied about it. If Trump does not fire him—and if Washington's political-media complex (including Republicans) does not go ballistic over this revelation—then the Putinization of America has taken another big step forward.

On Thursday night, after a long and wild day of Trump news (Trump attacking Sen. John McCain, Kellyanne Conway seemingly breaking the law, an appeals court ruling against Trump's Muslim travel ban, and much more), the Washington Post dropped a bomb: a thoroughly reported article with the headline "National security adviser Flynn discussed sanctions with Russian ambassador, despite denials, officials say." It began:.....

.....This is a scandal. A real scandal. A big scandal. Republicans and Democrats should be screaming for investigations and public hearings. (Yesterday, House Democrats did resort to a little-used legislative tool to force a debate on both Trump's conflicts of interest and the possible ties between his inner circle and Russia.) And Flynn should be booted. The evidence is strong that he lied and that he cozied up to Moscow while it was assaulting American democracy. Worse, for a supposed national security maven, he acted in a stupid manner and practiced awful tradecraft. Placing the nation's security in his hands of a dishonest and reckless fellow is risky business.

The Trump-Russia story has faded in recent days, in the midst of other Trump chaos. But if this Flynn news does not cause a firestorm—and threaten Flynn's position—then something is very rotten in the nation's capital.

A group of Republican senators released a stern letter to President Donald Trump on Thursday calling for a "tough-minded and principled policy" toward Russia and urging that Trump "should maintain the current US sanctions regime" until Russian policy in Ukraine and Syria is changed.
The group also raised the controversial Russian hacking activities during the 2016 election.
"We must recognize and counter the active cyber and information warfare Russia is conducting, including attempted interference in our democratic elections process (with a) firm response," the letter said.

They further warned that the US "should not enter into any military or diplomatic agreement with Russia regarding Syria's future" until the Russian military ceases human rights abuses.
The group of seven Republican senators featured Sen. Cory Gardner of Colorado, Sen. Jim Inhofe of Oklahoma, Sen. Todd Young of Indiana, Sen. Rob Portman of Ohio, Sen. Mike Rounds of South Dakota, Sen. Joni Ernst Iowa, Sen. Lindsey Graham of South Carolina and Sen. John Cornyn of Texas, a senior member of the GOP senate leadership.
Gardner told CNN's "New Day" on Thursday: "It's important that we highlight the beliefs of many senators, our colleagues, across the national security committees -- that we do have certain lines that cannot be crossed when it comes to Russia."

Elizabeth Warren breaks down the biggest Trump scandal you haven’t heard about

.... “What Donald Trump wants to do is fire one of the most important financial cops and then say to the American people, you keep walking down this dark alley and, you know, what happens is what happens,” Warren revealed.

The cop in question is Consumer Financial Protection Bureau director Richard Cordray. Cordray’s term ends in July 2018, but Rep. Jeb Hensarling (R-Texas), Chairman of the House Financial Services Committee, is encouraging Trump to “immediately fire” the director.

“The Consumer Financial Protection Bureau, which didn’t even exist before the financial crisis [prevents Americans from being] cheated on mortgages and credit cards and] the things that ultimately blew up our economy,” Warren explained.....

I'de like to see him using his tiny fingers to twitter, then reading the replies; followed by curling up in bannon's lap sucking his thumb. I can't believe that many people are kinder than I in reply to his INSANITY.

What do they mean WILL is send him over the edge, he already is
    =========================================

Will the White House Send Donald Trump Over the Edge Into Madness?

Andrew Sullivan returns to semi-regular writing about politics today. His first topic is Donald Trump's apparently uncontrollable lying, and what it means about his mental stability:

I know we’re not supposed to bring this up — but it is staring us brutally in the face. I keep asking myself this simple question: If you came across someone in your everyday life who repeatedly said fantastically and demonstrably untrue things, what would you think of him? If you showed up at a neighbor’s, say, and your host showed you his newly painted living room, which was a deep blue, and then insisted repeatedly — manically — that it was a lovely shade of scarlet, what would your reaction be? If he then dragged out a member of his family and insisted she repeat this obvious untruth in front of you, how would you respond?

If the next time you dropped by, he was still raving about his gorgeous new red walls, what would you think? Here’s what I’d think: This man is off his rocker. He’s deranged; he’s bizarrely living in an alternative universe; he’s delusional. If he kept this up, at some point you’d excuse yourself and edge slowly out of the room and the house and never return. You’d warn your other neighbors. You’d keep your distance. If you saw him, you’d be polite but keep your distance.

I think this is a fundamental reason why so many of us have been so unsettled, anxious, and near panic these past few months. It is not so much this president’s agenda. That always changes from administration to administration. It is that when the lynchpin of an entire country is literally delusional, clinically deceptive, and responds to any attempt to correct the record with rage and vengeance, everyone is always on edge.

That is what I think as well. Listening to the lot of them in the white house. They remind me of those homeless mentally ill persons. Yes, I always walk on the other side of the street.

God awful. They really are like trailer trash!!!

Look at those files on dump's desk. He doesn't read. So, essentially someone could put crap infront of him to sign. Which is what happened on his stupid ban.
Horror of horrors in the whitehouse.

Trump is so whacked that he's again calling the NYT fake news for saying that Trump hadn't talked to China's Xi since November. The NYT had put out an article already re Trump telling them last night about a call he had with Xi yesterday. He is totally nuts!

Rosie looks far too clean in that photo. Gannon always looks like he hasn't showered, shaved or changed his clothes for at least a week. I wouldn't want to be anywhere near him! Imagine that creep in the pristinely beautiful White House!

I heard on MSNBC (Greta Van Sustern's show, which was only on because I'd already had MSNBC on while doing dishes) a little while ago something--vague right now--about a 9th Circuit judge asking that the entire 9th look at the ban. If anyone gets details, please post them!

  37. Would Ellen DeGeneres do Mike Pence?

We need all of the Trump white males portrayed by women. Spicer, Bannon, Pence, Priebus.

Then we need some men to do Kellyanus, Ivanka and Melania.

Kate needs to continue with her DeVos. Plenty of meat for her this week.
