Book deal dead, CPAC speaking slot rescinded, and now ejected from Breitbart. The terrible, horrible, no good, very bad week of Milo Yiannopoulos.

Courtesy of CNN:

The professional provocateur has resigned as an editor at Breitbart News amid a firestorm over unearthed comments in which he seemed to endorse sex between "younger boys and older men."

Yiannopoulos released a statement on Tuesday afternoon, minutes before he was scheduled to give a press conference in Manhattan.

"It would be wrong to allow my poor choice of words to detract from my colleagues' important reporting, so today I am resigning from Breitbart, effectively immediately. This decision is mine alone," Yiannopoulos said in a statement.

While Yiannopoulos has made a living off of deliberately offensive statements, his comments on two recently discovered video clips proved too much, even for his friends and colleagues at Breitbart.

Jesus literally just 48 hours ago this guy was considered a conservative rising star.

And now he is essentially radioactive.

Gee, I guess promoting the idea that gays are pedophiles and that their sexual assault could work to help children "discover who they are" simply proved a bridge too far for the conservatives.

Remember it wasn't the antisemitic, anti-women, or racist comments that got Yiannopoulos in hot water.

Those apparently were just fine with the conservative folks, and even helped him to win a slot at CPAC this year.

Joan Walsh of "The Nation" recognizes that those disgusting comments were not only what made Yiannopoulos a star, but it is not the first time that kind of talk has done so:

But the question everyone should be asking is, how did a low-rent scam-artist like Yiannopoulos rise to the top of conservative politics, anyway? Even some conservatives are mystified. Reagan biographer Craig Shirley was aghast. “This is the first time I can recall a spoiled man child whose main purpose is self-promotion being selected as…[a] speaker at CPAC,” Shirley told The Daily Beast’s Matt Lewis.

Shirley’s memory is a little short. CPAC helped mainstream another “spoiled man child whose main purpose is self-promotion” just four years ago when the group invited Trump to speak at its conference. Yiannopoulos’s political trajectory tracks that of the man he calls “Daddy.” His fall shows that the craven opportunism of the modern conservative movement has at least one limit: pedophilia. Of course, both men should have been stopped long ago.

The rise of Yiannopolous is evidence that modern conservatism is mostly driven by fear, backlash, scapegoating, and whiny complaints about “political correctness,” which essentially comes down to white men complaining they can’t insult women and people of color without censure anymore. That’s the heart of Trump’s appeal, too.

Yep, there is a reason that Yiannopoulos calls Donald Trump "Daddy."

They share a similar pig-like DNA.

Trump was able to talk about "grabbing pussies," and walking in on young girls changing their clothes, and still get elected president. And one would think that in an environment like this conservatives should be able to get away with saying just about ANYTHING.

Unfortunately for Yiannopolulos he forgot the old adage, "Never get caught with a dead girl or a live boy." (Yes I know that in this case the idiot was not actually caught with a live boy, but from his words it sounds like there were a lot of time he could have been.)

By the way don't think is the last we will see of this pathetic little troll.

Personally I hope the media stays on this, because I would REALLY like to know who would fund something like this.

"Ma... what did he say?... crickets about him on BB now! Publisher pulled his book. No CPAC... Is the left aware that in a lot of the ME countries, sex with boys by men, is the norm... and, they (the left) don't seem to mention it... I'm confused. Surely Milo was not promoting underage non-consensual sex??? Just wondering"

So, thegedster is excusing raping teen boys, because some cultures condone it? Does he condone the treatment of girls and women that are acceptable in some middle eastern cultures? Or, does he only defend boy-rape, and if so, why?
At least mark1955 is no longer the most disgusting pile of shit on c4p now!
C4p is mamcgriz's site now. She (?) dominates it, posts constantly, responds to too many comments and moderates it to her view point. Should rename it mmg4trump

If this were about a hetero man having sex with a 13-year-old girl, it'd not have gotten the same reaction. In fact, 13 would not seem all that young to some people--12 and 13 are acceptable to them. Many people would have accepted it or just barely spoken against it. And such girls, down to 12, who would end up pregnant or for whatever reason get their parents' or a court's consent, would be legally tied to the much older man. It happens. So many states don't even have a real minimum age for consent, and in those cases the accepted age is 12.

No, 3:42, I am not mentally ill. You read my post as condoning, not criticizing. I guess I needed to start out my post using the word "Unfortunately" so that you would get it. The fact is that there are exceptions to the age of consent requirement and parents and courts, especially in red states, push girls of puberty age into marriages with adult males. Yes, many of us complain, but there are many who don't--and definitely at least not like they do when, because it's an adult male and a boy, suddenly that thirteen-year-old is considered a real child. Unlike the girl. Both the boy and girl are victims.

      Apology accepted.

    4. Anonymous4:54 PM

I am not 3:42, but I read it as he/she did. It is your responsibility to clearly state your thoughts, not the readers responsibility to interpret your words. You were at fault and you should be apologizing first for failing to be clear and expecting the reader to be clairvoyance and secondly, for being snotty in your response, when you even admit you should have made your point better. Now, apologize!

      Delete
    5. Anonymous5:31 PM

      No, I will not apologize.

As I said, I guess I could have used the word "Unfortunately," but since when do pro-pedophilia people post on here? And while Gryphen allows a lot to be said on IM, he does draw the line, and I don’t see him as allowing my post here if he thought I was defending pedophilia. Especially given what a protector of and defender of kids he is. And if people read with any care, things I said: the "acceptable to” a “them” and the words “just barely spoken against it” and “down to 12” and “legally tied to” and “So many states don’t have a real minimum age for consent” all should have sounded much more like I was against children being in relationships with adults than the other way around. But I was instead attacked and called mentally ill by someone who couldn’t bother being a closer reader before posting what s/he did.

No, let me apologize. I realize now that you need a picture book with pages that read something like: "See Milo with the boy. Milo likes the boy. Some people don't like Milo with the boy. But if Milo liked a girl, they would like that. They would say Milo should marry the girl, and everything would be okay."

Nope, not wordy at all. Calling me wordy or not clear or not concise is off-target. My posts have been neither. But I understand the choice to grab at something so as to have the last word. I'm not the one who needed to call it a night. You could have moved on to focus on adding something of value to IM tonight, but you couldn't let the person who was defending herself have the last word. How Palinesque.

Yeah, agreed. They will pretty much accept anything if it's done by a GOP. And they are so desperate for those connections they have that involve non-traditional aspects of the GOP. They complain about Hollywood but really hype every actor who is GOP. And when a GOP is young and seems hip and part of an "in" crowd, they so badly want that facet of their party. If someone's gay and GOP, that's like hitting the jackpot (as long as no one really has to look at the "it" of the gayness). Megan McCain is one of those young people the GOP and Fox love as an example of their young up-and-coming people in the political world, but she's still never been really what you'd call cool and really out of the box, like Milo.

Sometimes it goes just an inch too far for "conservatives" to stomach. Just like Garrison on South Park running for POTUS as a Trump-like candidate speaking to a crowd and referencing going a little too far sexually and mistaking anal for vaginal and all the women leave the room.

The context was basically that he's denigrated blacks, muslims, jews and women but his sexually charged joke goes a little too far?

Kind of like Milo; I guess they drew the line at possible pedophilia?

I hav been following me his story since protests at UC Davis story broke. I believe YM is now under FBI investigation, as similar events surrounding his appearances go back to GamerGate. I sincerely hope, and now suspect he is under investigation by FBI. I have questioned link between him and College Republicans for a while. These are KIDS. Who mentors this group and would even suggest he is an appropriate speaker? Leads me to believe: 1) these kids are being manipulated and exploited; 2) CPAC, who cancelled his speaking appearance is the group mentoring these kids.
