Chuck Todd refers to Donald Trump's "lame duck presidency." Trump fires up the Twitter machine in response.

Courtesy of Real Clear Politics:

Friday on MSNBC, Chuck Todd said unless and until President Trump accepts "the fact that Russia interfered in this election," it will "plague him."

CHUCK TODD: You have a presidency right now that I think is, it's beyond saying it's in crisis mode, it's, you know, it's on the brink, the question is on the brink of what? Is it on the brink of collapse? Is it on the brink of being a temporary lame duck presidency? Maybe it feels lame-duckish temporarily right now.

You've got a stalled agenda. Republicans who have no fear of this president right now. They don't think there's a political penalty to buck him.

As you might imagine this did not sit well with a certain stubby fingered vulgarian.

Yeah according to CBS News that "total scam" has narrowed its focus a little:

CBS News has learned that U.S. investigators are looking into whether Trump campaign representatives had a role in helping Russian intelligence as it carried out cyberattacks on the Democratic National Committee and other political targets in March 2016.

This new information suggests that the FBI is going back further than originally reported to determine the extent of possible coordination. Sources say investigators are probing whether an individual or individuals connected to the campaign intentionally or unwittingly helped the Russians breach Democratic Party targets.

It would appear that everybody has a job to do.

The investigators are going to keep investigating, the journalists are going to keep reporting on those investigations, and Donald Trump is going to keep firing off desperate tweets to distract from those stories.

  2. How yooge was yer electoral victory, again? Drumpf'slegacy won't be failed business ventures, bankruptcies, workers and others he stiffed, how bad he screwed the treasury on taxes, or how he likes to grope his daughter. His entire legacy will be "Obama tapped my phones and no one believes me."

When are you people going to understand that the only thing any of these talking heads care about, left right or center, is making sure they are stirring up enough 'talk' controversy to keep their ratings up. I think the opinion of Chuck Todd has changed considerably. I couldn't watch or listen to him initially, but find I can now.

But, there is no way I can view the Morning Joe and Mika Show. Joe's a typical Republican asshole!

I do think Mika's opinion has changed about Trump, but Joe doesn't let her get a word in edgewise when she tries to say something negative about Trump.

    A Presidency Stalled And Sputtering

Since the Republican health care bill collapsed a little more than a week ago, President Trump's White House has struggled with a path forward. Trump is dealing with finger-pointing and infighting that threatens to derail his agenda, as well as nagging Russia investigations on Capitol Hill that are raising more questions than answers about his team.

And Trump has a real perception problem with the American public — he has the lowest approval rating at this point of any president in more than half a century.

This past week didn't help matters. Let's recap as well as look ahead:

Trump’s White House struggles to get out from under Russia controversy

...For the White House, it was another chaotic day in which its attempt to regain control of the political conversation — this time through two executive orders on trade — was relegated to an afterthought in Washington.

Trump aides have expressed growing frustration at their inability to gain control of Washington’s narrative, just over two months into the president’s tenure.

Trump Impeachment Odds Now at 56 Percent

Donald Trump is the President of the United States. But if oddsmakers are right, there’s a good chance that he won’t hold office for that long. There are many reasons Trump could be impeached or resign before his first term ends.

As of the morning of March 31, Trump’s odds of leaving office before his first term were 4/5.

Congress and U.S. intelligence agencies are scrutinizing connections between Russia and the Trump campaign as they investigate evidence that Russia interfered in the 2016 election. Here are members of Team Trump who are known to have Russian connections and the story lines that have made those ties relevant.

Make America Filthy, Hungry, Broke and Stupid Again

At the beginning of comrade Trump’s doomed administration, something he said at his puke-inducing hideout, Mar-a-Lago, right around the time he was pallin’ around with convicted killer Don King, told me everything about how this zero-talent grifter was going to govern. He called his repulsive property the “winter White House,” no doubt to put that into the country’s vocabulary, to be parroted by assholes like Sean Hannity going forward.

Right then I knew he was going to try to spend as much time there as he could and that he had absolutely no interest in doing the job of the president. I figured he would go there for Thanksgiving and stay until the beginning of the following year. His dipshit fans would defend the cash hemorrhage to secure the area by making patently false comparisons to the cost of President Obama’s vacation budget. How many more seven-figure vacations is this fraud going to take? Too bad that the comrade’s multimillion-dollar weekends in Florida, of which there have been five at the time of this writing, can’t be billed directly to his supporters.

Days ago, Trump rolled out a new name for his leisure cemetery as he announced a gathering he was having, concerning the Department of Veterans Affairs. “[W]e’re having a meeting tonight at what we call affectionately the Southern White House. Seems to be the most convenient location. Everybody always wants to go to the Southern White House.”

Is the South rising again? Let me get this straight, improving the VA requires all involved to fly almost 1,000 miles for a weekend meeting? This is making America great again?

    Fuck this guy.

Trump and His Buddies Keep Red Flags Flying in the Russia Probe

While names like Carter Page, Roger Stone and Michael Flynn dominate headlines amid allegations of possible collusion with Russia, there’s another angle to Donald Trump’s connections to the former Soviet Union that’s only beginning to receive the attention it deserves. This is the series of murky financial dealings that often make little business sense.

Taken on their own, many of these transactions appear perfectly legal. Viewed together, they show patterns suspicious enough that they should qualify for investigation under U.S. laws aimed at combating money laundering, tax evasion and other hard to track financial misdeeds.

One particularly good example of this pattern involves Trump’s billionaire commerce secretary, Wilbur Ross, and his former role as vice chairman of the Bank of Cyprus. His case is just one piece of the puzzle that may be reflective of other dealings that warrant much closer scrutiny.
    Russia’s Mediterranean Laundromat

Cyprus has a long-standing reputation as the place Russians go when they need to stash or launder large amounts of money with no questions asked. In 2013, Moody’s estimated that up to $31 billion in Russian money was deposited in Cypriot banks, roughly one-third of all deposits on the island.

Another $40 billion may have been loaned to Russian businesses in Cyprus, according to the ratings house. In 2012, Germany’s Federal Intelligence Service (BND) put the number of Russian deposits slightly lower, at $26 billion—a figure that’s still much higher than the island’s gross domestic product.

In the words of one former investment banker who worked deals involving former Soviet states, when doing financial due diligence, “anytime you see Russia and Cyprus connected, it’s a huge red flag.”

The island blossomed as a haven for Russian money after the fall of the Soviet Union. While most national regulators require financial institutions to perform layers of checks to guard against money laundering, things were different in Cyprus.

Are Republicans Prepared to Burn Down the Senate?

Even in a world where Republicans have shamelessly abandoned their supposed principles in order to embrace Donald Trump, the one thing about which they all still agree is that they must cut taxes on the rich.

On this point, Trump happily concurs. Indeed, Trump's regressive economic views easily put him into what now counts as the Republican mainstream.

Now that they are looking for a place to start all the winning that Trump promised his nonmajority of voters, the latest rumors are that congressional Republicans will take a run at the tax code. Other commentators have noted that this is hardly an easy lift, especially because the details of a tax overhaul will quickly destroy whatever unity remains on the right.

That is surely correct, but my question here is a different one. Suppose that the Republicans in Congress, both their leaders and their most extreme members, actually manage to get their collective act together and agree on the details of a huge gift to their wealthy patrons in the form of a tax "reform" bill.

Suppose also that Democrats in the Senate refuse to go along. Are Republicans so committed to reverse Robin Hood policies that they will finally abandon all pretense of preserving Senate rules?

In other words, will Republicans "go nuclear" on tax cuts for the rich in the same way that they might change the rules to confirm Supreme Court nominee Neil Gorsuch?

    WTF?

Democratic women senators not allowed to meet with Trump’s pick for stolen SCOTUS seat

Republicans are demanding Democratic support for Donald Trump's nominee to the stolen Supreme Court seat, but the White House is denying some Democratic women the opportunity to even meet with him for questioning.

...And that Gorsuch has refused to meet with female senators is but further evidence that Gorsuch has a problem with women in general. In college, Gorsuch belonged to a fraternity with a reputation for misogyny and rape, which he later defended. As a visiting professor at the University of Colorado Law School, Gorsuch reportedly told a class that “many” women exploit employers for maternity benefits and that it is proper for employers to ask potential female hires about their plans to have children.

And during Gorsuch’s Senate Judiciary Committee’s hearing, he demonstrated a stunning disrespect toward Senator Amy Klobuchar (D-MN), also a former attorney, snapping at her and responding to her questions with a patronizing tone that set the internet on fire.

"But it’s one thing to avoid a particular situation involving a particular woman who makes you feel a certain way; it’s another entirely to avoid all women as a group and as a rule because of the abstract possibility of sexual temptation. It’s telling, and extremely disheartening, that many people can’t tell the difference—that knowing the best thing to do for your partnership and subscribing wholesale to an idea about gender that calcifies woman as secondary could plausibly seem like the same thing. The Pence approach rules out a lunch meeting or a professional dinner with a woman. It also “included requiring that any aide who had to work late to assist him be male.” As National Journal reported two years ago, other congressmen had similar policies, in some cases to avoid the appearance of impropriety—a policy that, the Journal noted, may very well violate laws against discrimination in the workplace. Certainly, this approach is likely to lead to more all-male meetings of the sort we have seen so frequently in the early days of the Trump Administration. And, outside the professional world, it seems well nigh impossible to view a group of people as fully human if you refuse, categorically, to have them as friends."

I so hope Democrats come out in mass support of obstructing Gorsuch. Turn about is fair play and it's amazing to watch the Republicans make their 'fucking demands' of the Democrats. Who the Hell do they think they are? Remember, Republicans (led by Mitch McConnell) obstructed President Obama for his entire presidency (two terms).

Republicans are detested now throughout the country. Vote them out of office (especially in the United States Congress) when they come up for reelection.

Also, get involved with your local politics. Republicans need to be brought down to their knees throughout the country.

Heads up: Trump on track for massive midterm losses if the resistance shows up

Donald Trump’s early unpopularity, coupled with his apparent disinterest in key elections and antagonism toward his fellow Republicans, already has his party on the path to losses in the midterm elections, if voters resisting him make sure to show up.

Larry Sabato of the University of Virginia’s Center for Politics points out that Trump’s anemic approval ratings — 35 percent in the latest Gallup assessment, lower than President Obama’s ever was — “are the kinds of negative approval numbers we’ve seen from presidents who have suffered big midterm setbacks.”

Democrats would need to gain 25 seats to reach 218, the number required for a majority in the House of Representatives. In the Senate, they need to gain three seats to have a majority. Within the three most recent midterm elections, both parties have earned enough seats to change control of the House. Republicans earned 63 seats in 2010 to take control, while Democrats won 30 seats in 2006, leading to Nancy Pelosi as Speaker of the House.

Sabato goes on to point out that Trump’s approval rating could actually be “artificially high” because “the nation and world are fairly tranquil right now” — there have been no recent terrorist attacks on the United States, while the stock market and GDP growth are in overall positive territory and unemployment is down to 4.7 percent (data points easily attributable to President Obama’s work). Yet Trump, who lost the popular vote and entered the presidency with the lowest approval rating ever, continues to lose ground with voters.

Other signs of trouble for Trump and the Republicans include his apparent disinterest in the upcoming Georgia special election in the 6th Congressional District, where Democrat Jon Ossoff is holding his own in polls while receiving a huge boost from grassroots donations from across the country. Recently asked if Trump plans to be involved in the race, White House Press Secretary Sean Spicer said, “I’ve not even thought about it.”

    Trump's most damaging tweet

    http://www.msnbc.com/the-last-word/watch/trump-s-most-damaging-tweet-911636547851

Here is my theory of how Donald Trump will be impeached, and scores of people around him jailed.

It wasn’t just money laundering – it was “data laundering”.

My theory is based on public reporting, to which I will link in the text. Here it is:

Alfa Bank is a front for Russian intelligence. Along with Dimitry Firtash, a Russian agent of influence, it owns Cambridge Analytica, the data targeting company used by Trump’s campaign. It also owns SCL, the propaganda company responsible for what has been termed “fake news” but was actually real propaganda co-ordinated by Russian intelligence.

Cambridge Analytica and SCL use Facebook data they had no right to acquire, illegally stolen by a Russian spy working at Cambridge, to build an unbeatable target database of propaganda.

In the closing days of the election, the Russian state hacked into the voter rolls of the United States. Russian intelligence did this in order that they could provide this information to Alfa Bank in order to use Cambridge Analytica’s targeting, and SCL’s propaganda, in order precisely to target voters and tip them to Trump.

I have thought since the election that something like this happened, here's why -- trump et al said sketchy stuff about how they know how to turn out voters in key districts. Which was weird for him to say because they weren't spending money on GOTV -- they weren't even paying their pollsters!

And the other reason -- now this is going to sound crazy -- but there was a nutty guy on 538 who posted pro-trump stuff non-stop. It was probably a Russian troll. The thing was this guy -- NO FUCKING KIDDING -- predicted correctly every single swing state that Trump ended up winning. Even when trump was down in the polls by five points nationally, and it looked like Hillary could win AZ and GA, this asshole KNEW that trump was going to win MINN. Weird.

But I feel like a nutter for espousing this opinion. Or worse -- like a republican sore loser!

If the Bernie bros were Putin trolls, then maybe Bernie was being paid to stay in the race???

Where was Chuck Todd the talking penis when Trump needed exposing not exposure?

Trump hasn't been to New York City since he was inaugurated over two months ago. He's afraid of the size of the protests that will greet him, doesn't want to see his neighbors out there.
