Senator Elizabeth Warren says "it is crazy" to consider Trump's Supreme Court nominee in the middle of the Russia collusion in investigation.

Courtesy of The Hill:

Sen. Elizabeth Warren (D-Mass.) said on Tuesday that the Senate shouldn't confirm a Supreme Court nominee from President Trump while the FBI is still investigating any potential ties between his campaign and Russia.

"I think it is crazy that we are considering confirming a lifetime Trump nominee to the Supreme Court at a moment when the president's campaign is under the cloud of an active, ongoing FBI counterintelligence investigation," Warren said from the Senate floor.

She added that the FBI's probe into Russia's meddling in the 2016 presidential election "could result in indictments and appeals that will go all the way to the Supreme Court, so that Trump's nominee could be the deciding vote on whether Trump or his supporters broke the law."

That is exactly right and that is EXACTLY why the Democrats should of their best to block EVERY ONE of Trump's nominees and policy decisions.

This is an illegitimate presidency and therefore everything that Trump does is also illegitimate.

In my opinion every Democrat, and very likely many Republicans, running for office next year should be making damn sure that they are on record as obstructing every single thing that Trump attempts to accomplish.

If they do not, they might very well find themselves out of a job sooner than they anticipate.

Do Sen. Warren a favor and don't always show a picture of her with her mouth open, as most media do. She has other facial expressions, and this one isn't always flattering and makes her look as though she"s shouting.

Jared Kushner Suddenly Looms Large In Trump Probe — Is Trouble Ahead For Jewish Golden Boy?

A Washington Post graphic published recently mapped the ties and alleged ties to Russia of President Trump and his associates.

The name of Jared Kushner, once the wunderkind of Team Trump, loomed shockingly large within the elaborate web crisscrossing the illustration. The 36-year-old son-in-law and senior adviser to the president has at least three points of connection now under investigation.

Recent discoveries have put Kushner’s ties with the Kremlin in the spotlight just as the probe heats up to the point where it could pose a bigger threat Trump’s troubled young presidency. More worrying for Kushner, of the triumvirate surrounding the Trump — top strategist Steve Bannon, chief of staff Reince Priebus, and Kushne — the president’s son-in-law stands out as the only one who may have been involved in business and perhaps diplomatic ties with the Russians.

Rabbi Jack Moline, president of the Interfaith Alliance and former leader of the National Jewish Democratic Council, mocked Kushner for his ties to allies of Russian President Vladimir Putin, comparing his actions to “drinking (tea) from a samovar with a former commissar.”

“He is proceeding, like much of the Trump administration, with doing dangerous things to this country, even assuming the best of intentions,” Moline said.

Kushner is now facing a congressional investigation into his meeting with the Russian ambassador during the presidential transition and a recently disclosed meeting he held with meeting he held with a Russian banker close to Putin whose bank is under U.S.-imposed sanctions. These meetings are now at the center of a larger investigation into Russia’s attempt to meddle with the U.S. election and into the question whether there was any collusion on behalf of the Trump campaign with these Russian efforts.

...The news of Kushner’s previously unreported Russian connections come as his portfolio grows thicker by the day. At the order of his father-in-law, President Trump, Kushner is now in charge of promoting Middle East peace, negotiating with Mexico, managing diplomacy with China, dealing with America’s opioid addiction problem, reforming veteran care, rethinking criminal justice, and re-inventing government.

Look out, Dana Boente: Donald Trump changes DOJ succession yet again as Russia scandal grows

Trump once again tries to alter who would prosecute his Russia scandal

For the second time in just eight weeks, Donald Trump has issued an Executive Order changing the line of succession at the Department of Justice. He keeps changing the hierarchy based on office, not by naming the names of specific people – but in both instances it’s directly impacted who may end up in charge of prosecuting Trump’s Russia investigation. And this latest move suggests he may now be attempting to remove U.S. Attorney Dana Boente from the Russia scandal.

Trump’s first Executive Order on the matter was issued on February 9th (source: whitehouse.gov). It ensured that if Attorney General Jeff Sessions had to vacate his office or recuse himself from a case, those duties would be assumed by the “United States Attorney for the Eastern District of Virginia” – in other words Dana Boente.

Subsequently, Sessions did recuse himself from the Russia investigation after he was caught having lied to the Senate under oath about his own meetings with the Russian Ambassador. Accordingly, Dana Boente became the decision maker for the Trump-Russia investigation. But then FBI Director James Comey testified before the House Intelligence Committee on March 20th that he had been authorized by the Department of Justice to publicly disclose that the FBI is currently investigating the Donald Trump campaign and Russia. If Trump moved Dana Boente up in the DOJ line of succession with the expectation that Boente would have prevented such a thing from happening, then the move clearly didn’t work.

Now Trump has issued a second Executive Order on the matter, dated March 31st (source: whitehouse.gov). It keeps Boente’s Eastern Virginia office in its current position in the hierarchy. But just below Boente, the “United States Attorney for the Northern District of Illinois” has now been swapped out for the “United States Attorney for the Eastern District of North Carolina.”

As it turns out, the North Carolina office is currently occupied by John Stuart Bruce (source: Justice Department), an Obama appointee who was never confirmed and still holds the position in an acting capacity. Under federal law, that office will become vacant about a month from now (source: Cornell University Law School), meaning that Donald Trump can appoint anyone he likes.

The upshot: Trump just changed the law such that he’ll get to hand pick anyone he likes to be next in the line of succession directly under Dana Boente at the DOJ. Considering that Boente allowed the FBI to publicly confirm the Trump-Russia investigation, it does not appear that Boente has been willing to do Trump’s bidding. This raises the question of whether Trump plans to fire Boente once he appoints someone to the Eastern North Carolina office who can then take over the Trump-Russia investigation.

The complicating factor in all of this...

Devin Nunes Could Be Facing an Ethics Probe for Spilling Secrets

House rules compel Congress to ‘investigate any unauthorized disclosure of intelligence.’ That’s what the intel chair seems to have done when he talked about Team Trump and foreign surveillance.

The controversy surrounding House Intelligence Committee Chairman Devin Nunes may just be getting started. Nunes could soon be staring down the barrel of a House Ethics Committee investigation, lawyers familiar with the House’s rules tell The Daily Beast.

A few Republicans have already joined Democrats in calling for Nunes to either recuse himself from his committee’s probe into Russian influence—or to step down as chairman.

To add to this pressure, it appears that the chairman may have opened himself up to an ethics investigation by apparently disclosing the existence of a foreign surveillance warrant during a press conference last Tuesday.

Nunes’s problem lies in the arcane rules of the House of Representatives. Buried in the rules regarding the House Intelligence Committee is a section that triggers a mandatory investigation into an allegation of spilling classified information.

“The Committee on Ethics shall investigate any unauthorized disclosure of intelligence or intelligence-related information,” reads the rule. The key to this rule is the phrase, “shall investigate”—a command, rather than a mere suggestion.

“The plain wording of the rule is that the ethics committee is required to conduct such an investigation,” said Brett Kappel, an attorney that specializes in political law.

The trigger could be as simple as a complaint from a single member of the House of Representatives.

Confirmed: GOP House Intel Chair Devin Nunes is Under Bipartisan Ethics Investigation

The House Committee on Ethics sent a letter Thursday, confirming that Rep. Devin Nunes is under investigation.

It’s a bad day for Republican Representative Devin Nunes, as not only did he have to step aside from leading the House Intel investigation into his own behavior and President Trump’s campaign in regards to Russia, but it was just confirmed that he is under investigation as well for possible unauthorized disclosures of classified information.

The House Committee on Ethics sent a letter Thursday, confirming that Nunes is under investigation.

Here’s the statement of the Chairwoman and Ranking Member of the Committee on Ethics Regarding Representative Devin Nunes:

Steve Bannon THREATENS Trump Over Removal From National Security Council, Administration In CHAOS

    https://www.nytimes.com/2017/04/05/us/politics/national-security-council-stephen-bannon.html

Steve Bannon was talked out of resigning from White House by his Cambridge Analytica partner

...It’s been widely theorized (though not in any way substantiated) that Cambridge Analytica was using the data that Russian hackers stole from voter registration databases and allegedly fed to the Donald Trump campaign through the now-infamous Trump Tower email server. But whether this theory is true or not, what does seem more clear is that Bannon and Mercer had been putting their efforts into Cambridge Analytica prior to the 2016 election because they wanted to help someone of their liking get elected.

In any case, we now know that it was Steve Bannon’s former business associate in Cambridge Analytica who convinced him yesterday to hang on to the diminished White House role that he still has (source: Politico). Mercer’s reasoning, according to the source: “this is a long-term play.” Interpret that how you will. But it raises the question of why Bannon’s billionaire backer wants him to remain in the White House...

I dare say that a secret service member, off-duty, soliciting a prostitute is worthy of "Trump's Administration just caught up in prostitution scandal here's how it went down".

Some of these far left sites are just as bad as Breitbart and Fox when it comes to over-sensationalizing and producing click-bait headlines.
