U.S. President Donald Trump won’t visit the U.K. until he feels the British public would welcome him, he told U.K. Prime Minister Theresa May in a phone conversation in recent weeks, the Guardian reports.
Trump didn’t want to spark public protests, he told May according to a Downing Street advisor quoted anonymously by the paper, potentially postponing the visit indefinitely.
London Mayor Sadiq Khan earlier this week called for the visit to be cancelled over the president’s comments in the aftermath of the London terrorist attacks.
“I don’t think we should roll out the red carpet to the president of the U.S. in the circumstances where his policies go against everything we stand for,” Khan told Channel 4 News Monday evening.
Aww, did the little orange snowflake get his fee fees hurted?
Well he better get used to it because if the British papers are any indication, things are certainly not going to get better for him anytime soon.
Courtesy of The Guardian:
Donald Trump is not a fit and proper person to hold the office of president of the United States. That is a view widely held in the US and among America’s European allies, by politicians and diplomats in government and by rank-and-file voters repelled by his gross egoism, narcissism and what Boris Johnson, the foreign secretary, has rightly termed his “stupefying ignorance”. It is a view we wholeheartedly share and have repeatedly expressed, before and after Trump’s narrow election victory last November.
Trump is an habitual liar, as evidenced again in last week’s sworn congressional testimony by his sacked FBI director, James Comey. Trump is a bully, as Angela Merkel, Germany’s chancellor, among many others, can testify from personal experience. And Trump is a coward. When put on the spot, as over his authorisation of a disastrous special forces raid in Yemen in January or his bogus claim that Britain’s GCHQ bugged him, his craven instinct was to shift blame to others.
Since taking office, Trump’s dangerous, loutish and irresponsible behaviour has exceeded his critics’ worst nightmares. He has fuelled Islamist extremism by escalating US military involvement in Syria, Iraq and Afghanistan, at a rising cost in civilian lives. He has exacerbated divisions by his attempts to ban Muslims travelling to the US. He threatens war with Iran while cutting foreign aid and cosying up to autocrats and human rights abusers in Saudi Arabia, the Philippines and Turkey.
Yeah I don't see that red carpet in England rolling out for Trump anytime soon.
Here's an idea.
Perhaps if we ratchet up the criticisms here at home, we can irritate Trump enough so that he no longer feels welcome in America either.
Maybe we can piss him off so much that refuses to live here anymore and takes his traveling sideshow to somewhere that he feels more welcome.
Say Saudi Arabia for instance.
After all they let him touch their orb and gave him a bunch of expensive goodies.
Hey its worth a try, and I know I will certainly continue doing my part.
P.S. Apparently after this story broke Britain's soon to be replaced Prime Minister found out and they are now saying the visit is still on.
Okay, let's wait to see who's right.
The Brits promised they'd come out and line the streets for him in his golden carriage- and moon him. And they would.
ReplyDeleteI bet the Kiwis are sorry they never thought of it LOL

President Trump, sub-leader of the free world,
ReplyDelete- has the best armored limousine in the world
- has not one but two Air Force One jets
- travels in a convoy three blocks long
Is afraid to go to the U.K. if their people, the British public, are not warm and welcoming to him. You know Trump has to feel loved or he stays in the White House.
Or at his little private club in FL, surrounded by SS personnel who keep people away from him. You know, the one that costs US tons of money every time he goes?
DeleteWhite House communications, send the same message below to California but change "the U.K." to "California" and British public" to "Obama's People"

U.S. President Donald Trump won’t visit the U.K. until he feels the British public would welcome him.
That's fine. We don't want him in California either. Much prefer he stay on the other side of the country. Let Florida enjoy him. They voted for him.
DeleteThere is one place in the world our non-fearing president would send that ultimatum to.
ReplyDeleteMother Russia would never receive that scaredy cats message.
I believe your president made that ultimatum not to go to the UK because if we protest and holler at him then he won't be able to ride in our gold-plated carriage with Queen Elizabeth II.
ReplyDeletePresident Trump has requested a ride with Queen Elizabeth II in a gold-plated carriage during his visit to the United Kingdom.
True or Not? Fuck that!

People just need to spit on him. Disgusting pos!
DeleteIf it is true Trump likes Russian Golden Showers, what's wrong with British loogies?
ReplyDeleteWhat are the odds our pussy grabbing President Trump will never go to Germany or France. If he does, he will land at an American military base and will stay on it and the American White House will advertise President Trump visited Germany and France.
ReplyDeleteThe protests will still take place and photos and video of them will still appear on the media.
DeleteIf a United States of America Congressman has to warn President Trump to shut the eff up or he will "go down" means members of the Republican Congress knows he's guilty.

Graham: Trump could 'go down' because he can't stay quiet
Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-S.C.) on Sunday said President Trump could be the first commander in chief “to go down” over ongoing chaos in his administration, including his Twitter habit.
“You may be the first president in history to go down because you can't stop inappropriately talking about an investigation that if you just were quiet, would clear you,” Graham said of Trump on CBS’s “Face the Nation.”

ReplyDeleteGOOD NEWS (I guess?): Sunday, Melania and Barron moved into the White House
BAD NEWS: The American taxpayers will be paying our tax dollars to house and feed more immigrants in the White House besides Melania. Melania's parents are following her to Washington DC.
The Hill
It was reported last week that Melania and Barron would be joining Trump in the White House this week. The two had stayed in New York City to allow Barron to finish school.
Melania Trump's parents, Amalija and Victor Knavs, were with the family on Sunday evening and are a expected to become more familiar figures in Washington. The Knavs were living with Melania and Barron Trump in their Trump Tower penthouse in New York City.

ReplyDeleteLOL.
ReplyDeleteThat invitation isn't going to be repeated anytime soon. Not ever.
His performance among the world leaders at the climate conference pretty much sealed his fate.
No one is going to invite him for any state visits. Well, no one in polite world company. I'm sure the world's dictators would be happy to host him and he'll be happy to attend as long as he gets sufficient graft and presents. (He'll make sure Congress lets him keep everything.)
YOU KNOW WHO NEEDS TO BE LOVED
ReplyDelete(Think I'm kidding? Look at the picture of trump crashing parties)
Washington Post:
President Trump can’t stop crashing parties at his golf clubs
The first dance. The toasts. The cake-cutting. The … surprise appearance by the president of the United States?
President Trump apparently can’t resist crashing a party, showing up to at least two private events this weekend at the Trump National Golf Club in Bedminster, N.J.
On Saturday night, Trump dropped in on a wedding reception taking place at his golf club, according to pictures of the celebration that emerged on social media.
“When POTUS shows up to your wedding …” one Instagram user wrote, under a series of photos of Trump posing with the bride and groom. The photos were later made private.
Another photo from the event showed Trump with his arms outstretched, surrounded by wedding guests

He only does this shit to get attention and make the couple's day all about him. Plus, he knows that people will feel obligated to be supportive so it's kind of a mini-campaign rally for him, one that he actually profits from.

DeleteTo some extent, Theresa May's loss in the recent election is the result of her having courted Trump from the moment of his inauguration. I don't think that she's very smart. Her position will become all the more untenable if she tries to force the British population to pretend to like our con-artist-in-chief. And if I were a Brit, I'd sure oppose his dreamed of open carriage ride with Queen Elizabeth. The poor woman should not be exposed to the likes of Trump.
ReplyDeleteBy the way, this week's John Oliver show on HBO provides an excellent survey of the political mess that May is in and the mess that all of the UK will be in when "Brexit" becomes a reality. Very incisive.
