Barack Obama will officially return to politics on Thursday.

That's right, I'm coming back to help you!
Courtesy of Politico:

Barack Obama will make the first official political move of his post-presidency on Thursday, headlining a private fundraiser for the National Democratic Redistricting Committee at a private home in Washington.

The event, which will also be attended by NDRC chair Eric Holder and House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi, is to support the group he’s helping back to coordinate Democratic efforts in state races and lawsuits to push back on Republican success in gerrymandering over many cycles. In many statehouses and Congress, that’s left Democrats at a baked-in disadvantage.

Of course according to the Right Wing Obama has been engaged in a behind the scenes "shadow presidency" all along.

However for those of us who did not spend our childhoods huffing paint behind the Quik Stop, this is clearly the first time that Obama is officially stepping back into the fray.

And boy we could certainly use his help.

GOP researchers plot ethics attacks on Democrats

...A major Republican organization dedicated to digging up dirt on Democrats has restructured its leadership team and is now laying down congressional- and presidential-year campaign plans, which include a bigger push in digital advertising, highlighting Democratic “hypocrisy” on ethical issues and exploiting the divide on the left between centrists and progressives.

In an exclusive interview with McClatchy, America Rising PAC announced a new executive director: Alexandra Smith, the former chairwoman of the College Republican National Committee and the first woman to lead the group. Colin Reed, who previously held that role, is moving into a senior adviser position, where he will focus on tracking Democrats’ possible 2020 contenders – “developing a negative narrative on them early and often,” he said.

Once again, Republicans are masters of projection.

If there is one party that excels at hypocrisy, it's the GOP, not the Democrats. For every example of Democratic hypocrisy, we can give them at least 5 examples of Republican hypocrisy.

It's truly sickening how they will stoop to any level, and destroy anyone and anything in order to win.

Democrats don’t back down even as Republicans struggle on health care

Republicans scrapped two weeks of vacation in hopes of securing enough votes to roll back Obamacare and move onto other legislative priorities. Senate Democrats, sensing desperation from the GOP, hope to use the extra time working to bury any chance of repeal.

Democrats need to OBTRUCT as the Republicans did throughout the Obama Presidency. Turnabout is fair play! And, I would applaud their doing so.

I also suspect Republicans throughout the country are going to go down in the next election process. I can hardly wait to assure none in my state are reelected currently serving in the United States Congress!

Trump caught in another lie: Paperwork reveals he never stepped away from multiple businesses

...The Intercept reported Wednesday that Trump’s January press event in which he posed for the cameras with piles of “documents” — they were later found to be blank stacks of paper — and pledged to divest himself from his private businesses as president was a sham.

Trump hired tax attorney Sheri Dillon to manage the purported handover of control to the president’s sons Donald Trump Jr. and Eric Trump, but as the Intercept pointed out, the arrangement was still miles away from the traditional blind trust in which presidents place their assets while in office.

Months later, it appears the president couldn’t even be bothered to adhere to the tenets of that modest plan.

“Shortly after his inauguration,” wrote the Intercept’s Mattathias Schwartz, “he released a letter, dated January 19. It appeared to show him resigning from more than 400 corporate entities connected to the Trump Organization’s businesses. Alex Garten, a Trump Organization lawyer, told CNN that the Trump Organization would update the company’s official state records ‘in the ordinary course as and when required by law.’”

However, said Schwartz, research by the Intercept showed Trump “couldn’t even be bothered to promptly follow through on the very small promises made by Dillon to create the appearance of some separation between his presidency and his businesses. True to form, Trump promised the bare minimum and did even less.”

The state of New York still has Trump listed as the CEO of four different businesses — all of which he claims he has stopped running.

Every day more and more things come out about The Donald. Republicans need to get their asses in gear and start the Impeachment procedures required to rid America of this evil man!

He, and Republicans, are doing nothing but driving our country into the abyss.

Don't get tooo terribly excited, just yet. This will take time, but DAMN isn't it a great first step?

I think I can safely say and speak for my fellow IM ers that this country needs President Barack Obama back in office! The man is intelligent, totally educated, fit and needed back leading this country with the same decency, fairness, calm, effectiveness and leadership ability that he did for eight years! Only I would desperately wish the Democrats controlled Congress! Then this country could progress effectively into the 21st century.

Hackers have been stealing credit card numbers from Trump’s hotels for months

...Attackers first infiltrated Trump hotels’ payment processing system in May 2014, and installed malware on the hotel’s networks to mine customers’ credit card information, according to an investigation cited by Eric Schneiderman, New York’s attorney general. Trump Hotels was informed of the breach in June 2015 but did not post a notice on its website until four months later, according to Schneiderman.

A second breach took place beginning in November 2015, when an attacker installed malware on 39 systems affecting five Trump hotels, according to investigators. Four months later, in March, an attacker tapped into a legacy payment system that included personal information of Trump hotel property owners, including the names and Social Security numbers of more than 300 people.

“It seems very negligent that this could happen a number of times,” said Justin Cappos, an associate professor of systems and security at New York University. “These patterns of oversight are a huge problem.”

The DNA pool of Trump and party are probably having a massive meltdown over this. Bannon's face vessels are red and ready to explode. The black man is back!
It's not going to be bad Trumpsters. I mean poor Obama having to come back, you have to feel sorry for the man. Every other president got the opportunity to move along in their lives but not Obama. I mean with all that big talk Trump gave, people were trying to give him the benefit of the doubt and all he's giving us his Hitler's agenda. Oh, and Putin. No, thanks.

When will anyone in the Trump White House figure out that they can't keep complaining that everyone one else did it too? Because no one else did it. No one else colluded with the Russians to steal an election. That is a uniquely Trumpian addition to the world of US politics.

Leaked emails reveal that Donald Trump, Jr.’s new defense attorney, a former Hillary Clinton and Barack Obama supporter, has some harsh words for President Trump.

According to the New York Post, Alan Futerfas, Trump Jr.’s newly-hired lawyer, was extremely troubled by Trump’s firing of former Acting Attorney General Sally Yates — so much so that he urged his fellow New York attorneys to take a stand against “what increasingly appears to be a renegade and lawless President.”

In emails leaked to the Post, Futerfas also agreed with a fellow attorney’s suggestion that their organization “create a committee to deal with all the Constitutional crisis (sic) that are sure to arise under this administration.”

Futerfas confirmed that Trump Jr. hired him on Monday amid the mounting scandal surrounding the eldest Trump son’s meeting with a Russian lawyer who promised “dirt” on Clinton last summer.

Russian Officials Overheard Discussing Trump Associates Before Campaign Began

U.S. intelligence starting in the spring of 2015 detected conversations in which Russian government officials discussed meetings with Trump associates

U.S. intelligence agencies starting in the spring of 2015 detected conversations in which Russian government officials discussed associates of Donald Trump, several months before he declared his candidacy for president, according to current and former U.S. officials.

In some cases, the Russians in the overheard conversations talked about meetings held outside the U.S. involving Russian government officials and Trump business associates or advisers, these people said.

It isn’t clear which Trump associates or advisers the Russians were referring to, or whether they had any connection to his presidential aspirations.

The reports were gathered by intelligence agencies that routinely monitor Russian espionage against the U.S. Such efforts can include monitoring phone calls and emails as well as information from informants. The efforts weren’t aimed at Mr. Trump or his associates, these people said.

  21. Not enough.

They need to push back on voter suppression and disenfranchiement.

They need to push to put Democrats into seats at the local and state levels, not just the national.

And they need to support ALL democratic candidates, not just the ones they think will win. (That's how they lost the last FOUR special elections.)

They need to stop assuming wins based on polling and past elections. They need to listen to their boots on the ground people. They need to pay attention to what is happening. They need to WORK and FIGHT for votes.

They still don't seem to be able to tell which way the wind was blowing.

(They need to stop listening to Mark Penn and other out of touch, past their prime losers.)
