Donald Trump announces a joint cyber security unit with Russia, before retracting it, on the same day.

So that was Trump's unbelievable announcement yesterday.

Which as we know received an incredulous response from the media and an angry backlash from many Democratic and Republican lawmakers.

So then in response Trump tweeted this out later in the evening.
So wait, Trump announced the creation of a cyber security unit that he always knew could never happen?

Do the Russians know this can never happen?

Well not exactly:

Asked about Trump’s comments, a Russian official told reporters on Monday that while there might not be a formal task force, the two leaders “reached an agreement” to coordinate more on cybersecurity.

Okay so no task force, but we are still coordinating with the Russians on cyber security?

Does that seem like a distinction without a difference to anybody else?

Funny that is sort if similar to Sarah Palin. Sarah was for the Bridge To Nowhere before she was against it.

Trump was for cyber collusion with Putin before Trump was against it.

  3. This would be the same meeting then that we read Melania was unsuccessfully sent into in the hopes of shortening before Trump gave away the whole store...? Aren't we dying to know how politely she was told to close the door behind her on her way out?

    1. Anonymous11:11 AM

If they had really wanted Trump to leave Putin they should have sent in Ivanka to distract him.

  9. Anonymous12:31 PM

Trump is a dope. He has no clue that Putin plays him and makes him look stupid as he feeds his ego?

Trump doesn't know his own son commits treason down the hall from him in his own golden home? All Trump sees is glitter. He is blinded by his intent to destroy others.

It’s still not clear which of the two meetings took place first that day. Bizarrely, Donald Trump bragged during his (fundraising) meeting that he wouldn’t need as much money to beat Hillary Clinton in the election “as people think.” And again, this was either directly before or directly after Trump’s son met with the Kremlin in the same building and discussed how to discredit Clinton.
Donald Trump will now be forced to try to make the case that he somehow didn’t know his son Donald Trump Jr. was holding a meeting down the hall with the Kremlin. If he can’t sell the mainstream general public on that idea, then he’s completely screwed – not just in a political sense, but also in a legal sense. Trump’s son committed treason down the hall from him, and he almost certainly knew it was happening.

We saw Putin comfortable in his skin. He had Trump in his grasp. Trump just shined as he adored Putin. Putin just calmly accepted the adoration.
We heard from the horse's mouth that we would give Russia what they wanted, and that would include them helping us with cyber security. Kerpesky Inc. was tickled pink.
All was going well with Trump and Putin until they stepped out of their bubble. Then they had to be confronted with real time reality.
Now the back tracking as baby donnie realizes that people were watching he and Vlad in the crib playing. Only they talked for two and half hours. What they fuck did donnie promise? Because his administration and the Republicans are in cahoots with all this they stood by and let the president be virtually alone with the most dangerous person in the world. So we wait and see what Putin think is owed to him for electing donnie.

  11. Our corporations are already sharing the cyber security.

  12. The Chief Twit just confirmed Lavrov's account of the Putin meeting at the G-20.

    Told you so.

"“I strongly pressed President Putin twice about Russian meddling in our election. He vehemently denied it. I’ve already given my opinion . . .”

This tweet is more consistent with Lavrov’s readout that Trump accepted Putin’s denial than it is with the proposition that Trump confronted Putin with unequivocal certainty that Russia was behind the election interference.

What does “strongly pressed” mean? In the context of Trump’s previous statements on the issue, its most likely meaning is that Trump demanded an answer from Putin on whether Russia was behind the hacking. It is hard to imagine that Trump did a complete 180 on his previous position that “nobody knows,” and said something like “we know you did it.” If he had, we’d know. He’d be bragging about it.

And there’s absolutely no need to guess about what “I’ve already given my opinion” means. Trump has consistently given his opinion that nobody knows, that it could have been another country, or even some 400-pound guy in a basement.

Translate Trump’s obfuscation and weasel words into plain English and you get something like, “I asked Putin twice whether he was behind the hacking, he strongly denied it, and I continue to believe that nobody really knows who did it.”"

    Fucking weaselly yellow bellied moron.
