Happy 4th of July!

I am not typically somebody who gets all caught up in over the top patriotism on days like this.

But this year is different from times past.

This year I really feel that my country is under siege and that it is the duty of every citizen to stand up against the tyranny which is spreading like a cancer throughout the land.

We are under attack.

Perhaps not physically, though I fear that will come, but intellectually, emotionally, and, dare I say, spiritually.

I don't mean the kind of spirituality that they talk about in church, I mean the kind of spirituality that makes you feel connected to the land on which you live, and the people who live there with you.

These last eight years I have felt a kind of kinship with my fellow countrymen that I had not felt for many years, if ever. A feeling that we were all moving forward together. Perhaps not all at the same pace, but moving all the same.

I do not feel that any longer.

And the loss of the feeling has left an emptiness that I never knew I had before.

So today we may celebrate the freedom that our forefathers fought for lo so many years ago, while also remembering that the fight for freedom is never truly over. And that fact has never seemed more real than it does today.

Life Liberty and Happiness. It is Our Declaration of Independence. We are a free people because of those before us. It is a written document of our rights and belief in freedom for all, justice for all, equality for all. We the people of the USA have a right to remove anyone or anything that invades our right to Life Liberty and pursuit of Happiness. Right now the entire Republican party are obstructing and denying American's Our rights of a sound leader and right to LIFE, LIBERTY AND THE PURSUIT OF HAPPINESS, due to their actions and inactions. Trump and McConnell should resign today for starters.

As I work on my Ancestry Research I see the many relatives that believed in Our Country, Our Documents, Our Leaders. They fought for their Lifes. I wonder what they would say today?.... What would our forefather say about Donald trump?... What would they tell us to do about him?... What would they do?... Tar and Feather?

After reading Trump's latest tweet on NK this could be the last Independence Day we have.

Sorry for the rant, but I have HAD IT with all of them. MAGA my keester.

I wouldn't go QUITE that far, 5:57, but I think the serious threat is there! If Humpty Trumpty stays in office for his full four years I believe he may actually STAY there.

      BLECH!!

6:53 AM - President Obama was just fine to hang a medal around his neck, wasn't he, then nothing but criticism from the all-knowing DUH. Perhaps because he was told to get an education? The nerve!

Queer? " They argue over the wisdom of religious freedom restoration acts, which excuse non-compliance with various laws."lthough we’d never be able to prove it, that one kiss had caused a cataclysm, culminating in a camouflaging wholesale policy change." casting the vast Christian majority as the true “victims.” The universe they’d prefer to inhabit would drive LGBTQ people back into a closet, afraid that visibility would compromise their jobs, their safety, and even their lives. For some, that’s already the reality."

If you read about "shock doctrine" you get a sick feeling about what is coming. Some anyway, others are drooling in anticipation of the profits to be had under an administration that is there for the money.

I go to the Atlantic City fireworks. Ironically it is overwhelmingly immigrants who attend these fireworks. From multiple nations. They are so happy to be here working shit jobs for shit pay. How bad are their home countries to think our country is still better? Our president and many of their fellow citizens dont want them here. Yet they persist and believe in a place many of us now find unrecognizable and abhorrent, thanks to the president and those that want him as such.
