Conservative activist Sarah Palin won’t be attending the first court proceeding in her defamation case against The New York Times, according to her lawyer.
The former vice presidential candidate and Alaska governor filed a lawsuit on June 27 alleging The Times ran a “fabricated story.” The initial conference in the case is set for 11 a.m. Friday.
Asked Thursday whether Palin will be in the courtroom, her lawyer, S. Preston Ricardo, replied “No” in an email to the Daily News.
"Conservative activist?" Well I guess that sounds better than "failed reality show performer," or "political has been."
I love this part of the article:
Palin wants The Times to pay up for “falsely stating to millions of people that she, a devoted wife, mother and grandmother, who committed a substantial portion of her adult life to public service, is part of a pattern of ‘lethal’ politics,” the suit contends.
"Devoted" wife, mother, and grandmother?
If the court will indulge me I'd like to make an objection. Or vomit in my mouth, whichever is the more convenient.
And who is she kidding with this "committed a substantial portion of her adult life to public service?"
The only public that Palin ever served was her the public that looked back at her from a mirror every morning.
Remember this case is only seeking $75,000 in damages.
And since the Times has declared they are planning to aggressively fight this thing Palin could end up with hundreds of thousands of dollars in legal fees.
OT?

DeleteDo we have to wait until Gryphen posts something on 'gay-married' before learning about this Supreme Court case?
She'll just stiff everyone. Can she go to jail? That would be nice.
ReplyDeleteShe's probably figuring it'll cost her 75 grand, and it will. Mrs Don't Retreat, RELOAD has a whole history of inciting and glorifying violence and she can't try and word-sausage her way out of that- all of that evidence is in the public domain.
ReplyDeleteHer bragging about how effective her gunsights were, AFTER Gabby Giffords said it was a dangerous thing to do... everything she does shows Sarah Palin to be the bloodthirsty attention whore that she really is.
Fuck you, Sarah Palin, go away you dried-out old failure. You're only after easy money as usual, why don't you get a job like a normal person?
Oh please oh please, $arah, have yer day in court! I SOOOO want to read the transcript of her deposition, the stupid woman.
DeleteShe may not have to appear in court. Her high fallutin' lawyer can do it all.
DeleteI think she's just hoping they will take the bait and write her a check for 75K to make her silly claim go away. She's already thrilled that she was able to get her name in the news for a minute again.
ReplyDeleteSarah Palin is and always has been "devoted" to no one other than herself. In that, she greatly resembles the present occupant of the White House. And, yes, her hateful behavior during the 2008 presidential campaign demeaned the political process forever.

ReplyDeleteLook at her hairline in that photo.

Beefy's instagram for July 4 was a terribly staged scene where she's once again peddling her shit-tea, wearing a flag around her neck, while holding her latest brat in a kitchen that looked like a ghost town. Your last paragraph almost made me spit out my coffee!
DeleteThis case comes down to Palin being defamed in some way. She is unemployed, an ex D list celebrity with no political future, damages are non existent. This is Palin waiting for a payday, PERIOD. Shit, she even had to pay her own way to see Trump and rant her bs during the election.
ReplyDeleteSarah is not unemployed. Isn't she receiving income from her Facebook hits?
DeletePalin's political ambitions are not over. Sarah's saying is she never says no!
Delete9:20 There is a difference between being employed and receiving income. Since she no longer publicly speaks for money, she's unemployed.0
Delete$ister $ara aint making that much from her Fecebook spew. Not nearly enough to compensate for the cost of the life to which she (and her brats) has become accustomed.
DeleteLong way down that well Sarah!
DeleteLegal fees which someone else is likely paying for - The question is who is that someone else? Could it be Donald the Rump?
ReplyDeleteThis is an interesting question. Remember Trump said he wanted to open up the libel laws so the press could be sued. This may be a test case that someone else is bankrolling. Just watched a documentary on the Gawker / Hulk Hogan case that turned out to be bankrolled by Thiel and after it was over I got on to see the news and BuzzFeed is being sued by a Russian who was in a dossier they posted. I think there is a concerted effort to destroy the press and anyone who reports on the absurdity of the "fake news" being flooded into the discourse. Today Rachel had an article about someone disseminating fake leaked documents to see if the media will report on them and then be shown to be passing along fake news so no one trusts them. Something is being orchestrated so that no one knows who to trust anymore. Wierd and scary times.
DeleteRussians. How's the old man?
DeleteWhat the hell makes her think $he's going to win this case?
ReplyDeleteShe's fucking Sarah Palin that's why. According to Sarah Palin, she can do whatever she wants until the court says she can't.
DeletePathological greed?
DeleteShe assumes the NYT will settle - and for big bucks. That's all she's interested in. The NYT article was a godsend to Sarah Palin now that her withered dead PAC is no longer supporting her and her family. It sure beats getting a job in Wasilla!

ReplyDelete"who committed a substantial portion of her adult life to public service,"
ReplyDeleteWhat did Sarah Palin get out of it?
Well coincidentally, a two story home built by first time home builder Todd (wink wink) who never built a house before that or after that as far as some people know.
Not to change the subject, Todd, the first time two story house builder (wink wink), ironically built a wooden good neighbor fence that didn't last that long.
If I remember correctly the wooden fence was structurally unstable and had to be removed. I guess it was a danger to their children and who would want that fence built by Todd, the first time home builder (wink wink), falling on their children and their children's friends?
If I remember correctly, one question at the time was who built Sarah's house that was built down the road from a new ice rink built by the winning contractor of the city ice rink under Sarah's mayorship.
If I remember correctly, it was said Mayor Sarah's house was built by Todd and some contractor friends. But if I remember correctly we will never know who built Mayor Sarah's house and where did the materials come from because if I remember correctly, coincidentally under Sarah's mayorship, she may have revised city building ordances regarding structures built in areas like Mayor Sarah's house did not require plans filed with the city or inspected by city inspectors to see who built her house and if it complies to city building ordances.
At the time, if I remember correctly, some say some materials used by first time two story home builder Todd (wink wink) is similar to a neighboring ice rink that was built by the winning contractor under Sarah's mayorship.
If I remember correctly, some say Sarah's house was built by the winning ice rink contractor under Sarah's mayorship. But who really knows who built Sarah's house?
If I remember correctly, structures like the house built by first time home builder Todd (wink wink) was never inspected by city inspectors for small things like structural and electrical compliance standards. I don't know, maybe it was inspected? Does anybody know?
Would I ever buy a house or worst case, even a two story house built by just anybody without being assured the house is safe with plans and periodic inspections filed and assured by city or county my family is going to call home? No way!
As a father with a family, I would not know if her house is structurally sound or would catch on fire because of shoddy workmanship that violated city building ordances that would have been caught by inspectors who are highly trained in these matters to catch shoddy workmanship and materials if what was said is true?
Mayor Sarah's house built by Todd down the road from the ice rink is a very nice looking house on the outside that Todd should be very proud of and I believe as a mother with five children, Sarah would be convinced her new house is safe and sound for her family and for family and friends who frequent her house.
That reminded me of George Jones, and Tammy Wynette's country song, Two Story house.

Sarah Palin is largely responsible for the bullying, nasty attitude evidenced today by some leaders. She started it all with her "sassy" retorts to real questions and almost rode that wave to the vice presidency. Thankfully, the better candidates won and we had eight years of adult leadership. Now, her celebrity reality TV idol is in the White House. Time to cash in. Anyone see her latest PAC financial report? Must be about zero by now.
ReplyDeleteIt's been closed for 6 months.
DeleteIsn't SarahPAC long gone?
DeleteBut, yes, she took this country down the ghastly road to where we are now, the worst of the deplorables emboldened by hateful rhetoric, whipped into a frenzy by bigger and badder demagogues, and even more so-called Christians happy to check their values at the door. She deserves to rot in hell. But an orange jumpsuit would be a good start.
Today Sarah Palin posted a Tweet cheering on "the 14 words." For those not up on their murderous white supremacist lingo, the 14 words refer to a particularly vile Nazi slogan. There is nothing else this could be referring to in the context of Palin's comment. Nothing. It's a shoutout to white, Christian supremacy.
ReplyDeleteEven for her, this is breathtakingly low.
Sarah has just stepped into a huge steaming pile of trouble!!
ReplyDeleteFrom Raw Story:
-- quote
Former Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin whipped up a social media firestorm on Friday after a tweet praising President Donald Trump included a phrase associated with the Neo-Nazi movement.
“Trump Gives Speech to the People of Poland, Says 14 Words That Leave Americans Stunned,” Palin wrote, with a link to a story about the president’s recent address in Warsaw. The article itself makes no mention of 14 words used by Trump.
-- end quote
The phrase "14 words" is a huge dog whistle to white supremacists and neo-Nazis. The "14 words" are: "We must secure the existence of our people and a future for white children."
Twitter was not kind to Sarah:

She's too stupid to understand that that statement basically says her own children and grandkids should be murdered.

I mean the whole United State saw and heard this woman in her raspy holier than thou voice screaming hateful rhetoric.
ReplyDeleteShe juiced up all the hate mongers. Before that we didn't give them the time of the day, and chocked them up to the thing of the past, then along comes she and lets it be known that it's okay to super hateful in the limelight. I didn't think of her as Hitler like I do Putin, but I knew before there was Hitler someone came before him to lubricate the train tracts.
Now we have Donny boy doing just that. Thanks Sarah. You were obviously chosen to bring down humanity by the devil himself. I believe it says in the bible something about not leaving yourself wide open to Satan. Oops. Too late .
That was her job during the 2008 campaign. And she never stopped it throughout President Obama's two terms in office. That's the one job she didn't quit. Hate and fear mongering; Sarah Palin's chose field of endeavor.
DeleteBeaglemom
She hasn't stopped punishing the American public for her loss 8 yrs ago. She's old and has lost her looks.. Sarah's jobless, desparate and looking for a payday.

DeleteMaybe Sarah is skeered to leave Wasilly in case those kids get to partying and shit stirring. Again.
ReplyDeleteYeah that RR graffiti.
DeleteCracked out chit I'd say!
Here is a comment I found on Sarah Palin's face book page from one of her followers. I hope this site and many others bring to attention the kind of people she attracts.
ReplyDelete"I wouldn't include Abraham Lincoln on the list either. The emancipcation proclamation is the worst piece of legislation next to what followed with the civil rights act in the 1960's. Setting them free has only destroyed formerly white neighborhoods. Too bad Lincoln wasn't assassinated before he signed the emancipation proclamation. Then we'd still have a great W society instead of the N's that are indoctrinating and dumbing down white kids."
Any sane person would have deleted that kind of comment or at least chastised the person who made it.
DeleteBeaglemom
Ok, this case is easy to throw out. Everyone knows she is involved in lethal politics. She just proved it once again with her 14 words post.
ReplyDeleteIf she goes through with this lawsuit, the NYT will lay out for all to see her pattern of hate and the damage she has done to our country. Sarah is seriously stupid.
