Turning the heat up on the Russian probe.

Yesterday we learned that Robert Mueller was now investigating the Trump family finances.

But that was by no means not all of the bad news for Donald Trump.

Courtesy of TPM:

The special counsel and congressional committees investigating Russian interference in the 2016 election are looking into possible money laundering by President Donald Trump’s former campaign chair Paul Manafort, the Wall Street Journal reported late Thursday.

Gee money laundering, why does that term keep coming up?

Oh, but that is not all.

Courtesy of the New York Times:

Banking regulators are reviewing hundreds of millions of dollars in loans made to Mr. Trump’s businesses through Deutsche Bank’s private wealth management unit, which caters to an ultrarich clientele, according to three people briefed on the review who were not authorized to speak publicly. The regulators want to know if the loans might expose the bank to heightened risks.

Separately, Deutsche Bank has been in contact with federal investigators about the Trump accounts, according to two people briefed on the matter. And the bank is expecting to eventually have to provide information to Robert S. Mueller III, the special counsel overseeing the federal investigation into the Trump campaign’s ties to Russia.

It was not clear what information the bank might ultimately provide. Generally, the bank is seen as central to understanding Mr. Trump’s finances since it is the only major financial institution that continues to conduct sizable business with him. Deutsche Bank has also lent money to Jared Kushner, the president’s son-in-law and senior adviser, and to his family real estate business.

This, of course, is EXACTLY what Donald Trump expressed so much concern about in that bizarre  New York Times interview the other day.

It must literally be bananas in the Trump White House right now, with Trump losing his shit with every new revelation that comes down the pike.

Trump’s Own White House Calls His New Communications Director An Unqualified Joke

...According to three senior officials with knowledge of the situation, they and other top aides worried that the Scaramucci hiring would perpetuate the notion of “amateur hour” in the West Wing. White House officials who opposed Scaramucci’s planned rise in Trump’s ranks have referred to the incoming new addition as a “joke” and as a Trump-world “hanger-on” who isn’t qualified for the job and is unprepared to handle the near-constant communications crisis dogging President Trump, senior White House aides noted.

Trump’s New Communications Director Has Admitted Trump Lies On Purpose

...Gawker: So when Donald Trump says that all the other candidates are owned by hedge fund managers…

Scaramucci: It’s just factually inaccurate. And he knows it’s factually inaccurate, but what Donald Trump is doing is a classic political thing. He’s identified two or three things that sound good.

Mentally Ill Trump Fired Sean Spicer Because He Wasn’t Good Looking Enough To Be On TV

Sean Spicer officially quit as press secretary, but the real story according to MSNBC's Nicolle Wallace is that Trump hired amateur Anthony Scaramucci as communications director because he wanted better-looking men pushing his message on television.

... “I wish this were a story about a really important job inside the White House. A post that speaks for the country and the President around the world, but this is about Donald Trump wanting better-looking men spreading his message.”

Sean Spicer wasn’t pushed out of the White House for competency reasons. Spicer lost his job because he wasn’t pretty enough for Trump, and didn’t have the Fox News seal of approval. Spicer came with Priebus to the White House, so his departure does not bode well for the future of Priebus as chief of staff.

Well then it shouldn't be too long before Huckabee is replaced. She's hardly fun to look at.

5:24 I agree. I think they are trying to be more acceptable and that is why Huckabee still has her job. Also they may not have a fashionable, with movie star looks, person to replace her yet.

Too each his own, but I hardly think Trump would be impressed with the red dress that made her look like a giant blimp. The white trim didn't help.

Trump’s Former Business Partner Tries to Erase his Prostitution Bust From Web

A former Russian government official—and business partner of Donald Trump’s—is gaining new notoriety, as the federal investigation into alleged election meddling widens.

Meanwhile, this Kazakh-born real estate mogul, Tevfik Arif, is doing his best to clean up his past, trying to purge the web of references to his arrest in an underage prostitution bust. He was later acquitted in the matter.

Arif, a former Soviet trade minister whose company once prospected for the Trump Organization in Russia and Eastern Europe, has demanded the removal of allegedly defamatory information about that arrest from websites that have investigated or recapped controversies involving some of President Donald Trump’s past business associates.

Some of those associates are now of keen interest to Justice Department special counsel Robert Mueller and his team of investigators probing Russian influence in the 2016 election and the Trump campaign’s knowledge of it. According to a Thursday report from Bloomberg, Mueller is examining the finances of a Trump project involving the investment firm Arif founded.

Asked how badly the President needed a win on health care, Scaramucci said, “I predict that the President will get a win in health care, that’s my honest predication, just because I’ve seen him in operation over the last 20 plus years, ah the President has really good karma, okay. And the world turns back to him. He’s genuinely a wonderful human being and I think as members of Congress get to know him better and get comfortable with him they’re going to let him lead them.”

Scaramucci is slick, he’s loyal, he’s a better liar than Sean Spicer. But a director of communication for the White House he is not. He is not skilled.

No skilled director of communication for the President would say he would get his legislative agenda done because he has good karma.

“Reinforcing all of Donald Trump’s impulsive, almost child-like urges to be the center of attention every day and to say whatever comes out of his mind at that moment, like political Tourette’s is not something that is going to help this White House become more credible and more viable,” he explained. “It is still going to end up being Donald Trump talking about whatever his impulse is and the voices in his head drive him to talk about that day and I think Scaramucci is a bit of a yes man.”

“He’s a bit of a family friend and so Trump is going to expect him to be ‘rah, rah boss, let’s go have fun and do what you want,'” he concluded.

"it could be shown that President Trump pardoned his family members and close aides to cover up possible crimes, then that could be seen as acting “corruptly” and he could be charged with obstruction of justice. If, as some commentators believe, a sitting president cannot be indicted, Mr. Trump could still face prosecution after he leaves the White House."

    1. Pence will pardon him just like Ford pardoned Nixon (which I was against. Failing to indict, convict and punish Nixon led to Trump's abuses today.)

If Trump is impeached, Pence will pardon him

If Trump lasts until 2020 and loses to a Democrat (not likely) then he might be in trouble. But I suspect if that happens, he'll "abdicate" and Pence will be sworn in just in time to pardon him.

Trump will never go to prison. He'll either be pardoned or die.

People from Trump's presidential campaign never met with any Russians.

    BREAKING NEWS

Sessions discussed Trump-campaign-related matters with Russian ambassador, U.S. intelligence intercepts show

The accounts from Sergey Kislyak to his superiors, intercepted by U.S. spy agencies, show that discussions in April and July of 2016 with Jeff Sessions included policy issues important to Moscow, contradicting public assertions by the attorney general. One U.S. official said that Sessions has provided “misleading” statements that are “contradicted by other evidence.” A former official said that the intelligence indicates that Sessions and Kislyak had “substantive” discussions on matters including Trump’s positions on Russia-related issues and prospects for U.S.-Russia relations in a Trump administration.

Senate Intelligence Committee chairman Richard Burr (R-NC) on Friday accused his counterpart in the House, Rep. Devin Nunes (R-CA), of creating a false narrative about Obama administration national security adviser Susan Rice.

Speaking to CNN after Rice was interviewed by the panel in closed session, Burr said he asked no questions about whether she improperly requested and revealed the identities of U.S. individuals swept up in intelligence reports—an accusation Nunes has made repeatedly.

“The unmasking thing was all created by Devin Nunes, and I’ll wait to go through our full evaluation to see if there was anything improper that happened,” Burr told CNN. “But clearly there were individuals unmasked. Some of that became public which it’s not supposed to, and our business is to understand that, and explain it.”
