The American Civil Liberties Union has filed a lawsuit challenging President Donald Trump’s ban on transgender individuals joining the military.
The federal lawsuit , Stone v. Trump, was filed in Maryland on Monday by the ACLU of Maryland on behalf of Petty Officer First Class Brock Stone, an 11-year Navy veteran who served in Afghanistan, and several other transgender members of the Navy, Army, Air Force and Marines.
Trump directed the Pentagon on Friday to implement the ban on transgender individuals joining the military, which he first announced in a tweet. He also gave to the Pentagon the authority to decide the future of openly transgender people already serving.
The lawsuit says Trump’s policy violates the equal protection rights of transgender service members who now have “grave reason to fear for their careers.”
I guess that Trump thought if he did this while the country was distracted by watching Hurricane Harvey drown Texas that nobody would notice.
Well wrong again Cheeto Hitler.
Cracks me up to see comments from people disclaiming that tg'ism exists and say DNA proves it. Well, does DNA prove autism? How about racism passed along from generation to generation? DNA test for that? Just let us be to live our lives without fear of being killed.

ReplyDelete"He said that it’s burdensome and disruptive. I am offended that a commander-in-chief would refer to thousands of people serving in uniform under his command as a burden. And the disruption is him "... he makes the statement that this is complicated and confusing"
"It’s essentially the last discriminatory practice in the military. Gays and lesbians are allowed to serve openly and are fully integrated. All combat positions are open to women. All that should matter is meeting the requirements."
Yeah, nothing is going to happen with that ban.

"U.S. Defense Secretary Jim Mattis said on Tuesday current policy regarding transgender personnel serving in the military would remain in place until he advises President Donald Trump on how to implement his directive on a transgender ban.
Mattis said in a statement he would set up a panel of experts serving in the Departments of Defense and Homeland Security to provide recommendations on implementing the ban.
He said he would advise the president after the panel reports it recommendations, and "in the interim, current policy with respect to currently serving members will remain in place.""
He's got until February 21 but I see that deadline being extended repeatedly and indefinitely.
Mattis is going to drag his feet on that "study", there will be extensions, it will be kicked down the road until either the lawsuit is settled in favor of LGBTW or Trumpa and Pence our out of office.
In other words, the military isn't going to do anything. They'll just make it appear that they are.
