After election Trump businesses required employees to sign draconian confidentiality agreements or risk losing their jobs.

Courtesy of CBS News:

CBS News has obtained a new confidentiality agreement rolled out after the election. The Trump Organization is requiring employees at all levels to sign it, or else they will lose their jobs.

Employees must agree to keep secret any information they learn about anyone in the "Trump family" and extended family, including their "present, former and future spouses, children, parents, in-laws."

"I have reviewed confidentiality agreements in international, family-run hospitality organizations and... I have never seen a loyalty code to a family like this," said Debra Soltis, who has specialized in employment law for more than 25 years.

"This confidentiality agreement looks more like what you would expect to sign if you were a nanny to Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt's children, where you were being brought into the home and exposed to private information," she said.

Specifically off limits: "all political, legal, social, religious, health-related affairs, activities, views and/or opinions of any member of the Trump family... all photographs, movies, sketches, videos, sound or image recordings or likenesses of any member of the Trump family."

The agreement lasts forever and is retroactive.

Not surprised by this at all, this family is terrified of having their private information leak out, because they know that some of their secrets could land them in prison.

I imagine that there is a similar agreement which members of Trump's cabinet and White House staff are also required to sign.

Really makes you wonder just how much dirt is out there, doesn't it?

Come on prison, or better yet firing squad for treason.

Now, if only one of those being forced to sign this agreement would have the intestinal fortitude to refuse and quit their job so they could release all the dirt they know about this despicable family I'm sure they would be handsomely rewarded.

Why do they need their workers to sign a confidentiality clause, after all 99% of trump workers are foreigners, all the trumps have to do is have their visas revoked.

I wonder exactly how legal this clause is, after all the workers aren't going to hire an attorney to find out.

Little donnie jr has been known to threaten to fire workers that join or form a union, so these workers have no independent protection, besides not being informed on American labor laws because they are foreigners.

The trumps probable run their resorts like their overseas sweatshops: long hours, no benefits and little pay.

Someone should challenge the agreement in court.

Beaglemom, I'm afraid the courts might say they can't sue - if it isn't an employee or ex-employeee - because they don't have "standing".

I would quit, and i most definitely would cash in on the shit I saw. Im sure there are enough people that hate trump to kill the legal battle i would face.

    5. I'd like someone to refuse to sign, get fired and then have the ACLU represent them pro bono. Then there would be standing. Might even become a class action.

Its utterly ridiculous that this is news and that we have lost total sight of governing this Country.
We are going backwards and beyond rapidly . When then heck is this nightmare going to stop!!!

  5. So how does this gag order work if these employees are called to testify under oath?

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. It doesn't. If they are called to testify, they are free to do so. In fact, they are required to do so. The non-disclosure is void if they have to testify under oath.

One has to wonder what Trump is so afraid of.

I am wondering if something like this is actually enforceable, or if the people that have to sign this can later claim they had to sign under duress, because otherwise they would have lost their job...

    BBC:
Trump approves new 'flawed' Russia sanctions

President Donald Trump has signed into a law a bill which imposes new sanctions on Russia for their alleged meddling in the 2016 election.

The bill, which was signed in private at the White House, also imposes sanctions on Iran and North Korea.

The legislation "handcuffs" the president from easing penalties on Russia without congressional approval.

"When Washington imposed the sanctions on Moscow in 2014 over its annexation of CRIMEa and role in the Ukraine conflict, the U.S Treasury said it wanted to “impede Russia’s ability to develop so-called frontier or unconventional OIL resources”.The United States, having itself experienced a spike in OIL output from tapping shale rock over the past decade, worded the measures to prohibit Western companies from helping Russia develop “shale reservoirs”. It did not mention other lesser-known forms of unconventional deposits."
"Spokesmen for the U.S. Treasury, and for European Commission foreign affairs and security policy, both declined to comment on Russian projects, the wording of the sanctions or if any change was planned to include other unconventional OIL resources."

"After sanctions were imposed in 2014, the company amended all the releases on its website to replace “shale” with “lime$tone”, though it did not alter the 2013 annual report. It described the venture as lime$tone from that point on." 1 WORD!

The real question is not whether Republicans can do something about Trump—but whether they have the will or the courage to do so.

Julian Zelizer: Arizona Senator Jeff Flake, one of the most conservative members of the GOP, has published a new book, along with a Politico article, in which he takes on his own party for saying so little about the dysfunction in President Trump’s Oval Office. “To carry on in the spring of 2017 as if what was happening was anything approaching normalcy required a determined suspension of critical faculties. And tremendous powers of denial,” he writes. Flake’s comments are one of a number of signs in the past few weeks that there is serious unrest within the Republican Party about the president.....

Questions had been raised about whether Trump would sign the sanctions bill, because the president has spoken so overtly and so frequently about wanting to improve relations with Moscow. By the time the legislation got to his desk, however, Congress had left him with little choice; both chambers had passed the bill with veto-proof bipartisan majorities.

The House passed it 419-3, the Senate voted in favor 98-2.

The bill restricts Trump's ability to ease Russia sanctions without Congress' involvement.

Trump also repeatedly writes that he is a better negotiator than Congress, which he notes has been unable to approve ObamaCare repeal.....

    😂🤣😀

"I built a truly great company worth many billions of dollars," Trump wrote in one of the statements. "That is a big part of the reason I was elected.  As President, I can make far better deals with foreign countries than Congress."

Trump said he was signing the bill despite what he said was its flaws for the sake of "national unity."...

  13. People of privilege are the only ones who would dare defy Dolt45* and reveal details about this mob family. Who will believe a POC, an immigrant, an LGBTQ, a poor person, or one who barely speaks English? With Donnie's criminal ties to Putin, anyone who discloses the smallest detail wouldn't only have to fear unemployment, they know their days are surely numbered. This is the low class, filthy kind of person we have presently occupying the White House. When you are in the muck and mire as deeply as long Papaya Pol Pot, you think even as beautiful, majestic, and awe-inspiring a building as the White House is a "dump"! The rats will turn on Mango Mussolini soon enough, and Mueller will reveal all.

  15. Retroactive? Huh? Like they are going to enforce it for something you said before you signed it?

Boy, I'd like to see that come up in a court case.

I question the legality of any of it. I think this is just another of his intimidation tactics forced upon people who don't know the law, aren't educated and so desperate they need the work.

Personally, I'd tell them to shove it and then go straight to the nearest local paper and spill everything I saw and heard. But then, I don't need to make beds in a Trump hotel to feed a family.

When our president screwed women from his teenage days to adulthood, did he he have them sign a Confidential Nondisclosure Agreement Form stating for the rest of their lives they won't reveal his penis size, admiration of golden showers, rectal fetishes, freakish fetishes and so on? I'm not saying he's into that sort of behavior, but was there a form he required signatures before be blessed them with his huuuuge manhood?
