Donald Trump visits flood ravaged Texas and makes it all about him.

Courtesy of Quartz:

After the briefing, Trump did an impromptu rally type speech in front of a few hundred Trump supporters who somehow managed to know exactly where the president was doing the briefing.
He stood on a raised platform of some type. Couldn’t tell if it was a step ladder or not. But he was not on a truck. Spoke into a microphone.

“I love you, you are special, we’re here to take care of you. It’s going well.”

“What a crowd, what a turnout.”

Reporters heard no mention of the dead, dying or displaced Texans and no expression of sympathy for them. The message was services are coming and Texans will be OK.

“Texas can handle anything,” POTUS said.

“We are going to get you back and operating immediately,” he told the crowd (this contradicts the “Long haul” Sen. John Cornyn has publicly discussed and the caveat from FEMA administrator long moments earlier that it’s going to be a slow process).

Trump did not meet with any of the flood victims, mention the deceased, nor offer anything of substance to those who are suffering.

But to be fair he did offer this tweet.
See? Everything's all better now.

Of course that tweet was immediately followed by this one.
Yeah, why won't these magazines just let Trump make America great again?

Stupid magazines!

I mean look Trump even brought his wife wearing a hat identifying who she is.

What more do these magazines want?

Stupid magazines!

"Donald Trump visits flood ravaged Texas and makes it all about him." Donald Trump is not about to change.

Eric Trump has now said his father is depressed and his remedy is to not see anything negative. It is a serious depression because Donald Trump is suicidal. His medicine is to have people around him that are only positive.

Depression and suicide are critical health care issues. People need to wake up and focus on healing and saving lives. The Trumps may only be about drama and attention but many others are in need of good care.

Houston lost one of its finest, a thirty year veteran who was trying to get to work and got caught in the flood and drowned in his patrol car. The police chief was in tears because they had to wait to recover his body due to the danger. And this was known before trump got there, as was the fact that one family lost six people, mostly children, when their car was swept away. No mention of the tireless work down by ordinary people from all over texas who hooked up their boats and headed to help. No mention of businesses like HEB WHO sent huge mobile kitchens, or Buc res, who Fed and housed emergency responders, or Mac the Matress Guy, who is housing and feeding evacuees and National Guardsmen. This state, this country is coming together in spite of trump not because of him. And instead of being nice to Ted Cruz, he should have trolled him for voting against Sandy aid but now having his hand out, and I would be curious to know how those people managed to get to his "rally"

There is nothing surprising about his behavior. This is a narcissistic personality. Everything is about his own emotional needs. He is incapable of empathy. It is a terrible thing so many are completely fooled by this person who has nothing to give. The world suffers the consequences. He says MAGA but all he is looking for is adoration. There is not an altruistic bone in his body.

I agree he is a malignant narcissist. They feed on envy and admiration as narcissistic supply. The supply is low given his daily major blunders and inability to bully and humiliate to get anything significant done. He boasts, steals credit, paints others black, lies pathologically but had no substantive plans. Narcissists portray an image of competency believing they are entitled others do all the work. What was his health care plan? He had none except sociopathic promises stated with self aggrandizing bravado that conned people.

Yeah, he did nothing. There was no reason, after all, for him to go. And he and Melanus looked like idiots trying to appear as if they stood along with the little people. They looked like they felt so out of place in what they had on and like they were dressed up for Halloween. Both of them had on brand new perfectly crisp white shirts, and Trump pulled his shirt cuffs below the cuffs of the windbreaker jacket he was wearing (he was first seen wearing that jacket when walking across the lawn with Mel in her stilettos) as if he were wearing his usual suit jacket, and Mel’s blouse was unbuttoned too far and she had her collar pulled up around her neck to make a fashion statement. Everything was tucked in perfectly. Mel’s hat with her ponytail pulled through the back of it looked glued into place, just like the perfectly rolled-up sleeves. It was funny, too, that Trump insisted on keeping his jacket on while Mel was in just a blouse with those rolled sleeves. Trump wasn’t about to let his fat show and take off his jacket and roll up his sleeves like Bill C, W, and Obama always did. Only a couple other people all during Trump’s time in hot and humid TX had light jackets on—everyone else around him had short sleeves going. Imagine Trump outside and passing out blankets and water in his windbreaker suit jacket.

Given that the third wife's hobbies are pilates and fashion magazines, I guess we can excuse her blank stares in the face of a natural disaster of the scope of Hurricane/Tropical Storm Harvey. But Trump is now responsible for all of us. (God help us because Trump sure won't.)

      Prelude to Moscow Trump Tower

Ivanka Trump. The “first daughter” is so tight with Dasha Zhukova, the wife of Russian oligarch and Putin ally Roman Abramovich, that she reportedly invited Zhukova to attend her father’s inauguration. Ivanka has also helped her father pursue business deals in the former Soviet bloc. In 2006, Donald Trump asked formerly “Mafia-linked” businessman Felix Sater to “squire” Ivanka and her older brother, Don Jr., around Moscow, according to the Washington Post. And Ivanka was deeply involved with a failed effort to build a Trump Hotel in Azerbaijan, where the Trumps had joined forces with a family whom a government minister had accused of corruption and who had possible ties to the Iranian Revolutionary Guard.

Republicans want to cut nearly $1 billion dollars from the disaster relief accounts to pay for Donald Trump’s wall.

...Trump is promising billions to help Texas rebuild from Hurricane Harvey, but his Republican allies in the House are looking at cutting almost $1 billion from disaster accounts to help finance the president’s border wall.

The pending reduction to the Federal Emergency Management Agency’s disaster relief account is part of a spending bill that the House is scheduled to consider next week when Congress returns from its August recess. The $876 million cut, part of the 1,305-page measure’s homeland security section, pays for roughly half the cost of Trump’s down payment on a U.S.-Mexico border wall.
