Mexico reiterates yet again that they are NOT paying for that border wall no matter what Donald Trump says.

Courtesy of CNN:

The Mexican government on Sunday again stressed its position that it will not pay for President Donald Trump's proposed border wall.

Trump tweeted Sunday morning: "With Mexico being one of the highest crime Nations in the world, we must have THE WALL. Mexico will pay for it through reimbursement/other.

"In response, the country's foreign ministry released a statement saying Mexico would not pay for a wall or other physical barrier at the border "under any circumstances."

"This determination is not part of a Mexican negotiating strategy, but a principle of national sovereignty and dignity," the statement said.

You know I work with young people who have behavioral and cognitive difficulties.

You have to keep repeating yourself to them all the time as well.

It seems weird that Trump keeps claiming that Mexico will pay for this wall, while at the same time trying to force Congress to pony up the money to start construction.

What is his plan here? Is he going to push Congress into allocating funds for the wall, and then send Mexico the receipt for reimbursement?

Because if we think Mexico is laughing at us now, just wait.

And fly in airplanes, and take boats, and get hired to pick crops ( and work at Trump companies, etc) on H2B, and get legal visa's but don't leave, And there is already a wall there, add to it.

There was a funny ad depicting Trump giving a speech to dedicate his border wall. As he spoke before an elevated podium, in front of him the ground opened and a ladder appeared. Many Mexicans wearing sombreros, bull fighters dressed in traditional costumes climbed out from a tunnel beneath Trump's wall. It was hilarious.

OT? "Our greatest predicament, the issue that will define our lives, has been blotted from the public’s mind."
"While no weather event can be blamed solely on human-driven warming, none is unaffected by it."
"I believe it is the silence that’s political. t is the act of not talking that makes this nightmare likely to materialize."
"Trump, who denies human-driven global warming but who wants to build a wall around his golf resort in Ireland to protect it from the rising seas"
". To acknowledge this issue is to challenge everything. To challenge everything is to become an outcast."

      I couldn't agree more.
...though the links are clear and obvious, most reports on Hurricane Harvey have made no mention of the human contribution to it.

Why are the crucial questions about Hurricane Harvey not being asked?

How can we learn anything or make improvements if our leaders are climate change deniers?

So sad, one of the Harvey dead was a police officer that was out there to help.

Well, Houston has flooded before. Perhaps humans should not be buildng homes in flood zones anymore and at the very least not near reservoirs and levees? 2500 homes are built on the fucking reservoirs in Houston!!

Trump needs Mexico more than Mexico needs Trump. It is about the only campaign plug he can think of since everything else is even worse for him. He can say what he wants and pays no attention to what anyone else says.

"The Trump administration has apparently not yet decided whether to take Mexico up on the offer, but this would not be the first time Mexico has offered disaster assistance to the United States."

"In 2005, following the devastation wrought by Hurricane Katrina, the Mexican government sent soldiers, medical personnel, engineers, and aid to the stricken citizens of Louisiana and Mississippi."

    3. The Trump administration hasn't decided because they're not happy with the visual of Mexico providing aid that they aren't and with Mexico's repeated stand that they will not pay for any wall.

Perhaps in Trump's twisted mind, he'll spin the aid from Mexico as a down payment, in kind, on the wall?

I hope Mexico can provide aid. People must be exhausted and all help can be used.
Only a crazy president would decline the offer..oh wait ..the president is unstable and impulsive revenge seeking.

Trump's Business Record in Russia Is Humiliating

...Trump never had what it took to be a player in Russia -- not when it was a land of limitless opportunity as it began its flirtation with capitalism, and not today. This may not be comforting to Americans. To have a leader incapable of negotiating with Russians is probably worse than having a president with business ties to the Kremlin-connected elite.

  9. Trump *KNOWS* Mexico isn't going to pay for the wall.

He can't let the phrase go because it was the big hit of his campaign.

Mexico isn't going to "reimburse" the US for the wall either. And he DOESN'T CARE.

He just wants the wall. He doesn't care who pays for it and he doesn't care how much it costs. He just wants something physical that he had built so he can point to it and say "That's mine. I did that." Like his buildings. It will be known at "Trump's Wall" like the Great Wall of China and even though it won't have his name on it it will still be "his" wall.

This is one campaign promise he is not going to forget or back down from.

He will divert funds to Texas and FEMA and anything else for his wall. I think if he even had to take money from the military and transfer it to his wall project, he'd do it.

Just wait until the budget fight. He'll be fighting against his own people. Well, he'll be fighting against the Republicans. The budget is really going to reveal the true Trump and his approvals will slip even further. When he denies Texas and Louisiana funds, FEMA funds, all to support his wall that Mexico will not pay for or reimburse us for, he'll lose even more support. It will look even worse when Mexico sends supplies and disaster relief to Texas.

Are you sure of that? That idiot ALWAYS puts his name on things! Or gilt. Just depends on which side he's looking at. OUT side or IN side.

Humpty Trumpty. I wish he would fall off his damned wall!

    WASHINGTON POST:

...Yet again, Trump managed to turn attention on himself. His responses to the devastation caused by Hurricane Harvey have been more focused on the power of the storm and his administration’s response than on the millions of Texans whose lives have been dramatically altered by the floodwaters.

He has talked favorably about the higher television ratings that come with hurricane coverage, predicted that he will soon be congratulating himself and used 16 exclamation points in 22 often breathless tweets about the storm. But as of late Tuesday afternoon, the president had yet to mention those killed, call on other Americans to help or directly encourage donations to relief organizations.

By focusing on the historic epicness of the hurricane, Trump has repeatedly turned attention to his role in confronting the disaster — a message reinforced by comments and tweets praising members of his administration.

I can't recall or locate Trump's official campaign site position about the wall. There were details on his site (probably BS from him) of how he would force Mexico to pay for the wall. One item I recall was he claimed he would stop people from sending money to anyone in Mexico (alleging Mexicans pay no taxes in the US). I wondered how Trump could have all mail intercepted
and opened to intercept checks or money orders, wire transfers, packages etc.

I did find some stated plans of what Trump said he would do to Mexico including charge Ford 35% tariff on imports. He must be enraged he can't dictate new trade agreements. Trump is not a negotiated to have a win win outcome. He is an I win and you are the f'ing loser kind of guy.

See picture at NY Times. Melania looks ridiculous:

    NY Times:
Melania Trump, Off to Texas, Finds Herself on Thin Heels

When is a shoe not just a shoe?

When it is a pair of very high, needle-thin heels worn by the first lady of the United States on her way to the site of a natural disaster. Then it becomes a symbol for what many see as the disconnect between the Trump administration and reality; another example of the way in which this president and his family continue to define “appropriate” their own way; and an excuse for partisan name-calling.

Or so became apparent Tuesday morning when President Trump and his wife left the White House to fly to Texas for a briefing on the devastation caused byHurricane Harvey, and Mrs. Trump appeared on the lawn in black pegged trousers, black shades, an olive green bomber jacket — and her stilettos, now a trademark. Very much the same kind of shoes, in other words, she has been wearing since long before she joined her husband on the campaign trail.

No what is more insulting is that she wore a hat that said Flotus on it. Really we don't know that.

Gucci sunglasses and a damn hat that said Flotus on it. How brave of them to go visit the peons to pretend they know a hardship.

Who the hell wears a hat that says Flotus on it. She is a nude model an an uneducated one at that. She poses and that's all she knows. Do not sell me flank steak and tell me it's fillet mignon. This is what we have come to the ultra right wing calling Michelle Obama a tranny.

How President Obama and Michelle Obama suffered for eight years you would think was enough! Oh no it's still going on because Trump

What is her agenda? Nothing but posing beside her fat ass husband.Bitch barely speaks English! Yeah i will go there! She never wanted to be First Lady and it shows.

I have seen Melania Trump wearing flats also. I think there are more than enough behavioral issues about the Trumps to criticize than stilettos. She at least did not wear them getting off the plane although she made a poor choice wearing the FLOTUS cap for looking cute or a haha look at me the First Lady although I do not do shit but attend events and refused to move costing millions of dollars was a major blunder.

I seriously doubt that off the golf course DJT ran around in baseball caps. It is as if they are trying to fake a connection with common folks.

I know it is not yet Labor Day, she was still in correct fashion mode to change into the white shoes. I don't wear white shoes when it rains because there are small puddles and splashes do happen. White can look trashy dirty very fast. She must have been very secure about being in a flat dry area at all times.

Did she get down and dirty? She should be seen mopping up a church or something, dontcha think??
In my heart I think the repubs are secretly happy - look at all the people of color and obese, out on disability useless breathers in crisis, (real terms used by Henry Kissinger once) needing rescue. The elite do not give a shit if these people live or die. But WE care about our fellow citizens. WE will get the work and care done.
Now the folks in the River Oaks section of Houston? I'm sure Melania can feel THEIR pain!!
