Alec Baldwin and Kate McKinnon big winners for SNL at last night's Emmy Awards.

Courtesy of Slate:

Given his obsession with ratings and his television fixation, there’s a good chance Donald Trump spent his Sunday night seething in front of the TV as he watched the Emmy Awards turn him into a punching bag. (Well, mostly.) Alec Baldwin, whose much-lauded impression of Trump on Saturday Night Live earned him an Emmy for Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Comedy Series, couldn’t resist getting in his own dig at the president, beginning his acceptance speech by saying, “I suppose I should say: At long last, Mr. President, here is your Emmy.”

Baldwin was referencing Trump’s long-running complaint that the Emmys were somehow rigged against The Apprentice—a claim he repeated during a presidential debate with Hillary Clinton, footage of which was shown during Sunday’s ceremony. Baldwin continued his speech with another Trump burn: “I want to thank my wife. My wife and I had three children in three years, and we didn't have a child last year during the SNL season. I wonder if there's a correlation there. All you men out there, you put that orange wig on, it's birth control. Trust me.” Kudos to whoever’s job it was to keep Trump off of Twitter for the duration of the evening.

Baldwin was not the only SNL cast member to win an Emmy for their amazing portrayal of a candidate last night.

So did this incredibly talented performer.

(You will notice that Kate actually thanked Hillary whereas Alec merely mocked Trump. I think that says a lot.)

Alec Baldwin is great, don't get me wrong, but in my opinion Kate McKinnon may be one of the most talented cast members that SNL has every had in its stable.

I swear literally every time I see her onscreen she is killing it.

And her portrayal of Hillary Clinton was amazing.

Most happy to have seen Alec Baldwin win due to his magnificent portrayal of Trump on Saturday Night Live! Loved his acceptance speech too.

Great night for ridiculing Trump - one of the best!

it,s nice that Kate won too. Hillary got a touch of payback with that. i think her campaign did well, too. trump is the biggest crook. i just saw a little old lady i know a bit and she showed me a newspaper photo of trump in military school-is basketball team, and i said he cheated at that, too. "oh no, he's the most wonderful, nicest man on the planet and i write him all the time" all i could find the words for "well, that's very nice of you. i still don't know what to think of that. i didn't want to hurt her feelings any. ditsy, i suppose.

OT tinydjt>"It would take place on July 4 in Washington with, as Trump envisions it, tanks and planes rolling down and streaking above Pennsylvania Avenue.'

"rump talked up the idea Monday as he sat down for talks with French President Emmanuel Macron, who hosted the president and first lady Melania Trump for France’s military parade in the center of Paris on Bastille Day in July. Trump said the two-hour procession was a “tremendous thing for France and for the spirit of France” and suggested he wants the same for Americans.

In typical Trump fashion, the president said he wants the parade to be bigger and better than the one he saw in France." ". “We’re going to have to try and top it.”"
"The president, who has recruited three current and retired generals for his senior leadership team, also noted that the U.S. spends $700 BILLION on the military." Brag, brag brag...

so pleased to see them both win. Alec is perfect as trump. i hope trump saw it all. funny how when something does'nt go dumps way he starts screaming fake and rigged!!! and he "won" last night. i would have dearly wanted to see him blowup. and the Hillary impression was great, too. maybe we'll get lucky and he'll have a stroke over this. i don't want him dead, i just want him gone.

FB>"I am pleased to see that there has been substantial criticism and consternation about the appearance of the former press secretary Sean Spicer at the Emmy Awards last night.
It is not funny that the American people were lied to.
It is not funny that the press was attacked for doing its job.
It is not funny that the norms of our democracy have been trampled.
I do not know Mr. Spicer or what is in his heart. But to actively serve in the capacity in which he did, and the manner in which he conducted himself, can not be allowed to be normalized. Actions must have consequences.
There is a long history of a bipartisan camaraderie amongst officials who have served in administrations. This is to the good and shows the strength of our democracy. And no one is perfect, far from it. We as a people are forgiving and welcoming.
But this is different. We are still in the midst of an administration that actively lies to the American people. We do not know where this is all going. There are looming criminal investigations.
To have Sean Spicer now lead us in laughter about all this makes me uneasy."

We obviously missed the beginning of the Emmy show the other night. I do not think that the media should be fawning over Spicer now. He did his best when he was press secretary to lie every day, every moment he spent before reporters. Not a hero in my book. Now Melissa McCarthy, she's a heroine to me!

"This was a masterpiece. Because I was so uncomfortable. And laughing, but it was seriously nervous laughter. Because it was just too real. So real. I mean, wow Kate McKinnon. That was some Glenn Close shit." 'Fatal Attraction'
"Kate McKinnon is a comic genius! SNL has got the best comedy talent in years! This sketch was absolutely brilliant!"

Terrible that Stephen Colbert brought out that lying sack of shit Spicey to pretend his lies were funny and we're all in on some big joke together. Nope. Melissa McCarthy is funny, but not him. He should be ignored and shamed for his treatment of the press and for lying to Americans, not rewarded by Hollywood.
