Over the weekend John McCain all but slams Donald Trump for dodging the draft during the Vietnam War.

Courtesy of the New York Post:

Sen. John McCain took some veiled shots at President Trump over the weekend — slamming high-income draft dodgers for using their wealth to avoid serving in the Vietnam War.

“One aspect of the conflict, by the way, that I will never, ever countenance is that we drafted the lowest income level of America and the highest income level found a doctor that would say that they had a bone spur,” the Arizona lawmaker told C-SPAN3 in an interview that aired Sunday.

“That is wrong. That is wrong,” he said. “If we’re going to ask every American to serve, every American should serve.”

McCain, a Republican, didn’t actually name Trump — but the “bone spur” reference appeared to be a direct jab.

Okay so in about a two or three day span of time that is now George W. Bush, Barack Obama, and John McCain taking veiled shots at Donald Trump.

But my question is why do they remain simply veiled shots?

At this dangerous point in our history why can these individual, who all know what is at stake, not simply call Trump out clearly and publicly for what he is doing to this country?

And what will they tell themselves, and the American people, after it is too late?

Has John McCain received the Medal of Honor? I can't remember.

McCain, don't think a Medal of Honor. He no doubt received other medals. He wrecked his plane and was saved from drowning. He did not save others. He bombed agriculture lands, innocent farmers and families and may be a few bad guys.

His father and grandfather were admirals and had connections. They call him a hero because he was a guy that was in a prison for a long time. His injuries were from a plane crash, not being in a battle.

One has to wonder if Trump is having staff scour records to find him someone, anyone, to award a medal to.

Just wait until Trump says he awarded more Medal of Honors than Obama did.

The irony is for a war that Trump dodged numerous times. Bone Spurs my ass. We all know he bought his way out, as did many rich white kids.

McCain can say all he want' to know. he has proven himself to be a real person, unlike so many other repubs. he fought for his country, and spent years in a pow came. he refused to leave without his men. and now he stands up to dumpt. this is the only repub i respect. and sarah, well, we all make mistakes. i think she was chosen by some else.

Can you imagine having to receive that award from Donald Trump who wouldn't know how to fight his way out of a paper bag?

The whole thing is sad. Having to get your Medal from the Bone Spur Rich Kid, Vietnam era. The day he is still disrespecting a Gold Star widow whose husband was fighting in recent time. No one even knew what we were doing in Niger, not even the committees that are to oversee those type of military events.

The former Presidents don't need to destroy Trump with their own words - Trump is consistently destroying himself. Plus, the former POTUS's don't want to stoop to Trump's level.

Thank God Presidents Obama, Bushes, Clinton and Carter are nothing like Trump!!! Trump is the devil and will destroy America, if not stopped.

I think our former POTUSs will step up (and take action) should Trump start doing horrid things to our people and country!

Too late, he maybe aready doing irreversible damage NOW. I still hear crickets about them legally getting him out of office, based off of one his numerous blatant violations of the law. I hate to be a cynic, but they wont do anything to stop him because maybe this is overall gameplan of the 1%er's. Bleed this country dry get rich off disproportionate wages, by not paying appropriate taxes and offshore banking. CEO's that fail to do job correctly get a 23 million dollar severance package(marissa mayer) to basically fuck off.

    OT? Halls Of CON-gress

"“It is pervasive, and obviously we haven’t eradicated this kind of unwanted sexual attention and innuendo. Practically, every woman that I know has experienced this to some degree, and as I said, it’s not cute. It’s not fun, and when you have the President who admits to being a sexual predator, it just goes to show how we objectify women in our culture. We must start somewhere, and that’s why I think it’s important for us to take this moment and step forward to stand in solidarity and enable more women to just come out and talk about it, and you know, I hope that this results in the guys, because you know, it’s usually the guys hassling us to think twice before they say stupid things to us.”
"rump isn’t the beginning or end of the problem. Until male culture changes and men start standing up when they see and hear a woman being harassed, until all of the Bill O’Reillys and Harvey Weinsteins are held accountable, until our society changes and starts treating predatory sexual behavior as a crime and not “locker room talk,” our country will be diminished by this issue.

Trump is a sexual predator, and not a day should go by without every American being reminded of this FACT.""

My understanding is that historically past presidents have not criticized a sitting president. Former presidents and McCain are breaking past tradition of speaking up which is a start even if they do not name Trump.

As I recall, McCain didn't refuse to leave [POW camp] without his men. SOP was early release went to the longest incarcerated POW. If he accepted the release then it was all prisoners or none. Pity McCain waited so long to speak his mind, but better late than never.

"in 1956, during the era of the Second Red Scare and the Lavender Scare. Like the more famous anti-Communist investigative committees of the McCarthy period in the United States Congress, the Florida committee undertook a wide-ranging investigation of potentially subversive activities by academics, Civil Rights Movement groups, and suspected communist organizations, and also attempted to eliminate homosexuals from state government and public education."

If this doesn't prove Trump's obsession with reversing everything that President Obama did, nothing will.

"President Donald Trump brought up a campaign promise during a March meeting with the U.S. senators from Alaska, asking whether he could roll back President Barack Obama’s 2015 decision to rename the tallest mountain on the continent, spokespeople for the senators confirmed to Newsweek on Monday."

During those years families set in front of the small black and white tv watching the draft numbers coming on the screen. It was scary. It was terrible. Sending young men and women to a senseless war is a crime. There is only one reason for war. If attacked. And we the people of the United States of America have been attacked by traitors and terrorist within our borders and on foreign soil.
