Members of an exclusive club are making a rare joint appearance Saturday.
All five living former US presidents will take part in a benefit concert in Texas to raise money for hurricane relief efforts, while President Donald Trump will appear in a taped video message to the concertgoers, the White House announced Saturday.
Former Presidents Barack Obama, George W. Bush, Bill Clinton, George H.W. Bush and Jimmy Carter will attend Saturday night's event, named "Deep From the Heart: The One America Appeal," at Reed Arena at Texas A&M University in College Station.
Apparently Trump is going to send a video message, but that is really all he can do right now as he is dealing with more important matters.
Priorities.Per pool, Trump has arrived at Trump Nat'l Golf Club in VA.— Kyle Griffin (@kylegriffin1) October 21, 2017
This is his 74th day at a golf club, 94th day at a Trump property as president.
However the men who took their jobs seriously are showing up to help their fellow Americans whose lives have been devastated by these recent disasters.
The concert won't be the first time the former presidents have joined forces.
After Hurricane Harvey struck Texas in September, all five started the "One America Appeal" charity effort and filmed a video urging citizens to help out amid the devastating flooding.
They have since resumed the effort in the aftermath of Hurricanes Irma and Maria.
I am long past hoping that Trump is capable of learning on the job, but just maybe he can be shamed into actually doing his job by the example set by these men.As Americans, we lift each other up. I’m proud to be a part of this night. Hope you’ll tune in. https://t.co/FZLWfNBLw5 https://t.co/Mv6Kg2ZwMZ— Bill Clinton (@BillClinton) October 21, 2017
I mean at this point anything is worth a try.
Fuck Trump
ReplyDeleteTrump will never be able to 'hurry up and copy/reflect the former past POTUSs' actions due to the fact he doesn't have the empathy and natural kindness as do all our past presidents.
ReplyDeleteAnd, there is nary a way I can imagine Trump being a part of the 'past president's club' once he completes his first term (unless he quits or is impeached!). He does NOT have a natural fit with his predecessors!
The malignant two year old will not grow up. Like his supporters, he is incorrigible. They voted for a shit head. A shit head they got. When their lives remain or get more miserable, they will tune into Fox or RW hate sources to find out who to blame. Liberals and brown folks will be the culprits. This country has a very large population of feeble minded gullible ignorant racist fools. Their basic nature is to be uncharitable and cruel. And, being narcissists themselves, none of it is their fault. They think of themselves as victims. And they are, of their own stupidity.
ReplyDeleteSo true.
DeleteI was never a fan of either George Bush, but senior is 93 years old with health issues and HE could manage an appearance at this event.
ReplyDeleteAs much as he brags about being the best, I think our current White House squatter knows deep down that he will never truly belong in that exclusive club.
Exactly. His presidency is a fraud. He is an illegitimate president and he knows it.
Deletethey will never let him join. big temper tantrum. "but i'm the bestest great president ever! i'll make my own club and i won't let them in. meanies!!".
DeleteThe Cretin in Chief's ability at golf matches his ability at anything. Millions of folks have voted for a short busser with a penchant for cruelty. I wonder if the loss of affordable comprehensive healthcare will make any impression on these fools or will they just luv luv luv his dimwitted racist ass. They seem to love Hannity and Hannity is an ignorant lying sycophantic slab of lard. Does it ever occur to these idiots that Hannity is paid millions to fool fools like themselves?
ReplyDeletegreat comment! agreed!
DeleteThere's a quote by a famous gentleman (I can't remember whom it was) about how if you can convince some loser that he's superior to someone else you can do what you want with him.
DeletePres. Lyndon Johnson.
DeleteOUCH!! Well said.

ReplyDeletewell, it's nice to see "W" make up some for Katrina. it's nice to see them all. maybe some were not great presidents but they tried. i can't believe i'm praising W. Bush. and of course the worst president ever just does not give a fuck.hopefully some one else will write his speech. find and read a copy of " the dangerous case of donald trump" by Bandy Lee. they nailed dumpt to the wall.
ReplyDeleteTwitler has no shame. Plus he is an abject coward and he would be afraid to show up where Obama is.
ReplyDeleteHey, those golf balls aren't going to hit themselves!
ReplyDeleteDonald Trump has proved that his brain is too old to learn anything new. He would be the third eldest in that picture but the other old guys still have their wits about them.
ReplyDeleteThere would be so many boos if trump showed up. He is not a president and has no honor. He is a liar with zero honor.
ReplyDeleteHas anyone else noticed that the Dumpster has not spent one day or weekend with Melania or his young son? No trips to special places, nothing. That speaks volumes.
ReplyDeleteYe$. djt has nothing to do with Barron,
Deletenot even golf anymore.
The operative phrase: “took their jobs seriously”.
ReplyDeleteNow lets hope there will be found a constitutional way for the 5 to invoke the 25th amendment
ReplyDeletePence is HORRIBLE, but slightly more stable than the Trumpsterfire.
O/T, but a must-read! Very in-depth!
ReplyDeleteInvestors lose everything, but trump makes millions in trump tower Toronto fiasco. Fuckin' crook!!
See the story at www.thestar.com .
"As early as 2001, Donald Trump claimed that he had made a “substantial” investment in Toronto’s Trump Tower, but in reality he only had a contract to licence out his name and manage the hotel."
Delete"your lead developer is publicly exposed in the pages of the Toronto Star as a fugitive fraudster on the run from U.S. justice. Your major institutional partner — the Ritz-Carlton Hotel Company — bails shortly after.
Your remaining partners in the deal — a group of investors assembled by the criminal who was just outed — include a New York camera store owner, a former Chicago nursing-home administrator, two small-time landlords in Britain and a little-known Toronto billionaire who earned a fortune in the former Soviet Union." djt>
repeatedly told the world HE was investing HIS own money in the project — claims that would prove false — and gushed about its spectacular promise, knowing HIS profits were guaranteed.
“Nothing like this has ever been built in Toronto,” Trump said in 2004 as he relaunched the stalled project. >
“It is going to be the ultimate destination for Business, Pleasure and Entertainment.”<RIGHT!
"Seventy five per cent of the units were sold, Shnaider said in 2007, shortly before groundbreaking. A few months later, Trump said the number was 70 per cent. By 2012, Talon was reporting 60 per cent were sold. The next year, the company admitted less than half the units had been bought."
'trump tower Toronto fiasco' aka dis·or·der·ly house
I cant believe I am saying this about bush. At least he is trying to make amends, it looks like his actions are sincere.
ReplyDeleteThat IS funny! Jim Wright>
ReplyDelete"My favorite part of this picture is how George H. W. Bush looks as if he just tried medical pot for the first time and he's like, "Shit, man, SLOW DOWN!" "
