Trump and Putin did not have a formal meeting while they were in Vietnam for an economic summit, but the two spoke informally several times and reached agreement on a number of principles for the future of war-torn Syria. But Trump made clear that the issue of Russian meddling in the election hovers over the leaders' relationship — Putin is "insulted" by the accusation, Trump said. In a blistering partisan attack, Trump accused Democrats of using the election issue to create a barrier between the U.S. and Russia as the nations work on crises in Syria and Ukraine.
"Having a good relationship with Russia's a great, great thing. And this artificial Democratic hit job gets in the way," Trump told reporters, once again casting doubt on the U.S. intelligence community's conclusion that Russia did try to interfere in the election. "People will die because of it."
You know to me this simply reinforces the idea that Trump knew all along that the Russians were interfering in our election, and was very likely helping them to do it.
Why else take the word of a former KGB agent over the word of our own intelligence agencies?

Trump: I don't watch much television 'primarily because of documents'
President Trump told reporters Saturday that he doesn't watch much television while at the White House because he's busy "reading documents."
"I haven't been able to devote very much time to it," Trump said, adding that he would "have further comment as we go down the road."
Moore was accused of inappropriate sexual conduct with a 14-year-old girl when he was in his 30s in a Washington Post report this week.
Three other women also told the Post that Moore approached them when they were between the ages of 16 and 18.
Trump has previously insisted he has "very little time for watching TV," though he often tweets about Fox News and CNN segments just after they air live.
Trump also had a 60-inch flat screen TV installed in his private White House dining room, according to Time magazine.
Since Trump ditched the press for his covert meeting with Putin, we have no contemporaneous account of what they discussed.

After Trump defended Putin’s word and denigrated the U.S. intelligence community, Putin humiliated Trump by denying that he ever spoke those words.
This is not the first time Putin has pulled one over on Trump.
Over the summer, the two men held a secret meeting in Hamburg, Germany, after which Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov told reporters that Trump had accepted Putin’s denials about election interference. Trump administration officials said the account was not accurate, but Lavrov had already beaten them to the punch.
As we saw this weekend, Trump still hasn’t learned his lesson — and Putin couldn’t be happier about it.

In a statement, the CIA said the agency’s director, Mike Pompeo, remains confident in their January 2017 report, which concluded that Russia waged a disinformation campaign in the U.S. to influence the election in Donald Trump’s favor.
“The director stands by and has always stood by the January 2017 intelligence community assessment entitled: ‘Assessing Russian Activities and Intentions in Recent U.S. Elections.’ The intelligence assessment with regard to Russian election meddling has not changed,” said a CIA spokesperson, according to The Hill.
The CIA’s new comments stand in stark contrast to the reality-detached president, who said on Saturday that he “really” believes Putin when he says that Russia did not meddle in the presidential campaign.
