A White House spokesman said Monday that when President Donald Trump has his annual physical on Friday, a mental health evaluation won't be part of the routine.
Spokesman Hogan Gidley swatted away the question with a curt 'no' as he briefed reporters aboard Air Force One.
Trump, 71, will undergo a routine checkup at Walter Reed National Military Medical Center near Washington, D.C.
Gidley also defended Trump's description of himself as a 'stable genius,' saying the choice of words was a direct response to how reporters misunderstand him.
'Most of the press calls him unstable and stupid,' deputy press secretary Hogan Gidley said.
'But the record shows quite a difference, than what the media is trying to portray. He comes back with exactly what he is. He's brilliant, not just in the business world, but as a political tactician, as a president. The accomplishments speak for themselves."
Yeah, I knew there was no way that Trump would agree to a psych eval.
And if he did have one they would just lie about the findings.
In fact I am quite convinced that we will not get an accurate report on Trump's health from this physical either. Especially since he himself has to sign off on the release of that information.
You can tell my looking at Trump that he is not healthy, so there is no way that information is going to be accurately revealed to the press.

ReplyDeleteWhen the AHA was passed, my doctor, as a provider on the exchange, was mandated to do a Mini Mental assessment on me. I was in my late forties at the time with no history of or signs of dementia. It was part of my routine physical. WTFFFFFFFFFFFFuckity fuck? The man with one of the most important jobs in the world, with obvious signs of a mental impairment and decline, does NOT get a mental cognitive cursory exam???????
Shame on that doctor.

Whatever, this dementia will continue to declare itself and I will have schadenfreude. I did not vote for this asshole stain on the world.
Even in an ordinary annual physical, a doctor will make some kind of assessment. You know, when they stare at each eye through their eye-starer things or when they ask you to walk in a straight line or to close your eyes and point your finger at your nose. All of these and many more provide glimpses of possible issues for anyone, but especially for an aging person. And Trump, although he would not admit it, is aging. And very quickly it seems.

One thing that was very alarming from the book, Fire and Fury. Repeating the same stories and grievances every ten minutes. My grandfather was having mini strokes on a daily basis when this happened. It wasn’t exactly a positive sign that he didn’t recognize dear friends, either. This isn’t going to be pretty.
ReplyDeleteMy dad had been having TIA's for a while, too. He was diagnosed with dementia shortly thereafter (It must have been vascular in origin). He declined rapidly; I had to assume guardianship of him as he was unable to make rational decisions for himself and he died eighteen months after diagnosis. He remembered who family and friends were, thankfully, but memory issues were a problem, as was decision making ability. He became cantankerous and irrational, to the point of being noncompliant and combative with nurses and health aides. You are right. This is going to get ugly.
