The Republicans will not share the Devin Nunes created memo that everybody is talking about with the FBI. Gee, why not?

Courtesy of Daily Mail:

The FBI has not been permitted to see the memo Rep. Devin Nunes and his staff wrote about alleged abuses by the intelligence community, The Daily Beast has learned.

"The FBI has requested to receive a copy of the memo in order to evaluate the information and take appropriate steps if necessary. To date, the request has been declined,” said Andrew Ames, a spokesperson for the FBI.

Reached for comment, Nunes’ spokesperson Jack Langer said, "The Daily Beast has become America's foremost publication for regurgitating the Democrats' talking points."

Nunes, who heads the powerful House intelligence community, put together the four-page memo based on intelligence the FBI showed him and a few of his staff, as well as Rep. Adam Schiff, the top Democrat on the committee. More than 150 members of the House have seen Nunes’ memo. Scores are calling for its release, while Democrats say it is “a misleading set of talking points attacking the FBI.”

The fact that Republicans refuse to show the memo to FBI, which characterizes the intelligence they shared with Nunes, has Democrats concerned. One aide told The Daily Beast it means Nunes’ efforts are just politics.

“If this is about FBI abuses, why wouldn’t they share it with the Trump-appointed director who wasn't at the bureau when the abuses supposedly occurred?” the aide said. “If this is about cleaning up the FBI like they claim, wouldn't they want Wray as an ally?

Boy, there's a good question for you.

The House Intelligence Committee also blocked an attempt by the Democrats to release a minority report about the intelligence contained in the memo.

You may remember that Nunes was also behind all of that cloak and dagger stuff back in march, during which he accused the FBI of secretly wiretapped.

That was also a nothing burger, but the Republicans promoted it as proof that the intelligence agencies were working against the Trump presidency from the get go.

Nunes was also supposed to step down as the head of the intelligence committee, but clearly he has been involved in derailing the Mueller investigation all along.

Communist Nazi nutjob nunes and gawdy gordy sidekick must resign. Both are disgusting shameful crooks and must go. IF they telling the truth with facts they would show that the Republican party hired and paid for the research to disqualify Donald John Drumpf from being on the ballot. But since the Republicans are soulless pos liars with zero ethics they continue the scam and lie another day. F U republican scabs.

This guy should be indicted for obstruction of justice. He's got an army of Russian bots working on his "release the memo" meme. Go ahead. Release it. Put top secret stuff out there, Devin. And then remind us what the problems were with Hillary's emails.

Devin Nunes and his magically disappearing and reappearing Trump-Russia memo

...In other words, Nunes’ bluff has been called, and he has no idea what to do. He and his idiot colleagues seemed to think that if they made the supposed memo sound damning enough, those investigating Trump would become too scared to keep pushing further, those in the peanut gallery would conclude that the entire investigation is a sham, and they could get away with never producing this imaginary memo. Because that plan was hatched by some of the dumbest criminals in the history of Congress, they’re now left with the decision to either slap together a phony memo, or drop the whole stunt entirely.

So now we wait to see if Devin Nunes and his fellow goons try to put together a memo, which would have to be full of the same kinds of baseless accusations and laugh out loud lies they’ve been pushing for months, and release it while ducking behind the couch for fear of the inevitable blowback. The stunt also serves to place further attention on the year-long crime spree by Nunes, who has obstructed justice and leaked classified information among other felonies.

GOP relies on Russian bots to falsely smear Democrats during shutdown fight

...Russian-influenced Twitter accounts have gone all in trying to help Republicans and the White House promote the #SchumerShutdown hashtag in a desperate attempt to shift the blame for the shutdown to Democrats.

“#SchumerShutdown ― the hashtag that GOP leaders and the White House are using to accuse Democrats of causing the shutdown ― on Sunday night became the top trending hashtag being promoted by Russian bots and trolls on Twitter, according to the Alliance for Securing Democracy,” HuffPost reports.

It’s all part of a larger, disturbing trend in which Republicans now regularly rely on operatives in foreign countries to drive the GOP’s domestic messaging via social media.

Sen. Sherrod Brown silenced on Senate floor for stating truth about GOP abuse of power

...On Sunday evening, Sen. Sherrod Brown (D-OH) took to the Senate floor to try to pass a bill to reopen the government for three days, so Air Force servicemembers in his home state and other public servants can show up for work tomorrow morning. But Republicans didn’t like what he had to say and disturbingly threatened to silence him.

Republican senators interrupted Brown to cite the same obscure senate rule Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell used almost a year ago to silence Sen. Elizabeth Warren as she read a letter from Coretta Scott King to raise concerns about the nomination of Jeff Sessions to be Attorney General of the United States.

This time, the Republican majority sought to cut off Brown from accurately recounting the ways in which the majority leader has shut Democrats out from drafting critical legislation, while welcoming lobbyists in.

Just as with Warren, it was a shocking moment, all too consistent with the authoritarian tone Republicans have set in this era of one-party rule.

    Here’s how it unfolded:

But there is an even worse problem with this Republican lie. CHIP did not expire “yesterday.” It expired in September — and Republicans let it sit unfunded for nearly four months while they focused on Obamacare repeal and tax cuts for billionaires.

Ohio Sen. Sherrod Brown took to the Senate floor on Sunday to remind his GOP colleagues of this fact.

...“Imagine … you go out to the mailbox. You pick up the mail. You tear the envelope open,” said Brown, holding up an envelope and tearing it in half for emphasis. “You open this letter and you see that you’re gonna lose your health insurance. Why? Because people in this body who get government insurance, insurance paid by taxpayers, 100 privileged senators, 435 privileged House members — we have insurance, but we don’t care enough to do this?” Brown raged.

“We had September, October, November, December, January,” said Brown. “Now it’s in this bill as a political thing, instead of really, genuinely caring about CHIP.”

“Say a lot of things on the other side of the aisle,” Brown thundered. “But don’t try to tell us that they genuinely care about the 209,000 CHIP beneficiaries in my state. … It just ain’t so.”

    3. McConnell doesn’t have to go back on his word. Paul Ryan didn’t make any promises and is not obligated to any deal made between Schumer and McConnell.

That is the problem with Democrats. Too much trust.

McCaskill got screwed for her tax vote. She should have known better. Flake too.

If the Republicans won’t even keep their promises to their own, what makes Democrats think the Republicans will keep their word to them?

Women give Dems massive lead for 2018 as they abandon GOP in record numbers

...Asked which party they would vote for in the midterm elections, 64 percent of American women said they would pull the lever for a Democratic candidate, compared to just 29 percent for Republicans. That produces as stunning 35-point advantage for Democrats.

Last fall, when ABC and the Washington Post polled the same question, the gap stood at 15 points. So it has bulged 20 points in just two months.

There is definitely something off about Nunes. He always looks sweaty and nervous. My guess is he's either motivated by fear (Illegal acts or blackmail), money (Russian or Trump's) or drugs (substance unknown).

I hope the FBI is taping his phone calls.
