Hey, remember when our POTUS and FLOTUS used to inspire children?

Can hardly wait until we can replace Quasimodo and his ice queen with a first family that will once again do exactly that.

    2. Agree. It totally misses all the strength and many other qualities that make her such a great woman.

That is such a beautiful picture with so many layers. The first African-American First Lady, a tiny girl being awe-struck and learning that she, too, can aspire to this, the African-American guard looking on... There's a youtube out there of President Obama set to the song "What a Wonderful World". Also too, hooray for the girl's parents who take her to museums!

I want to emphasize your remark about parents taking her to museums. I have been confronting the myth that people must be “rich” to be cultured. What people need is valuing culture and motivation to take advantage of available resources including free ones.

6;58; the Smithsonian museums and monument are free to all people through the magic of taxes. If the Teatards and Conservatives get their fondest wish of NO TAXES EVAHHHH, these marvellous cultural institutions won't be able to stay open.

Instead this is what we are stuck with for the time being, Trump as himself, his jokes aren’t jokes, most of them are pretty nasty. What a loser.
Like most republicans, little donnie can't laugh at himself, hence he has no sense of humor only mean spirited jabs at others.

    3. Did he use the flat monotone he uses for material he has to read that he doesn't want to? Like a toddler with a chore, being forced to apologize or some such? Yeah, someone wrote it all for him and he was told he better do this one. And there were plenty of jabs at Hillary and Obama from others that he could enjoy. Basically this dinner was the least painful of the lot so suck it up Donnie.

I understand this oaf spent 30 min. on his monologue. That must be a record. It was probably a 10 min. speech lengthened by his pauses, faces and inability to read at a 3rd grade level.

  4. The WH has a stench to it that can never be removed. No body in their right mind would want to be Potus after this clusterfuck to end all clusterfucks.

I for one like the Michelle Obama portrait. She and the Potus aren't like others. They are otherworldly in thoughts and deeds.

The Trumps are an extreme contrast to the Obamas, previous Presidents and First Ladies. One thing is consistent about Trump is his dedication to spend half his time rubbing elbows with wealthy people at his clubs, be the center of attention, play golf and behave like a teenager using social media to spar and make questionable policy decisions.

In our morning paper today is a letter from a 91 year-old man praising Donald Trump "in the highest." The letter writer apparently detested President Obama and sees Trump as saving the country. He also thinks we'll all be so much better off after 8 years of Trump. I suppose the old geezer who wrote the letter to the Editor spends all of his days glued to Fox News. How else could he have such a misshapen world view?

I know someone who still believes Obama was against people pulling themselves up, working hard instead he stood for owing nothing and living off other people. She heard that somewhere but the Obamas said quite the opposite as well as lived the opposite.

It always fries me -- what possible interest would she have in running? Like the Golden Globes speech of Oprah's, suddenly "For President" cries. I'm not even an Oprah fan, but it sure seems like we're all begging for a voice of reason that has been sorely missing.

OT FYI:"The legendary actress donned the same dress she wore to the Oscars in 1962 to Sunday's 90th Academy Awards.
Moreno wore the black and gold gown when she won the best supporting actress Oscar for her role in the musical film
    "West Side Story.""

Well thankfully CNN is still a stalwart of reporting on the important news stories of the day, and certainly doesn't have any bias lol.
