Florida teacher who hosted a white supremacist podcast has resigned.

Courtesy of CNN:

Florida middle school teacher Dayanna Volitich submitted her resignation after it was found she was also the host of a white supremacist podcast called "Unapologetic" and the voice behind a Twitter account riddled with racist and anti-Semitic posts.

Charles E. Moore, Volitich's attorney, had no comment on his client's resignation letter.

Volitich, 25, taught social studies at Crystal River Middle School in Crystal River, Florida. Online, she went by the pseudonym "Tiana Dalichov." Last month, she confirmed through her attorney that she was the one speaking as Dalichov on the podcast, but said her comments were "political satire and exaggeration" and the persona was a "hobby."

"None of the statements released about my being a white nationalist or white supremacist have any truth to them, nor are my political beliefs injected into my teaching of social studies curriculum," she said in the statement.

That's funny, that "political satire" and "exaggeration" claim is the same one made by Rush Limbaugh and Alex Jones when their hateful rhetoric was in danger of costing them a job, or custody of their kids.

The local school district has not yet accepted Volitich's resignation but it is hard to see how they won't, after all even for Florida this is bad publicity.

For those who did not catch our March post on this terrible person, yow can find it here.

  1. Arkansas political candidate Justin Jones suspended his race today after he was harangued for his homophobic statements. He is also claiming his recent vile commentary was only "satire". Alas, his history of bigoted statements negate his excuse. http://5newsonline.com/2018/04/03/northwest-arkansas-house-candidate-calls-gay-people-disgusting/

    1. They always claim “satire.”

“You keep using that word. I am thinking it does not mean what you think it means.”

  2. Oh, they'll accept it all right. There are parents complaining and threatening to sue the district if she isn't fired. They accept it and be grateful it is all resolved so quickly.

I don't even see a teacher's union attempting to defend her. They would probably advise her to resign rather than face a lawsuit and have to pay court costs.

That is *IF* there is even a teacher's union still in Florida.

(BTW, anyone enjoying all of the teacher strikes in all those red states? Right to work states? Hey, they were warned but they decided to shit on the teachers anyway. What is it now? Arizona, Oklahoma, West Virginia, Kentucky.)

The "Public" school system must demand that NO money goes to private schools. NO VOUCHERs to private schools. Tax dollars only go to PUBLIC SCHOOLS ONLY.

    2. In addition, any school that receives public tax dollars must also meet all public school requirements. From building code to vetting teaching staff (criminal background checks) to administering all standardized tests and passing benchmarks. In addition they must also instruct core curriculum. If they want to ADD to it, that's fine. But they must meet every requirement for curriculum, testing and ensure their teachers are as "highly qualified" as those in public school, that their employees have all had the same background checks and that buildings all meet or exceed code.

They want the money, they are going to have to "pay to play."

"Former Democratic nominee Hillary Clinton lashed-out at Fox News during a speaking event Wednesday; saying the cable news network and President Trump were out to “impeach” her following the 2016 race for the White House." NeXxxT?

Clinton -who holds no public office- was delivering her remarks in New York City when she slammed the Trump administration; saying the United States was in a very “bad spot” and hasn’t “seen the bottom yet.”

    http://educationpost.org/this-teacher-with-a-white-nationalist-podcast-is-outrageous-but-shes-not-alone/

"DAYANNA MAY BE OUTRAGEOUS, BUT SHE’S NOT ALONE IN OUR SCHOOLS
Yes, this story is outrageous, in part because Dayanna’s stated views are so extreme and hateful that it makes you wonder how she gravitated to a teaching career,"
"a different teacher who created a thinly-disguised blog demeaning his South Side Chicago students, parents and colleagues with mocking, racist caricatures.

He labeled his students “criminals,” saying they stole from teachers, dealt drugs in the hallways, had sex in the stairwells, flaunted their pregnant bellies and tossed books out windows. He dismissed their parents as unemployed “project” dwellers who subsist on food stamps, refuse to support their ‘baby mommas’ and bad-mouth teachers because their no-show teens are flunking. He also took swipes at his colleagues, too—“union-minimum” teachers, literacy specialists who “decorate their office door with pro-black propaganda,” and security officers whose “loyalty is to the hood, not the school.”

This Chicago teacher saw himself as a victim of his violent school"
"So make no mistake. Dayanna is not alone. These beliefs exist in our schools, and these teachers shape our children—their psyches, expectations and outcomes. We can give these teachers all the anti-bias training in the world, but that is only going to harden their views. The only way to root out this ugliness is to give credence to the students, parents and peers who complain about these beliefs and behaviors"

      2 solutions
      - volunteer in your kids' classroom adnd push teh issue if the teacher resists - with the principal and right on up to the superintendent and school board
      - talk to your kids. Ask them what they learned when you have dinner, tuck them into bed, drive them to friends', sports or wherever, when you say good night or walk in the door. Converse with them in ways that allow them to say what they think.

Oh, you don't have time for the first? I get it, you have to work, often mulitple jobs. So go for the second option.

What's that? You don't really talk to your kids cause they are on playstation/xbox/their phones and you're too tired?

YOU as a non-parenting parent - are the problem, too.

'“YouTube making these changes where they’re going from being a platform for videos to being a publisher of videos, meaning that they are starting to censor content here and there, whatever, actually opens them up to liability and it opens them up to a lot of hatred from people around the world.”In reality, the exact same steps were taken in the cases of assailants who could hardly be described as “liberal.”"

"Ladies and gentlemen, it's back! Just when you thought
The Innocence of Muslims was gone forever, the controversial 14-minute trailer on which Benghazi {ALL STARTED HERE} is back online for your viewing pleasure!

If you happen to be offended by the content of this video, then instead of flagging this video, how about not watching it instead? We have freedom of speech in this country, you know, and that includes the freedom to make fun of historical figures that some people hold, um… sacred."

    OT-wtf?
"Newly unsealed documents reveal that the ex-Fox News host stipulated that if evidence came out about his harassment, his accusers would have to LIE TO PROTECT HIM."
"more extreme stipulations found in his 2004 agreement with Andrea Mackris: Should the ex-O’Reilly Factor producer ever go public with her accusations, she would not only have to return the settlement money but also give O’Reilly the value of any benefits she receives as a result of going public.

Furthermore, the settlement deal required that if a third party ever released any evidence pertaining to Mackris’ accusations, she would be obligated to publicly “disclaim them as counterfeit or forgeries.” In other words, as Macrkis’ lawyers wrote in a motion filed Wednesday, the deal effectively required her to “lie—even in legal proceedings or under oath—if any evidence becomes public.”"<FUCK THAT!

So Donald is trying to start a trade war with other counties with his tariff. Why? Did Putin tell him to? And then he calls Amazon stupid. Why? Why? Why? Is he undermining our country? Why are we letting him.
Donald has nothing good to say about the USA. Oh, he says he does, but he seems determined to bring us down. Is Putin's hold over him that strong? Hmmmm.
And on internet the conspiracy theory channels that deem Trump the savior to bringing down the "Rothchilds" is going full strong with crazies, no matter what you tell them.
Did Hitler do this too? I think he did.
When we are incapacitated into further stupidity by the Donald, we are going to hurt. Anyone cares? Or is it too early to care?

Can you imagine the hurt that her students felt, especially "the brown ones" when they found out what she was doing? That could really shake a kid to the core, destroy their trust in everyone. And the woman claims it was all for the sake of satire?
