Militia members, which include the sons of Cliven Bundy, have taken over a Federal building in Oregon. Oh this is going to be bad.

A protest in support of Oregon ranchers facing jail time for arson was followed by an occupation of a building at a national wildlife refuge led by members of a family previously involved in a showdown with the federal government. 

Ammon Bundy — the son of Nevada rancher Cliven Bundy, who was involved in a standoff with the government over grazing rights — told The Oregonian on Saturday that he and two of his brothers were among a group of dozens of people occupying the headquarters of the Malheur National Wildlife Refuge. 

Ammon Bundy posted a video on his Facebook page asking for militia members to come help him. He said "this is not a time to stand down. It's a time to stand up and come to Harney County," where Burns is located. Below the video is this statement: "(asterisk)(asterisk)ALL PATRIOTS ITS TIME TO STAND UP NOT STAND DOWN!!! WE NEED YOUR HELP!!! COME PREPARED." 

In an interview with reporters late Saturday night that was posted on Facebook, Bundy said he and others are occupying the building because "the people have been abused long enough."

Yes it is just terrible that the government is trampling all over those arsonist's human rights. 

The 2001 fire was set by Dwight Hammond and his son on government land to cover up the fact that they had illegally poached deer. The fire consumed 139 acres of public land and damn near killed a witness to the blaze.

When the Hammonds were put on trial they were able to convince a jury that the five year minimum sentence was too long and instead received a much lower one, from a jury pool consisting of locals who all know and admire the Hammond family.

Upon appeal the Ninth Circuit Court upheld the minimum mandatory requirements and the Hammonds were retried and sentenced to those mandatory five years.

Apparently THAT is the federal overreach that has now inspired the Bundy boys and local militia members to forcibly take a federal building and engage in a standoff with law enforcement.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but if this were being done by Muslims they would all be dead already, right?

Somebody set fire to Bill Clinton's childhood home. Police suspect arson.

Authorities say a fire that caused minor damage to former president Bill Clinton’s first childhood home in Hope, Ark., may have been arson. 

Hope Police Department Chief J.R. Wilson said a motorist spotted flames early Friday at the Clinton Birthplace National Historic Site. Wilson said that when firefighters arrived a short time later, flames were shooting 8 feet into the air on one side of the structure, a two-story white frame house. 

The Arkansas Democrat-Gazette reported that the fire was quickly extinguished and only one interior room was damaged by flames. Wilson said there was graffiti found at the scene, with footage from the scene showing a large painted frown with a protruding tongue on the exterior of a door leading to the inside of the home. 

The cause of the fire is under investigation, with arson suspected in part because of a smell of accelerant at the scene. “It looks like that [the fire] was started intentionally at this time," Hope Fire Department Chief Dale Glanton told Shreveport, La., station KSLA. "So it will be investigated and handled as a potential arson fire."

I would say it's a safe bet to assume this was arson.

It is also a safe bet to assume that this will not be the last attack on the Clintons, their reputations, or their property.

The fact is that the closer we get to the nomination and the 2016 election, the more crazed the rhetoric against the Clintons will become, and more unhinged the people who listen to it and believe it.

I will also suggest that it is quite possible that the conservative rage against a President Clinton could very well match the conservative rage against President Obama. 

23 year old man arrested for setting California mosque on fire. Father blames social media. Is that another name for "Donald Trump?"

A 23-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of committing a hate crime and arson in connection with a Southern California mosque fire, authorities said Saturday. 

Carl James Dial Jr., of Palm Desert, was arrested late Friday and booked for investigation of commission of a hate crime, arson, maliciously setting a fire and burglary, according to a Riverside County sheriff's statement and jail records. 

Dial was being held in lieu of $150,000 bail.

The police have not released a motive yet, but young man's father knows just who to blame:

"He was caught up in social media. Social media has produced people like my son, without person-to-person contact," the father said. "I believe he was lacking in social skills."

Yeah darn that social media for causing people to set mosques on fire. 

Somehow I doubt that will work as much of a defense.

Another Planned Parenthood clinic burned. This time in California.

Police and fire investigators are combing through a charred and water-logged Planned Parenthood clinic near Los Angeles after a nighttime arson attack. 

An intruder broke a window and used a liquid accelerant to start a fire on the ground floor of the two-storey structure in Thousand Oaks late on Wednesday, just six weeks after the abortion provider was vandalised. 

A sprinkler system doused the flames, averting serious fire damage but covering the floor with several inches of water, forcing it to remain closed on Thursday. 

The attack came amid a political storm over Planned Parenthood triggered by a series of videos posted online by the anti-abortion group Center for Medical Progress, which has accused the healthcare provider of profiting from the sale of foetal tissue.

Those doctored videos, and the emotions they were designed to spark, have real world consequences well outside of political debate about defunding and policy changes. 

There are people who are willing to destroy, to threaten, and yes even to kill because in their minds they are saving actual children from slaughter.

In my opinion the group that doctored and then released those videos should be held criminally responsible for EVERY health clinic torched by anti-choice arsonists, EVERY incidence of vandalism against a Planned Parenthood facility, and of course any injuries or deaths that might be linked to their propaganda.

Oh and it goes without saying that Planned Parenthood needs to sue them for every cent that they have.

Washington Planned Parenthood clinic set on fire as Republicans continue attacks in response to doctored videos.

Pullman Fire Department and Pullman Police Department both confirmed a fire at the Planned Parenthood. 

The fire started at around 3:30 a.m. along SE King Drive and caused extensive damage. Police said fire alarms and burglary alarms were tripped at the same time. 

Pullman fire said the fire is suspicious because it happened at Planned Parenthood. 

Around 4:45 p.m., Riordan said Pullman fire investigator Rich Dragoo informed them that the fire was arson. 

"This is an appalling act of violence towards Planned Parenthood, but unfortunately a predictable ripple effect from the false and incendiary attacks that fuel violence from extremists," added Karl Eastlund, CEO, Planned Parenthood of Greater WA and North Idaho.

I think that this fire is undoubtedly the result of those doctored videos, and even though investigations launched in numerous states have found that NO fetal tissue was sold for profit, the politically motivated attacks continue.

In fact Florida Governor Rick Scott decided that since his investigation did not find the evidence he was hoping to find, that he would just withhold that information from the public: 

After the now-discredited videos accusing Planned Parenthood of selling fetal tissue came out, Republican politicians rushed in, demanding investigations and defunding efforts with an eye toward marginalizing or even destroying the women's health care provider. Gov. Rick Scott of Florida was particularly eager, sending a team of investigators into Planned Parenthood clinics in a fishing expedition to find malfeasance. 

That effort may end up backfiring. Politico Florida reported on Wednesday that Rick Scott's office suppressed the findings of the investigators, who found no evidence whatsoever of the alleged fetal tissue sales. The initial press release drafted by Florida's Agency for Health Care Administration indicated that "there is no evidence of the mishandling of fetal remains at any of the 16 clinics we investigated across the state." Emails obtained by Politico through a Freedom of Information Act request showed that the governor's office struck that language from the press release. 

Well I guess we can all look forward to a clinic in Florida suddenly bursting into flames as well, can't we ?

The "controversy" over the videos is also affecting the President's plan to promote Obamacare.

The Obama administration on Wednesday awarded more than $1 million in grants to Planned Parenthood to help promote ObamaCare, a move that is drawing GOP criticism at a time when the healthcare provider is under congressional investigation. 

Rep. Diane Black (R-Tenn.) blasted the White House’s decision as “unconscionable” in light of allegations of illegal activity in the health provider’s fetal tissue program, which has prompted key Republicans to call for a total defunding of the organization. 

“A growing body of evidence suggests that Planned Parenthood broke federal law and now the Obama administration is thumbing its nose at Congress and taxpayers by using this backdoor maneuver to boost funding for the scandal-ridden abortion giant,” Black wrote in a statement Wednesday. 

She is the lead author of three bills to defund Planned Parenthood, one of which she says has been promised a vote by House GOP leadership.

Actually according to Mitch McConnell the Republicans don't have the votes to defund Planned Parenthood but he hopes that when President Trump, Carson, or Bush take office that will all change.

Which means that the Republicans are going to try and make this issue a central theme during the 2016 election, and that we can all expect more anti-abortion protests, more fire damaged clinics, and more political manipulations by those who want to deny women the right to control their own bodies.
